Obi said, “those who have closed their businesses for fear of kidnapping, banditry, insurgency as a result of government inability to provide security for the citizenry, will be encouraged to return.”

He reiterated that the power sector would be taken care of through policies that would make the sector to work again and contribute to the country’s economic development.

“We are going to treat everybody equally, especially the physically challenged in the area of empowerment.

“We will take the issue of the physically challenged very seriously in our incoming government and that is one of our agenda,” Obi said.

The PDP vice presidential candidate said that local government autonomy would work through “proper restructuring and federalism.”

“Local government will become very free and autonomous to get its revenue directly from the federation account without state interference for rapid grassroots development.”

He also gave the assurance that an Atiku/Obi ticket would ensure that “incessant strike being experienced now,” would be a thing of the past.

CHARACTER OF A GOOD LEADER, A CASE OF HON JARIGBE AGOM

CHARACTER OF A GOOD AND TRUSTWORTHY LEADER.
....Hon Jarigbe Agom patronizes a roadside provision store.

By Adoga Michael Oyi

Leadership is not a distinction between the rich and the poor, the have and the have not. A leader is a follower. But in our contemporary world especially Africa, leadership is seen as wealth making, and followers oppressing avenue. To identify leaders with the actual  traits of leadership is hard nowadays.

Some good characteristics of a good leader is inherent in Hon Jarigbe Agom the honorable member representing Ogoja/Yala federal constituency in the House of representatives. He was seen patronizing a roadside provision store in the street of Yahe community in Yala Local government Area. A trait so lacking in many, due to their different view of the subject "leadership". To Jarigbe,  "simplicity is the key to endless achievements in life".

His simplicity, accessibility, and sense of humor together with his overwhelming achievements are the reasons why the keenly observing people of Ogoja/Yala has thrown their supports on him. Hon Jarigbe has redefined leadership. They could be nothing greater than assisting and seeing your people doing graciously well.

Humility is a key figure in leadership. Pride goeth before a fall, no wonder Hon Jarigbe Agom keep soaring like eagles and not falling, "Humility is key".

My people Let's vote a leader that we can put a call across to and he will immediately pick up and attend to our needs. Hon Jarigbe is that man with virtually all the characteristics of a leader.

"I'm Regina Daniels. Proud to be 100% Atikulated with Atiku Abubakar who is in the race to become Nigeria's next President. I accept my appointment as Youth Campaign Coordinator For Nollywood with humility and youthful zeal. Atiku is a youth-friendly leader who has assured that every 4 out of 10 of his cabinet will be a youth. The drift is brazen. The nation is at crossroads. The land bleeds from hunger and inertia. It's time to steer the ship away from caput. From Bama to Bori, Aba to Abuja, kaura Namode to Kaduna, the sky is gloomy.

Time for Nigerian Youths to join me and vote Atiku/Obi 2019 to protect our future."

2019: Etung monarch explodes: Owan-Enoh can’t win governorship poll.

The Paramount Ruler of Etung Local Government of Cross River State, His Royal Majesty, Ntufam (Dr) Emmanuel Oru says his subject and factional governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator John Ewan-Enoh stands no chance of winning the governorship election in March.

Speaking on the phone with prominent politicians from the local government, the monarch was very categorical that the election will be a walk over for the incumbent, Governor Ben Ayade.
Oru, who was unhappy with the false claims on social media by the APC that he had pledged his support for Owan-Enoh, said: “Enoh and APC are lying to the public. He (Enoh) cannot win. Election is not by appearance. Election is of the mind and Ayade will win this election.”
The monarch who described Ayade as his “very good friend,” said there was no chance in hell that he will enlist his support for Enoh.

It would be recalled that the monarch recently led a delegation of who is who in the politics of Etung, including the elder brother to the APC candidate, Professor Anthony Owan-Enoh to endorse Governor Ayade for second term.

2019: Beware of APC propaganda - Chief Angela.

The senior Special Assistant on mobilization and enlightenment to the Cross River State government has alerted the Online media Practitioners Association of Nigeria that the All Progressive Congress, APC, will soon flood online tabloids with false performance indices, deception and propaganda ahead of the 2019 elections.

Chief Mrs. Angela Ogeyi Odey stated this yesterday in porthacourt while playing host to the PDP youth wing.

She said the choice of the youths to visit her was not misplaced especially as campaign begins.

The publicity scribe stressed that in the past three and a half years, life has been traumatising for Nigerians and Nigerians, adding that a change in government has become inevitable.

“You have also come at a very august time because we are in the campaign session and your association will play a critical role ahead of the election in helping Nigerians to attain their desired goal of voting out the current party and its government at the centre and majority of the states in our federation.

“In the next few days, your organisation will be inundated with all manners of questionable copies such as adverts and stories that will contain false performance indices, outright lies and falsehood, deception and contrivance, blackmail and what have you.

“They will also present to you copies of news items, adverts that contain hate speeches, divisive content, character assassination and fake news. You have a critical role to play here.

I want to beg of you that the APC and its candidates will want to corrupt you with corruption fund that they are currently looting from government ministries, departments and agencies.”

Angela said that the APC in 2014 and 2015 was the purveyor of fake news in Nigeria and they did all that in order to deceive Nigerians at the end.

She continued: “Your visit to us today is very important because you have a responsibility to help Nigerians to create an environment where we will run open issue-based campaign because that is the desire of the PDP.

“Our desire is to ensure that the issue of hunger, the issue of starvation, the low purchasing power, the issue of 97% and 5%, the issues of the education rights of our children, the issue of how Nigeria can generate power for our people; these are the issue-based campaign that we want to run.”

The PDP said it would hold Buhari and the APC accountable, particularly on the promise made to Nigerians especially on security, economy and anti-graft war.

“We will prove to Nigerians that Buhari has failed and failed woefully in all these areas of promises. At some point they have started denying some promises that they made to Nigerians,” she added.
