The Cross River State Security Adviser North to the CRS Governor Ben Ayade, Mr Leo Inyambe on receiving a distress call this morning about a communal clash between NJEGBEJI unit in IGODOR NKUM IBRO community and IKANDANGHA community in Ogoja Local government Area of Cross River State, moved immediately with some officers of the Nigerian police force to the point of seen to control the situation.
The fight had witnessed blood bath, burning of farmlands, destruction of farm products, destruction of houses, before the swift arrival of the SSA North Mr Leo Inyambe in company of some officers of the Nigerian police force.
Mr Leo immediately rushed the injured victims to the hospital for proper treatment.
Mr Inyambe and the officers has invited the elders and chiefs of the two warring communities for a meeting at Ogoja divisional police headquarters by 10am tomorrow.
Mr Leo has demonstrated a highly level of concern and commitment to the safety of his people. His timely response in curtailing this menace is commendable and worthy of emulation by all security personnel. The safety, peace and unity of our people should be an utmost concern to us as individuals, and the security team, this is what Mr Leo and the Nigerian police force has demonstrated. We appreciate the SSAN and officers of the Nigerian Police force for their attention and timely response which has led to total peace and serenity in the two communities.
We urge the two communities to embrace peace for progress. Development can't drive in a warring environment. We advise them to always embrace peaceful resolution without necessarily picking up arms against themselves.
