Project 1000 Pays Courtesy Visit, Lauds SUBEB Boss

Amatey for SUBEB

Members of Project 1000 a solution driven citizenship forum have paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Stephen Odey.

The visit was to commend him for achievements in the basic education sector and contributions to the development of Yala Local Government Area.
Speaking during the visit, the Convener, Project 1000, Dough Onah said the visit became necessary to appreciate Dr Odey for the laudable strides in the basic education sector and his contributions to the development of Yala Local Government area, through infrastructural development, credible teaching workforce, and employment opportunities, amongst others.
Onah stated that the forum was interested in bringing growth and development to Yala Local Government Area and Cross River State through its programmes which include; Spelling bee competition organised for State and Local Government, on-going construction of Library in Yala Local Government Area, ICT training, amongst others.
According to him “We have seen the rapid decline of educational performance in Yala which you have been trying to curtail, in other to arrest this we are trying to reward academic excellence in secondary schools and tertiary institutions by organising competitive events. Last year we hosted the first Cross River State spelling bee in Ikom, we also have chess competition coming up to teach young people critical thinking,” he explained.
While soliciting support for their upcoming project, Ogar Sunday said the forum is making plans to organise a widespread Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training for SS3 students of all Government Secondary Schools to instil ‘digital skills’ which will be beneficial to them when undertaking the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination.
In his words “we have realised that some students have zero access to the internet or the computer before they get to write jamb which is ICT based, so the first time many of them see a computer is when they are writing the Jamb exam and it puts them at a disadvantage among their contemporaries in other States. We are working towards doing a widespread ICT training for secondary school students, we know that with you on board we will be able to achieve this.”
In his response, the Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr Stephen Odey, expressed gratitude to the forum for identifying with him and committing themselves to a noble cause.
He urged them to continue to support the Prof Ben Ayade’s Led administration who, he said, has done so much for the basic education sector and to extend gratitude to the Governor, for giving sons and daughters of Yala an opportunity to serve in this administration.
Dr Odey said the Board has aligned with the global shift to ICT which is why computers have been supplied to some primary and junior secondary schools in the State.
Pledging his support to the Organisation, Dr Odey said “I have listened to all the programmes you have outlined here, I am impressed that young people like you are interested in the development of your community and the state. I will collaborate with you to ensure that you achieve your objective.”

He called on sons and daughters of Yala to embrace unity and work together towards the good of the Community “I am an advocate of peace and oneness in Yala, there should not be any discrimination. There is strength in numbers, we can all work together for the betterment of Yala,” he reiterated.
The SUBEB Boss urged them to remain steadfast and dedicated to their cause despite challenges. He added that hard work, humility and intelligence will take them to greater heights.

By Team Project1000

It was a beautiful sunny day, and the warm reception received by the delegates of project 1000 by the host made it an unforgettable day for our solution driven forum.
Portrait done by Project1000 to be presented to the Governor of Cross River State Prof Ben Ayade.

The team arrived the office of the DG due process at about 11am but meet his absence. He came back at about 2:30pm and we all headed straight to the business of the day.
Portrait done by Project1000 presented to DG Due Process.

He welcomed us with a short speech and Mr dough Onah responded with a brief on why we came to fellowship with him.
After that a beautiful portrait with well crafted inspired words was presented to him.

The presentation was done by Mr Odey O. Ariel on behalf of project 1000 and few shots was taken. He was excited about the brevity of the members of project 1000 and immediately ordered that the portrait be placed at a strategic place in his office.

He spent few minutes to speak extensively to us...striking points he made was as follows.

*That project 1000 and her members should gear up and get involved in governance, because the government of today needs fresh and workable programs.

*That we should get involved in farming specifically yam, yellow maize and soya beans.

*That young professionals within the group should find a way to get their skill to be useful. More opportunities abound in our state than ever before.

*That we the young people shouldn't stop aspiring for greater achievement especially in academics. He categorically pleaded that those with first degree should pursue Masters degree and PHD as the case may be.

Finally he stressed on the 3H's which according to him has been his pillar virtues over the years
Hardwork
Humility
Honesty.
DG Due Process in photo section with some members of Project1000 ta his Office.

We thanked him for his words and Mr Ogar Sunday gave him progress report about the project 1000 farms and other project that the forum is involved in.

The meeting ended with the celebration of the birthdays of two of the delegates (Names). Champagne was popped, glasses clicked and smiles showered.

But before we left, we gave the Governors portrait to the DG, he said he ll deliver himself or try to make way that we present it ourselves. We shall follow up on this.

Many thanks for all of you who made it possible.

God bless you, God bless Yala Nation, God bless Project 1000.

Gabriel Bravo Oluohu AMAC Supervisory Councilor for Health, Mr  SimonPeter Ogar, Mr Ogar Emmanuel,  Augustine Ekpo Ofana among others.

Mr Ebriku John Friday, a Journalist, blogger and social media influencer. Currently the GM/CRO LEADERSHIP Digital Assets and Chairman NUJ LEADERSHIP Chapel. He is also the publisher of TheLeaderng.com. As a lover of God and  committed Christian he seek to be a vessel in God's hand to advance the course of the gospel, motivate and inspire our teeming youth population.
Mr Ebriku delivered a scintillating lecture on the subject "Thuggery and Social Vices". The eagles voice Adoga Michael Oyi captured all the lectures at the event.
Below is Mr Ebriku full lecture at the occasion in Jades Hotel, Abuja.

The alarming intake of codeine and tramadole is commonplace and has given birth to a deranged and painfully dearth of an enterprising and energetic young generation... God is displeased.

2 Corinthians 6:17 - Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

Today it is rare to find a school or an institution void of social vices. This depicts that they are present in all educational centers - Primary, Secondary & Tertiary.

Vice is from a Latin word 'vitium' meaning defect or failing. It is defined as a bad habit or immoral activities. Vices are common among young males and females, examples include prostitution, indecent dressing, robbery, cultism, pocket picking, drug addiction, examination malpractice, hooliganism, thuggery, gambling, smoking, pre-marital sexual activities and rape.

Social vices are bad traits, unhealthy and negative behaviours that are against the morality of a society and frowned at by members of the society.

Peer pressure is the major cause of youth involvement in social vices. Students spend more time with their friends in school or at home. Due to their weak nature and tender age, they can easily be influenced. Children have high level of curiosity to learn, to have fun and practice new things thus making them smoke, drink, have sexual intercourse and so on.

The proverb that says "show me you friends, and I will tell you who you are" shows the significance of friends and how they influence lives. A child tends to behave like his or her friends so as not to be labeled as cowards, JJCs, uncivilized or crude. A child who moves with children with poor academic performance can be like them in no time and will be lured to the short - cuts to success such as examination malpractice.

Being a virgin, which was once a thing of pride has now turned to object of ridicule among students now. An innocent girl will want to experiment what her friends do discuss and may be pushed into sexual activities in tender age.

Another factor is negligence by the parents or a broken home. Most children that engage themselves in vices are from broken homes. Lack of parental care, supervision and attention can make a child engage in social vices. Children from the permissive and uninvolved parenting styles fall mostly into these traps. They move with people, their movements are not queried; their academic progress is not being followed up.

Freedom to do anything without been probe affect children negatively. Negligence of parents can make the wards turn to their friends for love, emotions, care, advice who can lure them into deadly acts.

An abandoned girl can look up to an opposite sex for love and affection. Some maids, house helps, family members who are always around children in the absent of parents can introduce these vices to them. Some may even violate the children sexually, warn and threatened them not to tell anyone. Even if the bold ones are determined to confide in their parents, they may be too busy or occupied to listen and see through things. Many parents have spoilt the lives of their children without them knowing.

Social vices affect the society as a whole and the individual in particular. The mental, physical, academic, moral aspects of an individual are negatively affected. Students divert their time to these vices instead of being serious with academic works.

There is wastage of time which leads to poor academic performance. Deadly diseases that can lead to the termination of lives and career can be contacted. A pregnant lady will face emotional, psychological trauma which will make her lose focus and attention on her studies.

She might eventually stop schooling, get expelled or quit for some period of time. If she is lucky, she may return to school but her mates will be far ahead of her.

Dangerous acts like cultism is rampant in schools.

A secret cult is an organisation of some people who engage in some activities that are secret. Some students are lured while some are forced to join a cult. It is found out that most members of these secret associations are from rich homes. Greater attention is given to the cult to the detriment of academics. Much demand is expected from members.

The cult is their priority while any other things including their studies are secondary. They forget their primary assignment in school by focusing on meeting the needs of other members, fighting and initiation of innocent students.

Being in a secret cult expose a child to other forms of illegal acts such as smoking, alcoholism, rape, taking of illegal substances, hooliganism, thuggery and others . They may lose their lives in fights or when there is a clash with opposing cult(s) and some may be rusticated from schools. They might even progress to higher crimes such as highway and bank robbery.

High rate of social vices can tarnish the image of a family and a country. It can destabilize a home and rumple the peace of a household.

Parents blame each other for their wayward child(ren) which could lead to separation, broken homes and divorce. The health of parents with wayward attitudes are threatened which can further lead to anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, stroke and death.

The absence of a parent or both parents will further implicate matters and will not help in the rehabilitation of the children. The image of a country is reduced by the high number of vices. Other countries look down on such country as being weak, corrupt and deadly.

They sometimes disallow migration to their countries and even if they allow, strict screening exercises are put in place. Investors, both foreigners and citizens, will be scared to invest in a corrupt country.

This will lead to fewer industries and companies that should have provided employment to the citizens, thus leading to high unemployment rate and inhibition of national growth and development.

Illicit drugs, smoking, alcoholism deteriorate the health of the users. They can also lead to the boldness of going for higher crimes. Many lives are lost to cancer and mental disorder.

Many of the students, especially the addicted ones squander their pocket money on drugs and result to theft when they are broke. Rapists and their victims are exposed to sexual diseases like AIDS and other related STDS. Female students might stop education due to early pregnancy.

High numbers of student who engage in evil acts in a school reduce the morality and standard of the school. Parents tend to withdraw their wards from such schools and the change of institution might have negative effects on students.

Social vices need to be curbed. Youths that engage in these dangerous acts need help advice and rehabilitation for the addicted ones. Parents need to know their children’s friends, status, and their academic performances that has changed and impacted negatively on their behavioral pattern.

This is majorly the role of our mothers. Mothers should be close to their children. Close monitoring and time should be given to children by parents. Children should be taught the moral values and the word of God.

Government should organise forums that will enlighten the students on the dangers associated with social vices. Police must be active and be at alert. Schools should have a high level of discipline. Any student seen as threat to others should be cautioned and rehabilitated .

Proffering tested solutions, developing capacity, charting new course for human development and discovering and inventing innovative ideas are the way to go in curbing this menace, hence all hands must be on deck to combat the social menace common in our society. We must assiduously work towards developing a recovery plan and reorientate our teeming youth population and salvage their future. Project 1000 is the right way to go.

Thank you.

Dr Raphael Ogar Oko, Secretary General, Universal Peace Federation - Nigeria, delivered a crystallized lecture on "The fundamental Architecture For Building a Peaceful Yala Society". The eagles voice Adoga Michael Oyi was on ground at Jades Hotel Abuja,to capture the program.
Below is the full speech of Bravo at the event.

1. Introduction

a. Appreciation of organisers and thanks to all participants and supporters of this initiative

b. Background: I was born in Yala, Okpoma, Yala, attended Yala secondary commercial School, Okpoma, benefited from a non-formal Yala community scholarship program for tertiary education and have been involved in several modest community service programs in Yala. In 2015, I was designated one of the heavenly tribal messiahs (UPF initiative)for Yala and recently launched the Yala community Health Support services Ambulance Scheme, among others.
c. I am delighted to be part of the initiative and available to offer myself in ways that add value and advance this inspiring effort. I believe that our society will grow as high as we are able to grow our young people and provide enabling environment for them to develop and utilize their inherent potentials.

2. Peace
         a. The desire for peace is universal and everyone in Yala without exception yearns for peace not only on earth but even after death as evidenced in the usual prayers of rest in peace when anyone passes on. The fundamental reason is that no one can develop in a sustainable way and achieve his or purpose in life without living in peace. In same way, no society can develop without being peaceful.

b. Peace is not just the absence of conflicts, violence, wars and even quarrels and disagreements among people but rather the presence of harmony, cooperation, love, justice, fairness, equity, interdependence, shared values, etc. Peace is the most cherished state of being, desired by everyone beginning from the inner peace within each person and between each mind and body and expanding to between individuals, in families and to the wider society.

c. Unfortunately, despite the universal desire for peace and the quest for peace in our society, we live in a world of conflicts, violence, disagreements, conflicting interests leading to all forms of violence and even wars. These issues have retarded the development of our society as several opportunities are not being utilized due to our focus on our differences more than our common aspirations.

d. There is the need for us to work together in harmony to develop our society. To achieve such, we need to build a peaceful Yala first, where there is harmony, love, cooperation among the people. The requirement for a sustainably developed yala is to establish a peaceful Yala.

e. Throughout history, people have struggled to build a peaceful society but those efforts ended in failure because they did not clearly understand and utilize the fundamental principles for building peaceful societies. What I will like to share with you briefly is the needed peace principles and peace architecture for a peaceful Yala society that can form the foundation for a developed Yala.

3. The Fundamental Peace Principles for a Peaceful Yala

a. We all have a common origin, a common parent - we must recognise that despite our different parental names,  we are all brothers and sisters as well as members of one Yala family.

b. As citizens, we are essentially spiritual beings in human body and must recognise the importance of spiritual values and development and that we are all in transition to the eternal spiritual world.

c. The family is the school of love and peace and the foundation for sustainable development. Without strong family values, no society can grow and develop well.

d. The principles of "living for the sake of others" is the way to peace and development

e. Interdenominational, interreligious, inter family, inter community and their political cooperation is essential for peace in Yala.

4. The Peace Architecture For a Peaceful Yala

a. Building a culture of peace in Yala (Yala Peace Vision YPV)
     I. Yala peaceful code of conduct for all citizens
II. Yala peaceful curriculum of education for families, schools and communities
III. Yala peaceful constitution of associations

b. Strengthening the structure for peace in Yala (Embodying the Peace Vision)

  I. Raising Peaceful individuals
 II. Growing Peaceful Families
III. Establishing Peaceful communities and kingdoms

c. Developing and Utilizing the infrastructure for Peace in Yala (Creating Environment for thenPeace Vision)
    I. Production of Resources in Yala (solid, liquid, gaseous and solar resources)
II. Distribution of Resources in Yala (roads, markets, transportation, technology, etc)
III. Consumption of Resources in Yala (Food and utilization of other resources through investments, etc)

5. Conclusion
     a. We live in a special moment in human history, a moment of transition from the old world wars and underdevelopment and suffering to a new world of peace, development and happiness for all. If we take the lead now in building a peaceful Yala, we can become a model for many societies to learn from.
b. To achieve such, we must:
    I. Invest seriously and consciously in the education of all citizens of Yala through formal, non formal and informal institutions. From this time, we should make a determination that no one in Yala should be allowed to die without basic education. We should also say to ourselves and the government that only one university in our region is not enough. Aside Mary knoll college in Okuku Yala, we can also have Mary knoll university. We should say to ourselves, paying huge transport to Calabar and other places to school shouldn't remain.
II. We need to create an environment for this to happen by positively engaging our elders and VIPs.
III. We must develop a policy for preparing future leaders now.
IV. Also, we need to explore ways of utilizing ICT in Yala and resurrect very urgently that Radio Station in Yala, massively promote internet services and work on the issues of banking services, tertiary education, etc in Yala.

c. At a recent UPF Africa Leadership Assembly held in Dakar, Senegal, we proposed what we called the Heavenly Yala projects, which we hope to work with other stakeholders to implement and make Yala the shining society for all. I am grateful for this opportunity to share with you some of these ideas today and I hope that it may add some values to the work that you are trying to do too.
THANK YOU.

The eagles voice Adoga Michael Oyi was on ground at Jades Hotel Abuja,to capture the program.
Below is the full speech of Bravo at the event...

I want to say a big thank you to the initiator of this laudable programme and the participants who have taken out time to be here this morning.

This programme wouldn't have come at a better time than now, most especially as it is better to be late than never. I sincerely appreciate the organisers for putting up this initiative because they have shared in our purpose for the unity,  betterment and development of our dear people.

With this initiative, I am rest assured that Yala is poised to recover her lost glory because if the older generation had conceived and implemented this idea before now, we wouldn't have been stagnated as it is today,  but like they say, "no man becomes, except he begins". This is indeed the beginning of great beginnings for us as a people to harness our ideas,  plan and motivate our people to achieve a greater and more prosperous Yala Nation.

We must not allow our background to put us backwards, rather it should be a motivation and propelling factor to strive to achieve heights never thought of, we must push for a purpose driven polity and eschew bitter rivalry for selfish gains, our story from this moment hence shall be that of unity of purpose and the good of our fatherland, words like I, me, my, and mine should be replaced with we, our, and ours. This is the solution for individualism.

We as youths must do everything possible to outshine our forebears and current crop of leaders, how can we achieve this? With determination, courage, and can do attitude, we must kill fear and the only thing we must do, is to kill the fear in us in order to be bold and fearless to chart a course for more unified and prosperous Yala, we are often times too careful and seem to be too satisfied with everything including nothing, we sing praises to our own detriment where we are supposed to condemn and ask for more like Olivier Twist, we prefer peanuts and food on the table to a permanent job, we are too afraid to be successful, too timid to speak up against our failed and failing leaders, we mistake constructive criticisms to insults and prefer to die in silence.

That leaders of tomorrow and future leaders that our leaders promised and deceived us decades ago must and should start today for the future is now, for some of us we have started years back to be self-reliant and independent, we have as well taken bold step against all odds to speak against the ills of those in authority, we have been able to give some of our brothers and sisters jobs directly and indirectly, for us no sacrifice is too big and we are not resting on our oars. It has been quite challenging but the rewards and gains that accrue to our people are gratifying.

The task ahead for rebuilding, refocusing, re-energizing and strengthening our developmental strides begins this moment and I enjoin all to be watchful and prayerful, bearing in mind that to be successful in business, politics, and life, it is not about the godfather you worship or the godmother you sing praises to but God Almighty, for it is better to be indebted to man than to be indebted to God.

THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS US ALL

Yala Urban Development Project under the aegis of Impact World Foundation for Youth development, tag #Project1000 - a project aimed at rebuilding, re-strategizing and putting together a blueprint for effective development of yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The program was attended by dignitaries, keynote speakers and members of the think-tank of the group behind the idea of the #project1000. The dignitaries included Distinguished Senator Rose Oko P. Hd ably represented by her Lawyer Barr Joseph Ogar and her P. A political Barr Alex, the Cross River State DG Due Process, Barr. Eba, Barr. Godwin Offiono, AMAC supervisory councilor for health Hon Bravo, Dr. Raphael Ogar of the UN Peace Foundation, Mr  SimonPeter Ogar, Mr Ogar Emmanuel,  Augustine Ekpo Ofana among others. The eagles voice blog Adoga Michael Oyi was live to capture the happenings at the event.

Prince George Ogonyi, management consultant and business adviser, who is also aspiring to represent Yala 1state constituency at the Cross River State House of Assembly in the forthcoming 2019 elections, advised the initiators of project1000 to be focused in order to actualize the objective of  the project. He said for the project to be successful, everyone should be carried along in all the 14 wards - the Ugelle, Yala, Yache and Gabu speaking, non-indigenes and people of other languages in the Local Government Area. He emphasized that all groups were critical to the unity and development of the community.

He advised further that going into politics, people should aim to impact the society to be recognized and not the other way round. Also, an agenda from an intellectual group of this kind will set the pace for meaningful development of the Local Government Area.

Prince George Ogonyi advised that, project1000 should identify at least a project in every ward and come up with a blueprint of our natural resources and other developmental strategies for either the government, companies or individual intervention as the case may be. Such a blueprint could create easy access to leaders of the Local Government.

In addition, Prince Ogonyi highlighted the following points:

I.. To shun procrastination, as procrastination is the greatest killer of dreams.

II.. That action, not talk, should be the focus -members should talk less and work more.

III.. Independence should be the watch word if the project must succeed. No relying solely on politicians for the achievement of  project1000, else the initiative may be hijacked and the purpose not achieved.

IV..  Appreciate past achievements. Past achievement by former leaders, incumbent leaders and everyone should be appreciated, for the continuous growth of Yala.

Unless all the items above are given keen attention, efforts would be wasted, he stated.

He volunteered to be an active member of the project, whether he wins election or not, in his words, "When I become a member of the House of Assembly, a reasonable percentage of my salary will be donated to the Impact World Foundation for Youth development, directly from the bank -  to further aid the foundation to continue her humanitarian activities because I believe in it".

As a management consultant and business adviser, he offereded to speak to the Youth in the next meeting on  the impact of entrepreneurial development and youth creativeness as a means to community Co-existence.

He concluded by thanking all participants, Impact World Foundation team, members of the think-tank and all Yala sons and daughters, who have decided to put Yala first. He prayed that God Almighty will guide everyone towards the actualization of the dream.

Project 1000 Abuja Conference.

The Good, The Dad And The Ugly.

Permit me to disturb you a little with my ranting.

I know how you feel about me especially my consistent discussion about my lovely community.

Yes, I am #Judefied but that doesn't mean I should neglect the core value of my community.

Truth be told, I don't have any community excerpt Yala.

I hold Yala in the high esteem and respect and would never do anything or be party to anything that would undermine her progress.

We all know that communities are stronger not when they embrace hatred and distrust, but when they welcome diversity and address difficult problems based on the principles of equal rights and equal opportunity.

Our community will make the most progress when every one of us can contribute and share ideas, and have their basic rights and dignity respected.

We must embrace ideas that unify us and make us stronger.

To live better, we must live United.

With the confrontational political environment stirring around us, the #Jidefied, the #Rosified and other political affiliation dividing us along the part, something must be done to salvage the situation.

Just as Hon. Gabriel Bravo Oluohu  said in his paper presentation, we have to remain vigilant, we must speaks whenever our leaders  derail from their responsibilities.

DG  Alphonsus Ogar Eba   talk on solidarity work was another bombshell.

He was known to be an orator but yesterday, he was more of spiritual and moral.

According to him, we must engaged our leaders  with decorum and total respect,  encouraging problem solving and providing them with support.

We can make them into good listeners as well as good leaders.

Project1000 is our collectives pet project and we must all key into this wonderful initiative.

The mission and vision of this initiative is to  ensure that our Youths the future leaders of #Yala feel comfortable.

We should all be careful about what we say, but the fact of the matter is, let's not get so concerned or too sentimental in our various supports.

If your answer to the questions below is no, then kindly think #project100.

Are we making every effort to live in unity and oneness? If your answer is no, then Project 1000, is the answer.

Do we create suspicion and division rather than unity and oneness?

If our answer is no, then #Project1000 is the only solution.

Are we making every effort to live in unity and oneness with all generations?

Or do we act like our generation is always the best?

Do we inspire other generations by wanting to know how we can walk together as one at this time in history?

If your answer is no again, then our only solution is project1000.

#YesTogetherWecan.

You Are Like Abraham.

 YALA.

June 10,2018
I am honoured to be among distinguished Yala sons and daughters as we usher in our collective vision through project 1000.
For me, this meeting is a call to contribute to Yala’s destiny, to deploy my professional and managerial competencies, experience, and wide range of networks to give attraction to the Yala~Agenda.
I take it as an honour and sincerely hope and pray that God will grant me the opportunity to serve and contribute to the realisation of Yala’s prosperity, growth and sustainable peace and stability.
I, therefore, want to express my gratitude for the messages of goodwill and the sound advice I have received across the Yala nation and from all of you here that has crystallised my vision for Yala. I also charge you to join me in the journey of realising Yala’s destiny created by the collective action of all of us.
As I traversed the entire Yala Nation in My desire for public service, I have encountered the genuine spirit of our people, their generosity, warmth, kindness, resilience and optimism. While this beauty and diversity is so endearing, our people are unable to experience its depth due to shortage of links to aid movement of people, goods, services and capital, but today through our collective efforts and desire for a change our digital Governor has changed our stories through massive infrastructure,we must all for this reason make community service our most priority, Enabling interaction among our people and especially our youth is a debt that we owe to the present and future generations.
We have to carry and pass on the baton of the founding fathers of Yala, who recognised the strength of collaboration and common dialogue during their younger years. Their interaction, aided by intellectual quest and the dream of a free and dignified Yala brought us liberation, freedom and political independence.
Many paid the ultimate price to grant us the freedom we thrive in today.
Today, the possibilities of Yala’s growth and prosperity are real. We are a National hub of innovation, entrepreneurial talent and creativity. Yala youth are taking advantage of available resources to curve out transposable solutions to some of our most pressing challenges. In sum, our youth are our currency. This century is theirs and Yala’s! To harness their potential, we must collaborate both politically and economically.
We must work in partnership and integrate in a manner that catalyses Yala’s synergy and diversity.
Beyond the efforts that must be undertaken within our various Communities, common solutions reside in our collective wisdom embodied in our collective identity. Our priority should be to our people: To empower and afford them real opportunities to grow, to prosper and to live in dignity.
This is a sacred call of duty that can only be accomplished together, without leaving anyone behind. A leader is not one who makes the farthest strides to the front but one who brings everyone along to the desired destination. That is the approach that we must embrace in order to build the Yala of our dreams.
This must be our vision and action as we embark on this New Journey. To shape the common destiny of Yala; the destiny of the Yala people. Our heritage, our history, our views and our shared values can and must inform our approach to solving our most pressing challenges. Join us in creating the Yala destiny within the framework of our collective Mission and vision
“For last generation’s actions belong to last generation’s and next generation’s action await our collective decision today.”
