UNICAL: Adoga Stephen appointed SSA to Ofem led PGSG

The university of Calabar postgraduate students Government ably led by Comrade Ofem Usani Joseph has appointed an erudite mathematician, lecturer and post graduate Student Adoga Stephen, in the institution as senior Special Adviser on Digital communication and satellite maintenance.

Comrade Adoga couldn't curtail his joy, broke the news on his Facebook wall...
"I've been found worthy to serve as SSA on digital communication and satellite maintenance to the Ofem Usani led PGSG in the prestigious university of Calabar, Calabar." He posted.

Comrade Ofem Usani Joseph led excos is poised to run an inclusive government devoid of sentiment.

 Recently, his government gave an account of their 100 days stewardship. They recounted various projects conceived and implemented.

Of recent Ofem led excos has refurbished the common lounge of female hostel making it attractive for activities to take place. Indeed Ofem led excos has come to change narratives in Post Graduate School.

The Creative Industry Group CIG, Cross River State chapter has appointed two popular bloggers as publicity secretary and data manager respectively. Mr Adoga Michael Oyi of the Eagles Voice news is PUBLICITY SECRETARY, while Mr Jake Clifford of Weetalknaija Daily News is Director, DATA MANAGEMENT.
Mr Adoga Michael Oyi, the newly appointed CIG publicity Secretary.

The appointment takes immediate effect according to state coordinator Mr Odama Groovydee Abednigo Oga.

BREAKING : Unical VC bags international appointment

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Zana Akpagu has been appointed as Chairman of the U6+Consortium of African Universities.

The appointment was announced at the 7th U6 +consortium international conference currently holding in Unical.

The conference, which is the first of its kind, have over 200 erudite scholars and academics from America , Europe and Africa in attendance including renowned Professors Augustine Arukwu from Norway, Dina Burger from South Africa and Hilary Iyang from Ethiopia who presented the conference keynote address.

U6 Consortium was launched in March 10, 2012 by six African universities who initially came together as a collaborative platform but was later increased to eight and now known as U6+Consortium.

The U6+Consortium comprises of Cape Peninsula University of Technology, South Africa; University of Eldoret, Kenya; Kwara State University, Malete, and The University of The Gambia, The Gambia.

Others are University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast, Ghana; University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Nigeria, Nigeria, University of Calabar, Nigeria and Michael and Cecilia Ibru University, Nigeria.

The U6+ Consortium is aimed at fostering academic linkages and educational collaboration among these iniversities on many areas including facilitating and coordinating joint researches, human capacity and curriculum developments.

Others include organising seminars, academic interactive sessions, and other professional development programmes.

According the sub-publicity committee chairman, Dr Otoburu Okoiliya, the four-day conference is slated for Setpember 2-6, 2019 at UNICAL International conference Centre with the theme "Harnessing African potentials in science, technology and humanities."

Just In: Odama Groovydee Abednigo "OGA" appointed pioneer coordinator of Cross River State chapter of Creative Industry Group (CIG).



A group that seeks ways of repositioning the creative industry in several ways most especially to enable practitioners to be financially independent has been birthed in Nigeria with lofty programs to achieve it's set goals.

The group is made up of great industry giants from music, broadcasting, publishing, movies etc. In his words, Groovydee said, I was woken up this morning and interviewed by the Chairman, a music artist/promoter and entrepreneur: Mr Felix Duke who immediately asked him to resume the group's leadership in Cross River State with immediate effect.

The likes of Charley Boy "Area Fada, Ruggedman, Zeb Ejiro, Sunny Nneji, the pioneer Chairman; Legend Felix Duke and a host of others made up it's membership.


The organization has announced it's first phase of action as regards the industry.

CIG headquarters Lagos said; Moving forward The National Entertainment Training Summit and Awards in partnership with The Creative Industry Group (CIG) is bringing into the industry a flagship event themed "Driving Entrepreneurship in Entertainment"  which is centered on equipping members as well as up coming acts with entrepreneurship skills that would become an alternate means of income.

Event will be coming up on the 28th of September 2019 in Lagos Nigeria's entertainment capital and digital banners will be released soon.

On his part, Chairman of CIG, Music Legend: Mr Felix Duke said, there would also be an award ceremony in honour of veteran's and people who have positively impacted the industry after the summit.  He asserted that we live in a nation where the culture of honouring hero's is lacking but we intend to cause a ripple effect of change.

Duke further announced that all sectors under the Creative Industry Group (CIG) are coming up with programs and events for impact. The various heads would be espousing on this in a short while so all of us can key into our various sectors and align with the vision.

I hereby appreciate the Chairman, leadership and members of CIG for finding me worthy of the elevation as Coordinator for the most beautiful and peaceful state in Nigeria and promise never to betray the trust. I also thank Sen. Prof. Ben AYADE, Governor of Cross River State for the platform that was more than food on the table.
