It has been a beehive of activities and celebration galore as the Governor elect Sen Prof Ben Ayade and other Legislators received Certificate of Return as winners of the just concluded state governorship and State House elections.

The event which took place at the Mike Igini hall of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)Muritala Muhamed Highway, was well attended by well wishers, party members and other dignitaries.

Hon Peter Odey of Ogoja State Constituency, Hon Regina Anyogo of Yala 1 State consistency, and friends in photo section after receiving their certificate of return from INEC.

After receiving the Certificate, the Governor treated guests to a light refreshment to mark the event at the Perugino Hall, governor’s lodge.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented Lagos State governor-elect, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Deputy Governor-elect, Femi Hamzat their Certificate of Return on Friday.

Recall that Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Jimi Agbaje in the March 9 governorship election in the state.

Sanwo-Olu polled 739,445 votes to overcome Agbaje, who polled 206,141 votes.

World Theatre Day 2019 may have come and gone but one question lingers in the minds of all concerned practitioners following the low  turn out of celebrities in the event. In Nigeria, practitioners who have become famous for their crafts  seem to turn their back on their associations once they are made. They become too busy or pompous  all of sudden to the organizations that moulded them to fame and affluence. For instance, in the Nollywood association known as the Actors Guild of Nigeria AGN, the umbrella body for all actors in Nigeria, stars find it difficult to attend meetings and special events organized by the guild. There seem to be a law prohibiting them from participating in the activities of the organization they once pledged allegiance to. Sometimes they even demand some  fees before they would honour invitations to attend events of the association. It is not so in the western world. In the US for instance, celebrity like Arnold Schwarzenegger championed the welfare of American Actors before he was elected Governor. Our celebrities should not be feeling to big or busy to attend meetings and special events of associations that made them. Without those associations, most of them  would not have become celebrities today.
They should understand that their presence and involvement in the activities of the associations that made them will not only spur up the up and coming acts but will prove their gratitude to their maker.  Associations should not be left for the up and coming acts alone.
When called upon to deliver his speech in the World Theatre Day held on the 27th March 2017,  Emeka Ejezie Rollas, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria AGN pointed out the need for celebrities to always relate with the industries that made them. In the Actors Guild of Nigeria which I am a member, most meetings and end of year parties are without the big names like Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade, Pete Edochie, Olu Jacobs, Mercy Johnson, Jim Iyke,  Patience Ozorkwor,  Ramsey Nouah, Funky Akindele, Ali Nuhu and other celebrities.
In PAN where are the likes of 2baba, Psquare, flavour, Banky W, Don Jazzy, Wizkid, Davido, Olamide, Idris in meetings? In comedy where are the likes of AY, Gordons, Ali Baba, Basketmouth,  I Go die?  Where are all those super stars in theater, television, dance etc?
And I ask can one be bigger than his father or too busy to visit  his family house?

As a filmmaker, I have watched over time the way celebrities look down on associations and the up and coming acts, particularly in Nollywood and the creative industry in general. It's practically unfair.  They feel attending meetings will equate them with the up and coming practitioners. But it's not true. Doing so will only prove their humility amidst fame and affluence.

In conclusion, celebrities in the movie, Theatre, television, music, modeling, dance, comedy and other related industries must as a matter of urgency return to their root, I Mean their foundation, the association that saw them to limelight and help contribute to the growth and sustainability of the trade.

OBUBRA—A bloody communal clash between the people of Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and their neighbours from Osopong 1 & 2 in Obubra Local Government Area of Cross River State is feared to have left 3 persons dead, 3 severely injured and scores of houses reportedly set ablaze.

The bloody clash which was said to have erupted on the 24th of March, 2019 has reportedly left the communities in Osopong 1 & 2 deserted by the Izzi people as the people were said to have fled the community.

Consequently, the people of Obubra have sent a save our soul, SOS, to the Cross River State Government to urgently rescue them from being wiped out by Izzi people.

According to the Mbembe People Assembly, MPA President, Hon King Omenyi from the area informed weetalknaija Blog that “over 3 persons have been killed, 3 severely injured in the fracas while several houses and yam banks worth millions of naira have been set ablaze in Ofonekom, Idoru and Ijutum communities.

"Recalled that, the governor, Ben Ayade had called for a reconciliation meeting which was held in Port Harcourt, to see how the major waring communities would embrace a long lasting peace, yet the Wawas are still invading and killing our people", Omenyi added.

“After that, they went and reinforced and launched an unprovoked attack with sophisticated weapons, killing and destroying houses. The casualties we have recorded in this attack are only on our own side. If the government fails to intervene immediately, our communities may be wiped out because of the tension coming from the Wawas".

“We want the government to bring the National Boundary Commission to, as a matter of urgency, come and demarcate our boundary with Ebonyi State as the best permanent solution to constant clashes between us and the Ebonyi people,” Omenyi said

Nigerian Politics over the years has come with a lot of intrigues, characters and manipulations that has kept the citizenry wondering if this is how politics elsewhere is played. The history of Nigerian Politics from 1992 to date will never be told (that is, if there is still anything like history) without the mentioning of the name Bola Ahmed Tinubu.  From the 1993 Abiola elections to the NADECO time of the Abacha era and to the 1999 elections where he became governor of Lagos State and up til now, His name rings bell negatively or positive whenever Nigerian Politics is mentioned. His contributions to Nigerian Politics is negative to those who sees his contribution as negative and positive, to those who sees his contributions as positive. One thing is very certain about him, he commands respect and loyalty amongst his supporters.

Naturally and politically, a leader's worth is measured by the amount of postitive impact he/she can cause in the live of the people and the number of people he is able to touch. Bola Ahmed Tinubu whether a good or bad person, has one distinct gift in him that is deficient in all other of our politicians north and south, that is, His ability to identify potential leaders, create and make them leaders without any fear of internal competition. This character in him has earned him a lot of respect and loyalty and has made him remain very relevant in the political scene for over a decade now.

My active participation in the 2019 elections gave me an insight to what most politicians fears the most.  1. is competition and the second one is commitment. Politicians sees smaller leaders arroun d them as threats and fear that they would one day wake up to compete against them and for that reason, will do everything within their reach to make sure that their followers perpetually remains followers and dependent on them.

This attitude of our politicians is one of the causal reason to why His Excellency, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar could not defend most of his votes in the states. A Situation where his managers in APCO saw Atiku support groups as beggars and competitors that must not be given any chance to succeed. To them, Atiku must not be allowed to have a one on one contact with his support groups which actually happened. Note: this is cited in passing and has nothing to do with the article.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu after the 2019 presidential elections , saw the performances of the opposition ,fearing that he may loose Lagos State and some other South West States triggered the inbuilt character in him that is lacking in most of our politicians by going out of his comfort zone to meet one on one with his field soldiers, dedicated duties committed himself so much to warrant respect and loyalty from them and triggered the arrangement of give and take. While he was doing this, the opposition were still busy going to market place to look for market crowds and avoided their foot soldiers like plague.

His ability to termed greed in him when it comes to satisfying supporters, identify potential youthful leaders and make them leaders at different level without fear of internal competition, make use of their youthful energy and exuberance is legendary. This youths will put their youthful energy to work and also exhibit the exuberance in them positively or negatively when it comes to defending anything about Tinubu so as to make sure that food remains on their table. Who no like better thing?

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has earned for himself respect and loyalty from his supporters and South West people of Nigeria, he is the Asiwaju of Lagos and south West politics and the Jagaban Borgu. His political influence is gradually enveloping Nigeria and 2023 is pregnant if Christ tarries.

It was a beautiful sunny day, and the warm reception received by the delegates of project 1000 by the host made it an unforgettable day for our solution driven forum.

The team arrived the office of the DG due process at about 11am but meet his absence. He came back at about 2:30pm and we all headed straight to the business of the day.

He welcomed us with a short speech and Mr dough Onah responded with a brief on why we came to fellowship with him.
After that a beautiful portrait with well crafted inspired words was presented to him.

The presentation was done by Mr Odey O. Ariel on behalf of project 1000 and few shots was taken. He was excited about the brevity of the members of project 1000 and immediately ordered that the portrait be placed at a strategic place in his office.

He spent few minutes to speak extensively to us...striking points he made was as follows.

*That project 1000 and her members should gear up and get involved in governance, because the government of today needs fresh and workable programs.

*That we should get involved in farming specifically yam, yellow maize and soya beans.

*That young professionals within the group should find a way to get their skill to be useful. More opportunities abound in our state than ever before.

*That we the young people shouldn't stop aspiring for greater achievement especially in academics. He categorically pleaded that those with first degree should pursue Masters degree and PHD as the case may be.

Finally he stressed on the 3H's which according to him has been his pillar virtues over the years

Honesty.

The meeting ended with the celebration of the birthdays of two of the delegates (Names). Champagne was popped, glasses clicked and smiles showered.

But before we left, we gave the Governors portrait to the DG, he said he ll deliver himself or try to make way that we present it ourselves. We shall follow up on this.

We have multiple meetings per day but we forget the most important one, and that's the meeting with ourselves.

We are so busy trying to build so many other relationships but we often forget the most important one, a relationship with ourselves.
Sometimes we have to be alone to find our worth.

When we have that time, that energy, that space, we are able to learn about ourselves quicker, faster and more effectively.

The truth is, when we find someone in our loneliness, we often attract emptiness.

Prof. T.A. Ojua was accompanied by the leadership of his Executive, National Association of Social works comprising of Academia's, Doctorate and Professional social workers on Wednesday 27th March 2019.

Prof. T. A Ojua Congratulated the former Gender Boss on her new elevation to Chairman, he expressed it as an appointment well deserved as she did so well piloting the affairs of the Gender Dept in the State, that Helen Isamoh was one of their best product in the Dept that the university had produced. He further stressed his keen interest on social works thus to improvise the citizens of Cross River state standard of living also, He strongly emphasize on the need to have an office settlement in CR State, Internship slots for undergraduates & graduates to explore, Correctional centres, A functional rehabilitational centre in CR State to enable the social welfare develop in the state, he highlighted that the above mentioned prayers should  be address to the Governor through the office of the former SA on Gender Development, Mrs. Helyn Agan so as to keep the welfare package of the state more functional and supportive to the society.

He further, unleash on his executive proposed visit to IGP Camp, Motherless Babies, Skolobo Camp and Orphanages to enable them exercise their services on social welfare and its development of the less privilege to be equal in the society.

Prof. Ojua, unfold his path to accomplish his core objectives on social work in the state via local government, ward council collaboration and partnership. He further, appeal to the former Gender Boss to continue in togetherness and call for support to achieve this core purpose on social works.

John expressed that, it's quite unfortunate that such organisation should be question by its ultraconservative electoral post.  He added that, "NUCJ Its not know to the ethnics norms and rule's of a professional journalism  to display results of candidate that won the just concluded S.U.G aspirates debate's election."

He expressed that, The Nigerian union of campus journalist as a matter of fact is in no way should be involve in unfolding of election debate result which even he is handicap to do so.

He unfolded his core reasons for the condemnation as; "The campus journalist as successfully
indirectly advertised and campaign to  all the S.U.G aspirate who won the  electoral debate to a Johnny just come student's to vote for those candidates which is in breach to the code of ethics for journalist and reporter's act."
He further said; student's voting for the highest point winner of the just concluded debate could be the reflective action's of the NUCJ.

He sampled, The  2019 Nigerian Vice's presidential debate anchor by a learned journalist who displayed and show's the professional attitude of our  Nigerian journalist by not announcing the winner rather permitting the Masse's to decide for themselves the winner. However, after the debate it beyond reasonable doubt that if a winner should have emerge the P.D.P  Vice's presidential candidate would have likely have the edged over other's.

He praised, the altitude of the journalist by not announcing the result of the Vice's presidential winner of the debate reflecting that they are not just a journalist par excellence but a guru and professional at their job not to pass a wrong signal to the electorate's.

He added that, Media professionalism is the conduct of media coverage and activities according to high standards of ethics, accountability, legality and credibility, while exercising rights such as freedom of expression and information. He said, We must also be aware of the impending danger it might lead to other's candidate's who might have a lower point  at the debate by publishing their total score's thereby discouraging their supporters to vote  for their desire candidate.

Hon. Muhmmad Dantani, a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing the Yauri/Shanga/Ngaski Federal Constituency of Kebbi State, has died, family sources said.

Early mourners are Deputy Senate Leader Bala Ibn Na’Allah representing Kebbi South, and Hon. Muhammad S/Fawa, former Kebbi State House of Assembly member representing Fakai constituency, among others.

Na’Allah prayed to Allah to grant Dantani eternal rest, and the family, Emir of Yauri, the people of Yauri Emirate, Kebbi State and his colleagues at the House of Representatives the fortitude to besr the loss.



Born in 1957, Dantani, popularly known as Yellow, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), died at an Abuja hospital around 5:47pm on Thursday after a protracted illness.

He graduated from Government Secondary School Koko and Inurno Teachers College in 1976 and1978 respectively.

He attended Institute of Administrators, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, and graduated in 1984. In the year 1999, when Nigeria returned to democracy, Dantani was elected as a member of Kebbi State House of Assembly. During his term of office, he became the Speaker of the SHouse.

He was later elected into the Federal House of Representatives to represent the Yauri/Shanga/Ngaski Federal Constituency of Kebbi State, under the platform of APC.

“Burial arrangement will be announced later,” the family source said.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has provided a breakdown of how the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) allegedly reduced his votes in 31 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Atiku made the claim in a petition he and his party filed before the presidential election tribunal.

According to him, data from INEC server showed that he actually polled a total of 18,356,732 votes, to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari, who had 16,741,430 votes.

However, the official result declared by INEC from the 36 states and the FCT, states showed that Buhari polled 15,191,847, while Atiku came second with 11,262,978 votes.

A breakdown of the 174-page document showed the electronic collation of results state by state as of February 25.

In Abia State, the petition claimed Atiku recorded 664,659 votes in the electronic results from the server, against the 219,698 votes announced by the commission.

In Adamawa, Atiku said he got 646,080 votes, instead of 410,266; Akwa Ibom 587,431 votes, instead of 395,832; Anambra 823, 668 votes, instead of 524,738; Bayelsa 332, 618 votes, instead of 197, 933; Benue 529,970 votes, instead of 356, 817; Borno 281,897 votes, instead of 71, 788; Cross River 572, 220 votes, instead of 295, 737 recorded by the commission.

In other states, the document said Atiku had 778,369 votes in Delta, instead of 594, 068; in Ebonyi 565, 762 instead of 258, 573; Edo 677,937, instead of 275,691; Enugu 698,119 instead of 355,553; FCT 419,724 against 259,997; Gombe 684,077 against 138,484; Imo 485,627 against 334,923; Jigawa 539,522 against 289,895; Kaduna 961,143 against 649,612; Kano 522,889 against 391,593; Katsina 160,203.

Kebbi 493,341 against 154,282; Kogi 504,308 against 218,207; Kwara 353,173 against 138,184; Lagos 1,103,297 against 448,015; Nasarawa 344,421 against 283,847; Niger 576,308 against 218,052; Ogun 438,099 against 194,655; Ondo 451,779 against 275,901; Oyo 527,873 against 366,690; Sokoto 552,172 against 361,604; Taraba 442,380 against 374,743; Yobe 306,841 against 50,763 and Zamfara 379,022 against 125,123.

Also, the petition claimed INEC manipulated the numbers of the party in Osun and Plateau States.

In Osun, the document said the party recorded 337,359 votes in the data available in the server, but the commission credited the party with 337,377 votes; likewise in Plateau, the party garnered 273,031 votes, against the 548,665 recorded by INEC in its final collation.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refused to join the All Progressive Congress (APC) and its candidate Adegboyega Oyetola in appealing against the judgment of the Osun State Governorship Election Tribunal which last week ruled in favour of Ademola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

It would be recalled that INEC was the first respondent in the case instituted at the           Tribunal by Adeleke and PDP

The APC and Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola on Thursday appealed against the March 22 judgement by the election tribunal. The Tribunal had, by a majority judgment of two members, voided the election of Oyetola and pronounced Ademola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) winner. It then asked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue him a certificate of return.

A reliable source within INEC who spoke with our correspondence on the basis of anonymity because he was not mandated to speak to the media on the issue confided that the Electoral body is not appealing because it knows that it has a very bad case.

“What do you want us to appeal against”? Go and study the full judgement, you will see that INEC has a very bad case. Appealing will further dent our image”, the source said.

In a 39-ground notice of appeal filed by lawyers, led by Wole Olanipekun (SAN), the APC and Oyetola faulted the majority judgment given by Justices Peter Obiora and Anyinla Gbolagunte on the grounds that it was perverse, replete with contradictions and not supported by evidence led by the petitioners.

APC and Oyetola want the Court of Appeal to uphold their appeal, set aside the majority judgment and dismiss the October 16, 2018 petition by PDP and Adeleke
