PRESS STATEMENT ON THE CONDUCT OF THE OSUN STATE ELECTION RERUN.

The police and army prevented PDP agents from watching the polling booths. APC thugs threatened and beat PDP voters. Journalists and election observers were prevented from monitoring and covering the process. Many of them were manhandled and beaten up. The APC openly bribed voters with 100,000 naira each. Is this an election? No sir!

The truth is there was no election in Osun today.
It was violence all through. It was daylight robbery and theft. It was a violation of the dignity, rights and sovereingty of the people of Osun state and Yorubaland.

As a people we have been down this road before in 1964,1983 and 1993 and there were serious and severe consequences. Those that have done this today have refused to learn from the lessons of history and I have little doubt that sooner or later there will once again be grave consequences and they will reap what they have sown.

This is no longer about PDP or APC but about the dignity and liberation of the Yoruba people. Those amongst us that have chosen to collaborate with the barbarians that seek to keep us in slavery and bondage will pay a heavy price.

We are not intimidated. They stole our votes, robbed us of our victory, raped our dignity, rubbished our self-respect and violated our rghts. Many of our people were insulted, intimidated, humiliated, beaten, wounded and maimed and our supporters were chased away from the polling booths by thugs and security agents.

They subjected us to all this but we remain confident and strong. Our heads have been bloodied but they are not bowed. There will be a day of reckoning for this great evil that has been visited upon our people and that day will soon come.Whatever they do or say we know that God is with us and He will never forsake us.
In the end justice shall be done and the victory shall be ours. Buhari, Tinubu, Oshiomole, Aregbesola and their APC are playing with fire and that fire will soon consumme them.

Kwara Approves Employment of 1,850 Teachers

Kwara Approves Employment of 1,850 Teachers
   By Eje Peter
The Kwara State governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has approved the employment of 1,850 basic and senior secondary school teachers in the state to fill teacher shortages in sciences subjects and create fresh employment in the state.
Ahmed approved the employment following separate requests by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) and the Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TSC), according to a statement by his senior special assistant on Media and Communication, Dr Muyideen Akorede on Wednesday.
The two organisations based their requests on existing teacher shortages in the state, especially in English Language and Science subjects. According to the statement, Governor Ahmed approved the recruitment of 1,500 SUBEB teachers and 350 Senior Secondary School teachers.
The teacher shortages in the state persist despite recent interventions by the state government through its Kwara State Youth Empowerment Program (KWAYEP) and the federal governments NPower Scheme, prompting the state governor to grant the fresh approval for employment. Ahmed also directed SUBEB and TSC to ensure that due process is followed in the recruitment while ensuring spread across the 193 wards in the state.

JONATHAN ALMOST JAILED BUHARI, ATIKU A FOR TREASON - ABDUSALAMI ABUBAKAR P. C. REVEALS

September 25, 2018
THE General Abdulsalami Abubakar-led National Peace Committee, has revealed that former President Goodluck Jonathan almost arrested and jailed President Muhammadu Buhari and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for treason before the 2015 elections.
According to the committee, the former left the duo and other leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) off the hook in consideration of national interest.
The committee, which disclosed this at the presentation of its report on the 2015 general elections in Abuja on Tuesday, also stated that Jonathan conceded defeat and called to congratulate President Buhari without its knowledge.
This, the committee said was contrary to wide media reports that the peace committee exerted influence on the former President to concede defeat.
According to a report, tagged: “2015 General Elections: The Untold Story”, published by The Kukah Centre, the National Peace Committee said it didn’t convince Jonathan to concede defeat to Buhari contrary to popular media reports.
According to the committee, its primary concern has always been how to get the defeated candidates to accept the outcome of the election by conceding promptly and unequivocally so that the winner would naturally have a much easier task to be magnanimous in victory.
The committee said: “The committee in the evening of March 31 requested audience with President Jonathan at the Villa.
”As it awaited confirmation for the meeting with the president, the Committee Chairman, General Abdulsalam Abubakar, GCFR also put a call through to General Buhari who informed him that President Jonathan had only minutes earlier called to concede the elections.
“He particularly asked the Committee to please convey his good wishes to President Jonathan for his great act of statesmanship.
“Shortly after that, members of the committee who were greatly relieved, headed to the Villa where they met privately with President Jonathan and thanked him for his great courage.
“At this point, the Buhari Campaign team were yet to address the press on the historic development and as such, many Nigerians got the news of the concession from General Abubakar’s brief media session with State House Correspondents which perhaps helps create the wrong, but widespread impression that the committee sat with President Jonathan at the Villa as the results came in and had directly prevailed on him to concede.”

The report further disclosed how Jonathan, in a meeting with the committee cited “national interest” as reason he stopped his earlier decision to press home with treasonable charges against the then APC presidential candidate, Buhari and other leaders of the party, over threats to form a parallel government if they didn’t win the election.
According to the 51-page document, Jonathan jettisoned the plan “in the interest of peace and national stability.”
Part of page 13 of the report reads: “A meeting with Jonathan was held at the Aso Rock Villa in the afternoon of Wednesday, March 25, 2015.
“At the meeting, he (Jonathan) raised some issues concerning the state of the nation, the threat of violence by the opposition (APC then) based on allegations that he (Jonathan) and his party were planning to rig the elections.
“He (Jonathan) noted that he took very seriously the threat by leading members of the opposition to form a parallel government in the event that they didn’t win the elections, but that he chose not to react to such apparent treasonable acts in the interest of peace.”

Minimum wage: Labour orders nationwide strike

The Nigeria Labour Congress has directed all its members and affiliate unions to commence a nationwide strike on Thursday ( today ) .
The organised labour had held a meeting with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige , in Abuja on Wednesday , which did not produce the expected outcome .

The NLC President , Ayuba Wabba , said the industrial action would commence due to the refusal of the Federal Government to reconvene the meeting of the tripartite national minimum wage committee to enable it to conclude its work.
He said , “ In compliance with this mandate , all workers and private sector at all levels across the country have been directed to comply .
“ All public and private institutions , offices , banks , schools , public and private business premises , including filling station , are to remain shut till further notice , ” Wabba said at a news conference in Abuja on Wednesday .
The workers are demanding a new minimum wage of about N 50 , 000 from the current national minimum wage of N 18 , 000.
Tripartite committee resumes October 4
However , Ngige told journalists after a meeting with labour leaders that the tripartite committee on national minimum wage would resume negotiations on October 4 .
“ We are resuming precisely on Thursday, October 4 , and the meeting can spill over to October 5 . All the processes have been put in place and labour leaders know ; they are now expected to communicate such to their organs; so we don ’ t have any need for a strike , ” he said .
Asked if the government team had concluded its consultation on the minimum wage with governors , Ngige said it would be done when the tripartite committee resumed, adding that the government was still consulting with other stakeholders .
He said , “ Part of our consultation means the economic management team would have something to work on . Already, they are working on it, the National Salaries , Incomes and Wages Commission is working on it and it is expected that before the October meeting, they would have been through with work.”
Ngige said a bill would still have to go through the National Assembly after approval by the Federal Executive Council .

But Wabba said the unions had to brief their organs before calling off the strike .
He said , “ Our demand is that the tripartite negotiating council should be brought back to complete its assignment . He has given us an update and we are taking back the discussion we had with him .”
But the NLC Secretary- General , Dr Peter Ozo- Eson , told one of our correspondents that the strike would proceed as planned ,
He asked, “ Have we said anything to the contrary ?”
NUPENG , COEASU, JUSUN workers to join strike
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria said it would join the strike as long as its labour centre – the Trade Union Congress – was involved .
The spokesman for the organisation , Mr Babatunde Oke , said , “ We are going to be part of it. As long as our labour centre is involved , we are also involved . We are going to take part in the strike if TUC so directs us .”
Also , the national leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria directed its members to join the warning strike .
The President of JUSUN, Mr Marwan Adamu, said in a statement on Wednesday that “ effective from midnight on Wednesday ” all courts in the country must remain closed pending a counter instruction from the national secretariat of the union.”
On its part, the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union said that it would embark on the warning strike in solidarity with the NLC .
The COEASU National President , Nuhu Ogirima , said , “ The academic union will join the strike because it has become evident that dialogue and diplomacy would not make the government change its stance .
He said , “ It is also expedient to take this action against the crass insensitivity of governments at both state and federal levels to the plight of the colleges of education .”
ASUU to consult with leadership
But the Academic Staff Union of Universities said it would consult with its leadership and trustees before joining the strike .
The ASUU National President , Prof . Biodun Ogunyemi , told one of our correspondents on the telephone on Wednesday that he could not decide without an approval from the ASUU executives and trustees .
Ogunyemi said , “ We are part of the NLC . We are an affiliate of the NLC . But we are waiting for the final decision and we are consulting. I am also consulting with the ASUU leadership .”
But the Owerri Zonal Coordinator of ASUU , Prof Uzo Onyebinama , during a press conference at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University , Awka , Anambra State , on Wednesday said the union might join the strike .
‘ Abia workers to comply ’
In Abia State , the Chairman of the NLC , Chief Uchenna Obigwe directed federal and state government workers in the state to comply with the directive to embark on the strike .

Obigwe , while briefing journalists in Umuahia , said the NLC viewed the silence of the Federal Government to its demand for a new minimum wage as sabotage .

FG , NLC must consider national interests – SERAP
Meanwhile , a civil society organisation , the Socio - Economic Rights and Accountability Project, has warned that the nation ’ s economy would be negatively affected by the strike , urging the NLC and the Federal Government to consider the national interests .
The SERAP Director , Adetokunbo Mumuni, said , “ In Nigeria , strikes are not an option ; a strike will stop the economy and further impoverish Nigerians . What I seek is that the government should settle the minimum wage issue so that our economy can continue to operate at a full speed.
“ The NLC should also consider the interests of the workers and of the nation and resolve this issue quickly .”

NO COALITION FORMED WITH APC, SAYS SDP LEADERSHIP.

Our attention has been drawn to a press conference organised by our candidate, Sen Iyiola Omisore where he emphatically said that the SDP leadership across the state have agreed to work with APC in tommorow's poll.

"we want to make it unambiguously clear that we are not in anyway in support of what Omisore did, hence, people should treat his submission as personal that has nothing to do with our party, SDP"

No doubt, the new move made by Otunba Iyiola Omisore must have cut some of his unrepentant followers unaware as some of them have vowed not to have anything to do with him again.

"We stick our neck to support his aspiration despite the fact the he refused to mobilize us, yet we wholeheartedly stood by him, se e the way he treated us today" one of his followers lamented.

#Alert News
"Iyiola Omisore's decision to support the APC in tomorrow's rerun is shameful. It is sad that he would seek to deny Ile-Ife the position of Deputy Governor simply for money. He told me he would stand firm two days ago and he told our leader and father Baba Ayo Adebanjo the same thing last night. I do not know what has turned his head but we shall forge ahead and by God's grace Adeleke will win. There is no excuse or justification for joining or supporting those who treated our people like filth and slaves over the last 8 years  and who rigged last saturdays election"- Chief Femi Fani-Kayode

We disown Omisore for his support for the APC. We are not in alliance with any political party. Omisore did so in his personal capacity and not that of the party

C'RIVER: SENATOR BEN AYADE PAYS FORMER POLITICAL APPOINTEES SEVERANCE ALLOWANCES.

The Cross River State Governor, Professor Benedict Ayade has once again displayed the good qualities he is known for as he paid political appointees in the state who have not been paid since 1999 their severance packages.

The norm in Nigeria politics is for the incoming administrations to abandon office holders in the previous administrations to their fate while feathering their own nest.

Severance package is the emolument paid to political office holders on their leaving office untainted at the end of their tenure.

The lot of a political appointees after office could be difficult as most of what they get in office is used to take care of their constituents. Some of them left lucrative jobs to serve their people and if there is no other engagement after leaving office, life could be a difficult one financially.

It is the fear of an uncertain life after office that makes many  political appointees to dip their hands into public treasury.

The severance package therefore comes in handy for these people who have served their people as political office holders. It is also designed to curb corruption.

This kind gesture of Senator Ayade has therefore, brought no small relief for these patriotic Cross-Riverians who have been neglected for so long.

Many of them left office since 2007 having served under Governor Donald Duke. The then governor did not pay them and the succeeding administration of Senator Liyel Imoke did not remember them either.

But Professor Ayade known for his kindness has wiped the tears from their eyes.

One leadership quality of Professor Ayade which has endeared him to many is empathy. Ayade cares for people to the point of weeping openly at times when talking about the plight of the less privileged.

One occasion was when he wept at an international event when presenting the case of the displaced people of Bakassi.

Ayade spent his birthday in 2017 with Bakassi people at their camp. It is this quality that informed his making the people’s welfare his priority.

It is therefore, not a surprise that he paid this set of former public officers.

Ayade ordered the payment sometime last year, actual payment was delayed till this year because of the verification and computing processes.

Characteristic of Ayade, he paid all notwithstanding their political leaning.

One of them is a governorship aspirant under the banner of one of the major political parties in the state.

Bassey Okim was security adviser to governor Duke, expressed his gratitude thus: “I am grateful to the governor for paying us. After all we did not work with his government”.

He prayed that, “God should bless and keep” Governor Ayade.

Akin Ricketts who running for Senate under APC is also one of the beneficiaries, said People worked for the  government, after the expiration of their tenure the incoming government deems it fair to credit them their severance benefit. Isn't that singular gesture to be applauded or is it everything in Cross River State we bring to negative politics?

Sandy Onoh summed it up, “It is a very commendable thing by the governor. This gesture deserves commendation because it soars above pettiness. Governor Ayade paid everybody including those in opposition to him and his government. By this action he deserves our commendations and support from all.”

While most of these beneficiaries shower unreserved encomiums on Governor Ayade, Roy Ndoma Egba , perhaps not wanting to show too much emotion while commending Ayade also noted that it is government responsibility to pay. In his words, “Ayade has done very well by paying the severance, but I think it is government responsibility”.

To former Chief of Staff to Governor Liyel Imoke, Alex Egona, "it is a good idea. The governor has done well".

Julius Okputu described it as an “icing on the cake” and “a total package that covers promotion of civil servants and the rest.” According to him, Ayade “deserves commendations.”

Barrister Wilfred Usani has this to say, “It is a most commendable gesture from His Excellency, Governor Ben Ayade to pay the severance allowance to former members of the Cross River State Executive Council. It is a gesture which expresses appreciation to these past publc servants for their service to the people of Cross River State. Governor Ayade must be commended indeed for executing this task.  We are grateful to him. And we pray that God Continues to guide him in his administration of the state.”

Another beneficiary, Kelly Ayamba, who noted that he “left government about eight years ago”, without being paid also described the payment as “a welcome development”.

He opined that “it has actually proved that Ayade is a considerate person.” Kelly further asserted “this is the first time it is being done”.

Expressing profound gratitude to Professor Ayade on behalf of his colleagues, he said, “This action of the governor shows that he appreciates all our services to the state, and I really appreciate it”.

Kelly concluded with hope “that there will be an opportunity to show him how grateful I and my colleagues are.”

The limit to Professor Ayade’s humane character and benevolence is yet to be known as he has continued to go beyond the limit of the average human kindness in his quest to help the less privileged and give everyone their due no matter how they view him.

#Osundecide2018... Fani- Kayode react to Omisore's decision... See what he said.

ABUJA – Former Minister of Aviation and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has expressed disappointment over the ironic twist in the Osun re-schedule governorship election which holds today.
[The ex-Minister is fuming that two days after the Social Democratic Party, SDP candidate in the election, Senator Iyiola Omisore pledged to be his own man; he has allegedly decided to work together with the All Progressives Congress, APC, to ensure victory for its candidate, Gboyega Oyetola.

In the elections which held last Saturday, PDP candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke garnered a total of 254, 698 votes while Oyetola polled 254, 345, leaving the Independent National Electoral Commission to order a re-run in five polling units today.
Fani-Kayode who is not happy with the turn of events for his party wrote on Wednesday, “Omisore’s decision to support the APC in tomorrow’s (today) re-run is shameful. It is sad that he would seek to deny Ile-Ife the position of Deputy Governor simply for money.

He told me he would stand firm two days ago and he told our leader and father Baba Ayo Adebanjo the same thing last night. I do not know what has turned his head but we shall forge ahead and by God’s grace, Adeleke will win. There is no excuse or justification for joining or supporting those who treated our people like filth and slaves over the last 8 years and who rigged last Saturday’s election.”
Allegations that huge sums of money exchanged hands are rife after the visit of some APC chieftains to the Ile-Ife home of Omisore on Tuesday.

#Osundecide2018... Omisore pledges to support APC in Osun Rerun... See details.

The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Senator Iyiola Omisore, has agreed to form an alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Osun rerun election.
Omisore told journalists in Ile Ife on Wednesday that he decided to support the APC after the party accepted the conditions he gave earlier for his support.
The SDP candidate had said he would only support any party (between PDP and APC) that agrees to uphold SDP’s core values.
He said he informed both the APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of his conditions.
The conditions include a pledge to ensure motivation of workers in the state, payment of salary arrears in the first three months in office, equity in infrastructure provision across the state, the adoption of a local content policy for all projects in the state.
He also wants traditional rulers to be made more relevant.
According to the SDP candidate, only the APC has accepted his conditions and that is why the SDP is going to form an alliance with the APC.
Omisore announcing his decision to support the APC for the Osun rerun election
Omisore’s decision comes after the National Chairman of the APC, Adams
Oshiomhole, led a delegation from the party, to visit him and canvass his support for APC governorship candidate, Gboyega Oyetola.
Both the APC and the PDP have made moves to secure the support of Omisore since Sunday when the Independent National Electoral Commission declared Saturday’s governorship election in the state inconclusive.
INEC had declared the election inconclusive after announcing that the margin between the two top candidates was less than the total number of votes in polling units where voting was cancelled.
PDP candidate Ademola Adeleke led the race with 353 votes after polling 254,698 votes, as against the 254,345 votes his closest rival, Gboyega Oyetola of the APC got.
There are 3,498 voters spread across seven polling units where the rerun election will be held.
Omisore who secured the third highest number of votes in the governorship election is considered pivotal to the outcome of the rerun election, hence the clamour for his support.

A must read...You have the power to change Nigeria, just get it Right By Afikpo Chic

MARCHING FORWARD: You've always had the power my dear..

If you see a good candidate in PDP, APC, ANN, APGA, YPP, ETC, please, vote for that person. That is the only way we can get out of this kleptomaniac quagmire Nigerian politicians has landed us in. Do not let loyalty to your party become stupidity. A loyalty that will continue to destroy your future and the future of our generations unborn.

Man shall now live by party alone. Man shall live by individual's capacity. Man shall be fluid. Man shall use his tongue and count his teeth then act appropriately. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

SEE YOUR LIFE? Look at our lives: We are living in darkness. No nation can live well without 24 hour light. This is why we will continue to retrogress and suffer needlessly in this nation. Meanwhile this is a country one man with one head in the name of being a governor will LOOT BILLIONS every hour and pack for himself; while (in some cases) those elected with him, those around him, and everyone in his state, are living in penury. This a nation where powerful politicians and their cronies loot trillions for themselves. Heartless and callous sets of people. The money looted by a single person; in Nigeria; can give us 24hr light; so that we can know where they rain started beating us from. Without steady light, we can't even figure out what is eating us. Give us this freaking light or get out so others who can will take over and get the job done.

Don't break your head over these powerful Nigerian politicians. They have looted enough to last generations. They don't give a damn about parties. If you tell any one of them he will get what you wants in APC, he will leave PDP and join APC. If you tell anyone of them he will get what he wants in PDP, he will leave APC and and join PDP. If they can't get what they want in either APC or PDP, they will be looking for somewhere else to enter. They are not loyal to their parties, they are loyal to their interest, so why should you, who is barely eating full meals a day, be loyal to any party to the point of stupidity? USE YOUR HEAD.

DO NOT VOTE PARTY!I REPEAT, DO NOT VOTE PARTY. My party is ANN (Alliance For New Nigeria). Do not vote for a bad candidate running under ANN. If you see a better candidate running for the same post in PDP or APC, please, vote for that person. Ridiculous and shameful loyalty to political parties is what got us where we are now. LET'S MOVE OUT OF EGYPT AND NOT LOOK BACK.

RIGGING? Who you wan rig? This is not YORE. You try rubbish and you will see your ears with your eyes. The people have the power. And they are waiting for riggers.

The people of AFIKPO who started a silent revolution by electing me under PPA, in 2015; is saying to every Nigerian town: DO AS I DO. DO AS I DID. DO AS I'M GOING TO DO OVER AND OVER AGAIN. So that you will see and feel real representation. When patterns are broken, new worlds emerge. Vote individual, and not party. Break the chain. Truncate the hegemony. BREAK THE FREAKING PATTERN.

UDE EHUGBO SINGING:
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air;
If you listen carefully now you will hear.
This could be the first trumpet, might as well be the last:

Things are not the way they used to be,
I won't tell no lie;
One and all have to face reality now.
'Though I've tried to find the answer to all the questions they ask.
'Though I know it's impossible to go livin' through the past -
Don't tell no lie.

There's a natural mystic blowing through the air -
Can't keep them down -
If you listen carefully now you will hear.

There's a natural mystic blowing through the air.
There's a natural mystic blowing through the air;
Such a natural mystic blowing through the air;
Such a natural mystic blowing through the air;

2019 election will be revolutionary. This could be the rebirth of this nation. About time. The power lies in your hand. There is not enough policemen and army that can stop an idea whose time has come. Nigerians, take your destiny into your hand and elect the right people, so this nation can where it should be, which is at the top. Put the right people in offices and this country can be transformed under 4 years. Look at Singapore, look at Dubai, Malaysia, and so many countries we were better than years ago.

My fellow countrymen: You can have anything you want if you're willing to give up the belief that you can't have it. You've always had the power my dear, you just had to learn it for yourself.

Yours truly, AFIKPO CHIC.
BEST CHIC EVER LIVETH.

Ayade has best ideas in governance -Tambuwal

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant in the forthcoming general elections, Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has described Governor Ben Ayade of Cross Rover State as a great achiever with the best ideas in governance.
The presidential hopeful and Governor of Sokoto State who was in Calabar, the state capital as part of his nationwide consultation with party faithful, weekend stated that Governor Ayade has perform credibly well despite the fact that the nation is facing the most trying times in terms of economic development.
In his words: "We know that we are governing at very difficult times in the history of our country as governors of our respective states, but I must commend you for all your efforts to improve on the wellbeing of the citizenry, coupled with the various developmental strides you have recorded.
Tambuwal noted: "You have been thinking outside the box, coming up with so many ideas that are not so common in governance in this part of the world.
"So, I am so proud of you and proud of your achievements so far and now appealing to the people of Cross River to continue to support my brother because I know that he has some of the best ideas as far as governance is concerned in Nigeria."
Rolling out some of his agenda for the country if he eventually becomes president, the former speaker disclosed: "If by the grace of God I emerge as the standard bearer of our great party, PDP and subsequently elected as president, we shall tackle head on,  issues bedeviling the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) with the view to sanitising it for a more result- oriented revenue earner for Nigeria."
He further asserted that "the challenge has been that of revenue. Nowadays, revenue accruing to states are not being remitted to them as and when due and most times states and even the federal government are being short-changed by the NNPC.
"Today, NNPC has constituted itself into another government of it own inside the federated Nigeria. I'm saying this not because I am now in opposition party, the governor and I know that at the level of economic council meeting presided over the Vice President, we have had a lot of issues with NNPC which is why I will focus there to ensure that we have a more transparent, accountable and a body that will be alive to its legitimate responsibilities."
He added that, "Another critical area my administration will focus will be to ensure the review of revenue allocation formula that is long over du to ensure that more moneys are given to the states and local government areas to guarantee sustainable development at this levels."
The former law maker reminded the gathering that, It is a standard constitutional requirement that the revenue allocation formula be reviewed but lamented that successive administration since the turn of democracy have refused to ensure the implementation of that constitutional charge.
He reasoned that, I believe that by reviewing the revenue formula periodically, we will not only devolved power to the states and local government but will ensure better development and empowerment of the citizenry since they are closer to the grassroot.
He thanked the Governor Ben Ayade for cutting short his oversea trip to receive him describing the gesture as show of love and comaderadier saying, "this is the signature of Cross River, very hospitable, scerene and always a destination of choice for business and leisure" and expressed a sense of belonging.
Responding, Governor Ben Ayade who described the aspirant as unassuming, humble and intellectual leader said that the state will be happy to have someone in his person becoming a president because he has their interest at heart.
Ayeda saluted his policy direction especially as regarding the reforms he proposed for NNPC, adding that if the issue is holistically tackled, 65 percent of the country's economic crisis will be solved.
"As a matter of fact, Nigeria does not have a true idea of the quantum of oil it's produce daily. What we hear daily is all speculations, he hinted.
The governor maintained that "even a simple online system that other oil producing countries have deployed to have an online satellite and digital emission of data, we don't have. So, we rely on the same white men who are digging the oil and telling you how much he is processing and we use these data to represent our production capacity year in and year out," describing the development as worrisome and unacceptable.
On the state's request Ayade said: "Our appeal to the aspirant is that if eventually you become the president of Nigeria, we shall look forward to getting discretional approval from you that will allow us exploit our hydrocarbon inventory in the state.
We will also love you to provide us with sovereign guarantee or find a way to institutionalise a process where the federal government will support Cross River to development her deep seaport which is our visionary project to support the only maritime corridor economically and security wise, " he added.
According to Ayade, the request is to cushion the effect and hardship currently experienced by the state occasioned by the the ceding of Bakassi to the Cameroon by the federal government and subsequent lose of 76 oil wells which now makes the state a weeping child among oil producing states in the Niger Delta.

Luka Modric beats Cristiano Ronaldo and Mo Salah to be named men's player of the year... See other winners.

Real Madrid and Croatia midfielder Luka Modric speaks after winning the trophy for the Best FIFA Men's Player of 2018 Award

Luka Modric was named Best Fifa Men's Footballer of the Year at a ceremony in London, beating Mohamed Salah and an absent Cristiano Ronaldo to the top prize.
Ronaldo had won the award for the last two years, but Modric's exceptional 2017/18 season was deemed to have surpassed the Portuguese's dominance.
The 33-year-old Croatian won his third Champions League trophy with Real Madrid in May and led his national side to their first World Cup final in Russia, where he was awarded the Golden Ball for his outstanding individual performance.
Afterwards Modric dedicated the award to his Croatian and Madrid teammates.

"It's a great honour and beautiful feeling to stand here with this trophy," he said.
Modric poses with his Best FIFA Men's Player Award alongside Marta with her Best FIFA Women's Player Award

"This trophy is not just mine. It is for my Real Madrid team-mates, the Croatia national team and all my coaches. This is also for my family, without who I would not be the player I am."

Voted for by national team coaches and captains, select members of the media and an online vote, the win shows a shift from Lionel Messi and Ronaldo sharing the spoils for the past decade of Fifa individual awards.
Messi's omission from the category altogether garnered particular attention ahead of this, the third edition of The Best awards, which were created after Fifa's six-year partnership with the Ballon d'Or ended in 2015.

Barcelona's talisman was however included in Fifa's team of the year, the Fifpro World XI, as were David de Gea, Dani Alves, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Modric, N'Golo Kante, Eden Hazard, Kylian Mbappe, and Ronaldo.
Fifa Fifpro World11 (minus Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi) pose with their trophies.

Meanwhile, Salah was handed a consolation prize for his record-breaking season with Liverpool, taking home the Fifa Puskas award for his goal in the Merseyside derby.
Other winners included Thibaut Courtois for Best Goalkeeper, Brazilian and Orlando Pride player Marta was named Best Women's Player.

Best Men's Coach went to French national team coach Didier Deschamps, and Reynald Pedros won the Best Women's Coach award for his work leading Lyon to their fifth Champions League title. The Fifa Fan Award went to Peru's supporters after the country appeared at a World Cup for the first time in 36 years with Germany's Lennart Thy winning the Fifa Fair Play Award.
