...To enforce total lockdown on any defaulting fuel marketer operating in the local government.
Following the expiration of a seven-day ultimatum yesterday, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Yala Chapter has give a one day final grace to all filling stations operating in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State to adjust their fuel pump price to N125 or face being picketed.
The Federal Government has in the wake of the Corono Virus known as COVID-19 pandemic outbreak reduced fuel pump price from N145 to N125.
However filling stations operating in Yala are yet to comply by adjusting their pump price to the newly regulated price, which prompted the NYCN Yala Chapter in a released signed by its Coordinator, Comrade Abraham Okayi to issue a seven days ultimatum.
Okayi said the additional one day grace expires today at 11.59pm and that its members will enforced a total lockdown of any defaulting fuel marketer operating in the local government.
He also said the NYCN Chapter will be sending a formal petition letter to the zonal director of the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) in PortHarcourt to formerly sanction the defaulting marketers.
