You Shall not labour in vain – Eba tell Cross river workers.

By Egbara Emmanuel

The Director General for Due process and Price intelligence Bureau, Hon.Barrister Alphonsus Ogar Eba on Monday told workers in the state that their sacrifice and commitment to stability of the state even in the face of economic challenges would not be in vain.

Eba stated this in Calabar in a statement where he also saluted the umbrella body of the workers for their support .

In the statement admonishing workers which was signed by the DG and made available by his Special Assistant on media and Publicity, Egbara Emmanuel, the DG said the government is well-acquainted with the sacrifices they have made under the grueling economic condition the country is going through.

The most important agent of development is humans. Cities are built by the aggregate of human efforts committed to it within a period of time.

Even the most sophisticated machines are useless without humans to operate them.We are still waiting for the first machine capable of its own intelligence, beyond what its makers programmed it to do and it appears we have a long waiting to do.

We are particularly grateful for the fiercely loyal, dedicated, hardworking, industrious and God-fearing workers we have in Cross river State.
We owe the success recorded by our administration to them.

The DG commended the workers for the resilience and understanding they have displayed with the government in this crucial times, saying Ayade's administration is “sentistive enough to recognise their contributions especially in the face of the economic crisis.

“We could not have done less for we hold tenaciously to the belief that it is only through the commitment and cooperation of our workers that we can realise the very noble objectives for which we are here as government.

“More than three years, we have no reason to doubt that our workers have been dependable partners in our development journey so far.”
He stated that with the glory of God and the unflinching support of the workers in the state,Ayade's administration has been able to pilot the affairs of the state effectively.

Eba therefore, sought for the continued understanding and support of workers and the people in government’s determination to take the state to enviable height.

As workers, we play an indispensable role in nation and state building, and without workers, an economically viable and socially stable society would not be achievable.”
The DG further stated that the essence of the workers’ day was to underscore the role and significance of workers in nation building, a festive tradition that workers all over the world now celebrate annually.

“On this Labour Day in Cross State, I identify fully with all workers. I assure you once more that the administration of Gov.Benedict Ayade is committed to enhancing the welfare of workers and the great people of the state.

To achieve this objective, we have built a platform for socio-economic and ‘agripreneur’ revolution in the state, which will empower workers and the citizens as well as provide revenue for the state to implement people-oriented policies and programmes,” Eba stated in the statement.
