The All Progressive Congress APC candidate Dr. Alex Egbonna Emerged winner of Abi/Yakurr Federal constituency election rerun conducted in Ekureku 1 and 2 of the constituency.
Dr Egbonna pulled the total vote of Twenty Nine thousand, seven hundred and sixteen (29,716) as against his rival the PDP candidate Hon John Gaul Lebo who scored a total of Twenty six thousand, thirty nine (26,039) votes.
Dr. Egbonna was declared winner and returned to the green chamber to represent Abi/Yakurr federal constituency by the Cross River State Resident electoral commissioner, Dr. Alalibo Sinikiem Johnson, after securing the highest votes in the election.
