On 5 September 2019 at 22:31, the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu posted on his Facebook page:
I have graciously accepted the invitation of a few members of the European Parliament to address the burning issue of IPOB agitation and what a NEW BIAFRA means for Africa. I look forward to leading hardcore IPOB family members in Europe to this historic encounter.

Time: 4-6pm EST

Kanu’s lieutenant and IPOB deputy leader, Alphonsus Uche Okafor-Mefor, afterwards on 10 September at 05:48 ·posted on his Facebook page:

I will advise some ”overzealous” individuals and groups to REFRAIN from misquoting and misinterpreting what they don’t understand about IPOB and Mazi Nnnamdi Kanu.Some have gone to the extent of publishing that Mazi Nnamdi kanu would address the UN General Assembly in September, 2019 and that today(10 September 2019), he would address the European Parliament.To put records straight, please, be advised that all these are incorrect and misleading publications.You must stop bringing what does not exist into ”existence”. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu later today would be addressing ”a few Members of the European Parliament” not the EU PARLIAMENT.There would also not going to be a UN General Assembly address by him. Fight fake news wherever you see it!

Rather than being an address to the EU Parliament, ”a few Members of the European Parliament” eventually became just that, a meeting with one or two persons and a rally of IPOB members outside the building:

…therefore Kanu only had a meeting with some persons at the EU parliament:
And thereafter Kanu outside the building with his followers shouting I.P.O.B. singing and hailing him Onye Ndu !

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu did not address the EU Parliament.

One may have attended meetings at the UK House of Commons…that does not mean that the person addressed the British Parliament.
