Submission of Entries Open For Linda Ayade Literary Art, Afi Ekong Visual Art, Benedict Ayade Film And Nico Mbarga Music Competitions.

Submission of Entries opened for the Linda Ayade Literary Art, Afi Ekong Visual Art, Benedict Ayade Film And Nico Mbarga Music Competitions on Saturday 5th October, 2019.

Senior Special Assistant, Creative And Knowledge Economy to the Governor of Cross River State, Hon. Emmanuel Etim made this known to media on Saturday in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

He said the submission of entries will last till 31st October, 2019 when it is expected to close. Registration and Submission of Entries are done through the website of of the competition www.crscreativeeconomy.com .

The competitions were conceived to promote competence, capacity and creativity in the Cross River State Creative Economy according to him. They also aim to stimulate the growth of the Creative Industry in the state, he added.

Participants in the competition are directed to also like the facebook page of the selected competition by searching for the name of the competition on facebook and clicking on the "Like Page" button.

The SSA clarified that the social media voting is expected to be done on the facebook pages of the competitions in November, 2019. Scores from the online voting will form fifty percent of the total winning scores while the judges scores will make up the other fifty percent.

According to the organizers, the the long list, the short list and winners list will be released in December, 2019. Winners will then be notified.

Each of the Competitions has two categories making a total of eight categories and prize money of One thousand Pounds is expected to be won in each of the eight categories.

Emmanuel Etim added that The theme for the Linda Ayade Literary Art and the Afi Ekong Visual Art Competitions is Cross River State: Spirit of Enterprise and the theme for Benedict Ayade Film and Nico Mbarga Music Competitions is Humanity.

He concluded that All entries must be original. Entries for the video film competition must not be more than 10 minutes while entries for the music Competition must not be more than 5 minutes.

Entries for the literary competition must not be less than 500 words and entries for the visual art competition must be in jpeg format.
