LET THE GAME BEGIN FOR UNITY OF YALA
Charles Offoboche Foundation (COF) commences team registration across the entire 14 wards in Yala ahead of the scheduled football tournament.
COF is a non governmental organization that has offered to unite Yala nation via football and other selected programmes.
The founder and President of the foundation, Prince Charles Offoboche was born into the royal family of Chief Offoboche.
Prince Charles is a vibrant and ambitious young man, who has set the pace for other young and enterprising youths to emulate.
Recently the Foundation, on 30th of August 2019, organised a Peace Walk amongst the warring communities in Okpoma, with the sole aim of uniting and restoring the peaceful coexistence which has been from time immemorial and also seek mutual respect among the warring communities.
Prince Charles Offoboche was also an awardee in the just concluded Yala Achievers Award 2019 where he was honoured with the Humanitarian service of the year award.
The COF-CUP which promises to be a yearly event, will officially kick start November/December. The competition will see all the 14 wards in Yala across the two constituencies participate in the prestigious football competition.
The COF-CUP is aimed at harnessing raw talents from the grassroots and fostering peace and unity amongst communities as football is seen as one of the strongest unifying factors in the society.
Team/Ward registration is free and all participating teams will be provided with jerseys for the competition.
More so, there shall be awardd for: 1st prize, 2nd Prize, 3rd prize, not forgetting the best player of the tournament, best goal keeper, highest goal scorer, award for most well behaved team and best coach of the tournament.
Wards coordinators/Coaches are therefore encouraged to register their ward/team in Okpoma-Yala through the office of the Chairman, COF-CUP organizing committee.
