Use Cross River little resources judiciously — Blogger begs Ayade

The Cross River State fastest growing entrepreneur and a blogger, Jake Clifford has appealed to the governor of Cross River State, Senator Ben Ayade to use the only state's own resources judiciously so as to complete all his signature projects in his second term.

Continuing, the blogger further lament that it's pitiable to note that Cross River state under the President Mohammadu's Buhari administration has not been favourable to the state, given that most of the meaningful signature projects under Ben Ayade's administration had suffered lack of federal government attention.

"It is sad to note that, the Buhari's government has failed to support most of the governor Ayade's policies and programs, mostly projects that would have added value and generated more revenue to the state.

The blogger who lays emphasized on some of the governor's elephant projects in Calabar, said it is not enough to advertise uncompleted projects as already working industries to the general public and occupied people's land without using it for what it was meant for.
The superhighway, designed to cut across at least 16 local government areas, is one of the signature projects of the administration of the governor, Ben Ayade. It is meant to link the South-south state with Nigeria’s North-central region, through Benue State.
Besides the initial clearing of some sections of the huge Cross River rainforest to pave way for it, the road project was delayed for more than three years after ground-breaking was done by President Muhammadu Buhari in October 2015, during the governor's first term.
In what appears a sign of its eventual take off, the Cross River government on February 17 this year wrote to the state House of Assembly, seeking approval for an irrevocable standing payment order (ISPO) of N300 million monthly in favour of Sydney Construction Nigeria Ltd for the construction of the six-lane road project.
The contract for the superhighway is N648.8billion, according to the letter to the lawmakers, signed by the former Secretary to the Cross River State government, Tina Agbor, yet nothing has been done as it concerns the Governor Ayade's Dual Carriageway.

“The tragedy of it all is that while Gov. Ben Ayade is busy masturbating his ego, traveling from one country to another searching for 'half bake' and 'kindergarten' investors all in the name of trying to revamp the country's number one tourism state to its Eldorado, the governor also need to have a rethink, that if he had a motive of siphoning the state only limited resources through his caricature projects spread across the state, the law will come after him, maybe after the expiration of his eight years as Cross River State Governor.

“The Blogger wishes to draw the attention of Gov. Ben Ayade to the fact that Cross River State is not rich and there is no reason why the governor should give false impression to his party members and other Nigerians to the contrary and think of looting state fund to his private pocket as Nigeria politicians usually do".

"I pray that God gives you the strength in all your efforts and ideology to transform Cross River State to the country's number one industrial hub".
