The four contenders to take on Eden Hazard's No.10 shirt at Chelsea next season

Chelsea face a huge challenge in the battle for top honours next season with Eden Hazard now a Real Madrid player.
The Belgian international played a major role in the team's Europa League success and third-place finish last campaign, but, as expected, he finally sealed a move to the Santiago Bernabeu following much talk over his future.
Chelsea's transfer ban means that Frank Lampard will not be able to bring in a player to replace the 28-year-old unless their appeal to the Court of Arbitration is successful, but the Blues do now have Christian Pulisic at their disposal following his big-money move from Borussia Dortmund back in January.

Chelsea have yet to announce their squad numbers for next season and fans are desperate to find out who will replace Hazard as the club's No.10.
Here we take a look at the possible contenders to take on the famous number.

Callum Hudson-Odoi
With his future at Stamford Bridge looking in doubt at the start of the year as Bayern Munich made their move to sign the talented player, it appears that the 18-year-old could be in line to sign a new long-term contract in west London.
Lampard sees the England international as "central" to his plans at Chelsea and that will go down extremely well with the club's supporters.

"I have seen Callum come through and he is a fantastic talent," said the head coach . "We all know that and I will speak to him and I want him to stay.
"I know the club want him to stay and for me, he is going to be central for us on the pitch and that is the opportunity that is really in front of him now, certainly from where I am sitting.
"So that is something I will speak to him about and I hope he stays."
Back in May it was reported that as part of the club trying to convince Hudson-Odoi to stay that the player would be offered Hazard's No.10 shirt.

Certainly one of the favourites to take on the number, it wouldn't be a surprise to see him to wear Hazard's jersey either next season or at some point in the foreseeable future.

Christian Pulisic

Another contender to take on the famous number is Pulisic.
Many fans are hopeful that the player can help fill the void left by Hazard and, if his displays for the United States in the Gold Cup are anything to go by, he will be a big hit at Stamford Bridge over the coming years.
Pulisic has quite a few numbers to choose from at Chelsea and the No.10 will no doubt be the obvious choice given he wears it for his national team.

The youngster wore the No.22 shirt during his time at Borussia Dortmund.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek
The England international will be a Chelsea player for the long-term future after penning a new five-year contract in the capital.
Starting off last season out of the team under Maurizio Sarri, Loftus-Cheek became a key player towards the end of the campaign and scored a number of important goals.
Initially the club's No.14 before Tiemoue Bakayoko took on the number as the 23-year-old headed on loan to Crystal Palace in 2017, he took on the No.12 shirt this time last year.

Hazard's old shirt could be a potential option for the player ahead of this season having worn the No.10 shirt for England on his full debut against Germany back in November 2017.

Willian

Willian has been the club's No.22 ever since his arrival from Anzhi Makhachkala at Stamford Bridge back in 2013.
While it would be a shock to see him change squad number after six years, he may fancy taking on Hazard's shirt having worn the number previously during his time in Russia and Ukraine.

The 30-year-old was Shakhtar Donetsk's No.10 before later taking on the same number at Anzhi, while he is also currently wearing the number out in Brazil at the Copa America following Neymar's absence from the squad through injury.
And one for the future...

Mason Mount

Now it would be a huge call to give Mount the No.10 shirt ahead of the new season.

The youngster excelled for under Lampard at Derby County last campaign and he has an incredibly bright future in the game.
Mount has a number of players in front of him at present but you certainly wouldn't put it past him having an impact for the team next season given the qualities he possesses.
While it may be a bit early for him to wear the number in the 2019/20 season, he could well be Chelsea's No.10 at some point in the not too distant future.
