Staff Of Wilmar International Limited Mbarakom, Calaro Oil Palm Estate Akamkpa In CRS, Protests Non Increment Of Salary Arrears...






STAFF OF WILMAR INTERNATIONAL LIMITED MBARAKOM,(CALARO OIL PALM ESTATE) AKAMKPA.PROTEST NON INCREAMET SALARY AND NON RECOGNITION LABOUR REPRESENTATIVES.

At about 5am early hours of Wednesday morning,19 June 2019.Thousand of Willmar international limited staff took to the streets in protest of non increamt of salaries and non recognition of duly elected labour's Representatives.Labuour under international Association of Plantation farm labour's( IAPFL) in the company.

The workers displayed various pleet cards showing different description like NO WORK NO WORK,NO IAPFL,NO WORK,NO UNION,NO WORK, MORE PRETEST.
The staff accused the management of the company for associating herself with DEFUNCT and dead Agricultural allied employee union of Nigeria (AAEUN) to defraud her staff for over five years.
One of the members of the executive who referred his name shouldn't be mentioned confirm that before the massive protest, the IAPFL had requested to meet with the management dated back 28th January 2019 but to no avail.he added that "far back 12 November 2012,His Excellency senator Liyel Imoke former Governor of cross river state affirmed that the company will pay each worker#1500 daliy but the revised had been the case".

He stated further that upon commencement of operations the company started paying her workers #800,900 And later #1100.in of agreed #1500.

However the workers present their demands as follows...
(1) IAPFL elected executive to resume operation immediately and effectively (officially) as authorized by law.
(2) Staff ID cards Issuance as authorized by law.
(3) Appointment letters stating terms of employment to each workers above 7 months (unless on probation).
(4) immediate implementation of( NJIC) national industrial condition of service existing in other sectors/other plantation companies.
(5) Refund of all monies deducted as union dues to non - existing (DEFUNCT) trade union name from worker salaries without their consent.
(6) Issuance of pay slip to workers on and before payment and pay spelt out (workers allowances).
(7) Tax receipt Issuance to workers yearly (return pending tax receipt).
(8) payment of allwances fully and effective eg ; acting allowances, housing allowance, transport allowance, leave allowance, hazard allowance, medical allowance etc.
(9) Immediate implementation of 21 working days leave for Junior workers (staff) And 24 working days leave for non-management  staff, supervisors and seniors supervisors.
(10) Implementation of three (3) months maternity leave for women effectively without delay.
(11) provision of union office mobility effectively.
(12) protest day must be duly and correctly captured into payroll and paid....

Protest has reportedly entered the third day..as police and staff clash, exchanges Guy shots, leaving police van vandalised.
