The People's Democratic Party, PDP, has released it time table for the November Governorship election in Kogi and Bayelsa States in Nigeria.
THE EAGLES VOICE BLOG has earlier reported that, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, has earlier announced her availability to conduct elections in Kogi and Bayelsa by November, 2019, as the four years tenure of the incumbents elapses.
Kogi State is been currently led by Alhaji Yahaya Bello of the APC who may likely contest for his second term. While Bayelsa is led by H.E Seriake Henry Dickson of the PDP who will be stepping out for his successor once his tenure elapses.
Dickson assumed his role as Governor of Bayelsa State on 14 February 2012. The
Independent National Electoral Commission reported that Seriake Henry Dickson won over 90% of the votes. They went on to say that this helped in "further strengthening the PDP's stranglehold on power there since Jonathan became president."
Shortly after taking over gubernatorial duties, Dickson said that he was "painfully transiting to the executive arm of government." He indicated that he may return to the National Assembly someday. He contested and worn again in 2016 making it his second term as governor of Bayelsa State.
