Buhari and Leah |
The presidential candidate of Mass Joint Action Alliance (MAJA), in 2019 election, and founder of Prof. Mercy Ade-Davies Int'l Foundation (PMADIF), Prof. Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies – PMA, has again said, "NO LEAH SHARIBU NO BUHARI, on Leah's birthday 14th. May 2019 as Leah shares the same birthday with her first biological daughter. She said Leah should be unfailingly released from captivity; Leah Sharibu’s Birthday is today Tuesday May 14th, 2019, and she, Leah would have spent 449 days in captivity as we celebrate her second birthday.
At the event which took place at Abuja - National Christian Centre, CAN Hqts, Abuja and the Unity Fountain Park, at 9am - 2pm noon and in other six geopolitical zones of the country, including Jos - ECWA Hqts Church; there were over seven Partnering Groups including, Leah Sharibu Foundation, CWEENS (Women), Catalyst for Peace and Justice (CPJ), The Para-Mallam Peace Foundation (PMPF), Panam Music World (PMW), John Praise Foundation for Human Development (JPFHD) and Prof. Mercy Ade-Davies International Foundation (PMADIF) among others and hundreds of persons gathered.
The Bishop Professor Funmilayo exclaims, "At times I wonder if they know how traumatizing and devastating it is for Leah, her immediate family and the entire Christian community, as well as, meaning people of Nigeria, Africa and the world at large for Leah Sharibu, the Christian girl, who has spent months in the Boko Haram captivity to still remain captive. Leah should be treated as the daughter of any of us."
"The 14-year-old Leah Sharibu was kidnapped on February 19, 2018, by Boko Haram terrorists, from her school, Government Girls Science and Technical Secondary School in Dapchi, Bursari local government area of Yobe state. She was abducted alongside 109 other girls. While most of the girls were released, Sharibu was denied freedom after refusing to renounce her Christian faith for Islam. She has been in the custody of the terror group despite repeated pledges by President Buhari and the federal government to ensure her freedom."
The questions are, right as we speak, WHERE IS LEAH? HOW IS LEAH? WHAT HAS BECOME OF LEAH? As El-Rehoboth Global Leadership Foundation (ERGLF) asks in an ode this morning - "In honour of Leah", "What might have happened to Leah’s well talked about Christian faith and her fate going forward? Is she allowed to own a Holy Bible or let alone read one? Or have they bought her a Quran hoping someday she will have a change of heart and follow their perdition?"
Further, "Does Leah sleep well each night, especially last night? When she woke up this morning, did she fetch water for one of the kingpins or make breakfast for her hellish slave masters? Would she have had breakfast herself, assuming she had dinner last night? Is she offered food or she begs and pays with her body to feed? Is she subjected to punishment for refusing to play along? Has she remained her stubborn self in that forbidden forest?"
Further questioning, "Does she get sanitary pads as and when needed or the mere mention of such a need infuriates her soulless commander? How does she cope as a physically attractive, well-formed young lady, living with men given to marrying pre-schoolers? Will they dissolve her resolve to stay holy! Has she been raped or drugged to sleep with them? Has she been reduced to a mere sex slave and her mind numbed? How is she holding out in that dungeon .... ?"
Earlier, "at an event at the prestigious Georgetown University in Washington US, in the same vein, Nobel Literature Laureate Wole Soyinka paid a poignant tribute to heroine Christian Schoolgirl Leah Sharibu in an ode to Leah and Chibok last week. Likening Leah to iconic human rights champion the late Nelson Mandela of South Africa, Soyinka said we must “celebrate the exception who said “no” “ as it reminded him of Mandela who refused conditional release."
"Reciting the ode titled “Mandela comes to Leah”, Soyinka said, “ “No”, she said, “Faith is not of compulsion”... her torch undimmed in the den of zealots.” Prof Soyinka said he could only recite excerpts from the ode because he broke down the last time he had tried to read it." Prof. Adesanya-Davies therefore urges the international community and President Donald Trump to assist the Nigerian government and Nigerian Christian community in search for Leah Sharibu as it is a sign of very bad omen hovering over the entire Nigerian nation.
Similarly, this week, on May 11, 2019, Sarkin Yakin Abubakar Atiku has called for the release of Leah Sharibu from Boko Haram captivity. In a tweet Atiku said, “I welcome the release of 894 child soldiers. It is my hope that this will lead to the release of all others in captivity including Leah Sharibu."
While appealing to President Buhari and the APC led government over and over and over again, to direct the security agencies to triple their efforts and get Leah Sharibu released and reunited with her parents, Bishop Princess Prof. Adesanya-Davies asserts, "No Leah Sharibu no Nigeria!", No Leah Sharibu, no Buhari!"
As documented" by Buti KPUTU" in another ode, we dedicate these lines to Leah as we say Happy birthday: "Heroes and heroines of faith, like our iconic Leah Sharibu, are *God's hall of famers*. They chose to honour The Lord where others would rather desecrate Him for ephemerals and cheap gain."
*They died to death*, where we live with a palpable and crippling fear of death. They are HEROES and HEROINES, *we are COWARDS and HYPOCRITES*."
God bless Leah, her family, every well meaning Nigerian and the international community on Leah Sharibu's birthday as we refuse to relent in our efforts toward her release.
