The Government of Quebec, canada,  signs MOU with Cross River State
for funding of projects. While receiving the Cross River delegation led by the Hon. Commissioner for Climate Change,  Dr. Alice Ekwu, the Director of the Quebec Ministry of International Relations, Mr. Vincent Royer who is the Head of the Ministry made this commitment on behalf of the Quebec Government.
 In a similar development, Laval University, Quebec while receiving the Hon. Commissioner also committed to signing MOU with Cross River State for Capacity building, with the view to training youth of Cross River in Sustainable Forest Management and Wood Technology, Afforeststion, Forest monitoring, Clean Energy and low Carbon development, towards Climate Change mitigation and adaptation. The delegation led by Dr. Ekwu also visited the Ministry Environment and Ministry of Forestry, Wildlife and Parks where indepth technical presentations were made as well as the National Assembly for proper policy situation of the commitment.
The Desk Officer of the Ministry of international Relations in charge of the African Region, Mr. Jocelyn Tremblay expressed great delight over the visit of the Cross River State delegation, as this has fostered relationship with the State of Quebec and presented a long desired opportunity to begin engagement with an Anglophone Country in Africa, seeing that their activities and investments hitherto have only been in Francophone countries.
