Calabar South Security Council Collaborates With DOPT To Curb Traffic deadlock in the State.

The Chairman of Calabar South Security Council, Chief Asuquo Asuquo has pledged his readiness to collaborate with the Cross River State Department of Public Transportation (DOPT) in ensuring that the unusual traffic log along major routes and commercial areas in the metropolis becomes history.

Chief Asuquo made this known to newsmen when he invited the DOPT Director General, Mr. Godwin Nyiam to some major routes in the area for a demonstration on how the Director General has for a short time enforced and maintained traffic decongestion in the State Capital.

Conducting the Chairman round Watt Roundabout, Nelson Mandela,  Bedwell, Goldie, Etim Edem Park and Mary Slessor roads, the Director General of the Department of Public Transportation, Mr. Godwin Nyiam asserted that his department’s ability to clean up the major routes in the State Capital is a matter of strong well and the determination to serve. He maintained that his zeal to serve humanity motivated him to ensure that Residents of the area enjoy free flow of traffic.

On how he has successfully kept a cordial relationship with both petty traders as well as motorizes in the capital, the DG maintained that his duty has always been guided by the stipulated laws and warned against extortion of any form of tolls from Hawkers and Drivers except violators of the law.

The Calabar South Security Council Chairman, Chief Asuquo Asuquo who was full of appreciation described the DOPT Director General as a young man with dynamism, a bridge builder, a man who could translate the worth of an office, a pragmatic and visionary leader, whose leadership qualities could bring the state to an enviable position. Still eulogizing the DG, he opined that such qualitative leadership should be given higher responsibilities. The Chairman said that he was satisfied with the DG’s style of execution of assignments,  that is the reason, he called for the collaboration.

While thanking the DOPT DG for his magnanimous approach to governance, one Eyo Eyo (a Loader) described Mr. Nyaim as man of the people whose  exemplary qualities could reposition the State.
