Cross River State Library:Ayade Expanding Cross River State Knowledge-base.

April 13,2019.

The great Nelson Mandela once said “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

A library is the delivery room for the birth of ideas, a place where history comes to life. The library is the temple of learning, and learning has liberated more people than all the wars in history.

The prudent and determined Governor Benedict Ayade has made progress with his SPIRIT OF ENTERPRISE Agenda standing for: Strategic wealth creation projects and provision of jobs; Meaningful peace building platforms aimed at political and social harmony; Agricultural reforms and accelerated industrialisation; Relevant health and education policies; and Transformed environment through urban renewal.

A library can be considered a store – house of knowledge. In dictionaries the word “library” has been defined as “a building or room containing a collection of books”. A library is seen as a collection of sources of information and similar resources made accessible to a defined community for reference or borrowing.

It also provides physical and digital access to materials. The Cross River State Library complex located in the heart of Cross River State, serves this purpose and more.

To a first time visitor, the library offers a unique way to see Cross River State and reflects the choices made by the Governor from its location to its total contents. The state library has been designed to preserve the past, capture the present, inspire the future and promote tourism.

Education is the bedrock of the society. If you want to know the economic and societal future of a people, look at their current attention to knowledge transfer, education and learning.

Governor Ayade recently remodelled the state library with world class facilities, the Cross River State Library is now a historic, touristic, recreational and academic centre regarded as a state archive and place for the preservation of genuine historic papers, documents, materials and other historic items associated with the people of Cross River State.

Education is the bedrock of the society. If you want to know the economic and societal future of a people, look at their current attention to knowledge transfer, education and learning.
