CHIEF ANGELA ODEY - HER POLITICAL SAGACITY AND PROWESS

Chief Angela Ogeyi Odey, the feminine political amazon and Queen of Olachor has not only proven her political sagacity, but also demonstrated that she knows the game of politics. She is very schematic and posses a discernable spirit to flow with the intrigues of politics. That was why she decided to defect to PDP, knowing fully well that she would hardly have any meaningful prospect playing opposition in Cross River State.

Her defection from APC to PDP was greeted with massive chain of defection, which continued to diminish the population of APC members till election day.

In addition, Chief Angela has this irresistible force to always work for the party. She didn't do this alone; she always carried her teaming supporters along and shared with them, no matter how meager whatever she had was. She knows each of them by name, encouraging them to work hard. She keeps telling her supporters that she might not have silver or gold to give them, but whatever effort they put, will without doubt, be rewarded in due seasons, because it is foolhardy to plant and expect immediate harvest.

Another rare attribute that endears me to Chief Angela is her futuristic disposition and the ability to fight the course of her supporters. She believes that it is thuggery to play politics aimlessly; at every point in time, a good politician should be able to know what he/she wants and as leader, politicians should know how to negotiate for their followers, rather than struggling for their own stomach. With this in mind, she was able to secure massive appointments for a good number of her supporters across Yala.

Chief Angela is also famous for her strength and doggedness. Her strength could be compared to that of a unicorn. Believing that she was born to be a leader, she spends sleepless night and restless day strategising and working towards achieving the goal of victory for every one she supports.

Further, she demonstrates unquestionable loyalty and dissipates her energy to ensure that no stone is left unturned. She deployed her personal resources into community development projects, educated voters and mobilized supports for the party.

Further, she cannot be labelled with the condemnable act of defamatory and violent practices in the course of her politicking. She would rather focus and leverage on the strength of whoever she supports. This, in my opinion, is a very healthy and mature manner of playing the game.

In sum, The Oja-Ugu of Yala has played her part; she has finished well by delivering her polling unit and ward for all PDP flag bearers. We do hope that her effort will be rewarded adequately.
