MP Jarigbe Agom, Ishibori community, friends and well wishers bids late Comr Paul Ugabi Ifu aka Bosky Farewell amidst tears
It was indeed a sad moment for the member representing Ogoja/Yala Federal constituency Hon Jarigbe Agom, the family of late Paul Ugabi Ifu, the Ishibori community, friends, the people of Ogoja local government, and the entire Ogoja/Yala constituents as the body of late Mr Ugabi was been laid to rest in his Paternal home at Ishibori, Ogoja local Government area of Cross River State.
Mr Ugabi until his death was a grassroot politician, a peace maker, a philanthropist and a great mobilizer for his political party the PDP, his relationship with the honourable member representing his federal constituency Hon Jarigbe Agom spans over 3 decades and this relationship had transcended into brotherhood.
The atmosphere at the St. Thomas cathedral, Ogoja where his requiem mass was held alongside the calibre of persons who were in attendance and the mammoth crowd who came to bid him farewell, spoke volume about the kind of life he lived in his short stay on earth.
While speaking to newsmen after the mass, Hon Jarigbe Agom with tears dripping down his eyes, hardly could talk, when he finally spoke he narrated how they started life together on the streets of Ogoja and had plans for the future but the wicked hand of death snatched him away, in his words "I weep today because Ugabi has left us too soon, he was my brother and death cannot break that bond, I will forever miss him and I pray he rests in the bosom of the Lord till we meet again "
He also stated that Ugabi was popularly known to be a peace maker and never fails to step in and settle differences whenever the need arises. "The vacuum Ugabi left behind can't be filled easily".
Other dignitaries at the burial ceremony includes Hon Rita Agbo Ayim, immediate past Ogoja local government chairman, Hon Mike Usibe, former chairman of Yala local government area, Mr Leo Iyamgbe the Cross River State security Adviser North, Mr Hillary uchiche, appointees of government, party members, his colleagues and family members.
