GROUPS PRESENT YALA FASHION DESIGNERS TALENT SHOW

Yala has got Talents, we all know this fact. Dough Onah shared a post yesterday of how he's been inspired by many latent talents dotting the landscape of Yala...

In a swift response to the shared post,  the Okadigbo Vanguard along with Feca Okuku Chapter and Impact Foundation have put together a fashion parade tagged: 'Elections no be war'  to arouse these seemingly sleeping talents and also to preach the message of peace at this critical time when we elect those who represent us across board.

It is instructive to note that our own brother, Jack Solo who would be the major artist on that day did a piece of music sometime last year with the same title.

The event promises to encourage the most audacious,  the most promising fashion designer with the sum of one hundred thousand naira (#100,000) only to further his/her business.

You should register your fashion designer with the sum of #10, 000 only.  You never can tell,  he/she might just be the lucky  winner! Plus, all designs exhibited would be bought, which means, everyone goes home a winner and with more money than he /she entered with.

There would be food and drinks that evening of 14th February as it would be our grand way of celebrating the Valentine's day.
Please get in touch if you want to join make this happen.

Venue is Okuku Junction and time is 4pm.

Voters' Education is Core to Election Success - Mrs Angela Odey

Office of the SSA on Mobilization and Enlightenment

January 28, 2019

As Nigeria and Nigerians become increasingly advanced in democracy, there is need for voter's education in the electioneering process to enable them make informed decision in the process of voting.

Addressing Oja-Ugu Media Team and PDP supporters in Calabar, the State Capital, the political juganot stressed the importance of voters' education and enlightenment, not just to deliver a credible candidate, but also to avoid  abuse of franchise.

She specifically emphasized the need to take enlightenment process to hinterland where most voters who are typically illiterate, are resident, pointing out reasons why such action is imminent.

This is to ensure that every electorates cast his or her vote on the basis of factual information about the candidate they are voting for. Besides, since every vote counts, there is need to curtail the number of invalid votes to the barest minimum, and so she advocated the use of prototype ballot papers in the enlightenment process.

She said: "On my own part, I am doing my best to ensure that voters are politically aware to make informed decisions about whom they will cast their votes during the forthcoming election."  "We are now in a global world, with the help of information tech, where desperate politicians can, through the social media and even by the word of the mouth, brainwash ignorant electorates. Therefore, let us, in the little way we can, enlighten people around us to be wary of the diluted information from unpopular candidates."

Warning against politicians who have adopted  the instruments of defamatory comment about their opponents to win the hearts of the electorates, she admonished the listeners to remain steadfast in the decision of supporting the Digital Governor and PDP.

ONNOGHENs REMOVAL: PUSHING BACK IS NOT A SIGN OF DISRESPECT BUT SELF DEFENSE.

*ONNOGHENs REMOVAL: PUSHING BACK IS NOT A SIGN OF DISRESPECT BUT SELF DEFENSE.*

It is time to separate cowardice from seeking deceitful unison that is destructive. The seeming interminably planned annihilation of the south must be stopped now. Power is taken and they seek to truly declare us a conquered territory.

We are not and will never support corruption even though the fight against corruption has been a total deception from the President Muhammadu Buhari/APC Federal led government. But this one must be followed accordingly.

We must all be prepared because GOD ALMIGHTY is about to turn around our dear country by this happening. We should be ready because GOD ALMIGHTY will use this time to show HIMSELF.

(1) The CJN may have committed a criminal offence by law for not declaring his assets as required by the constitution, we support that he faces the law but accordingly for the world to know that we are truly ready for development.

(2) Before the CJNs prosecution, those indicted by different panels and the numerous petitions leveled against other prominent Nigerians who are mostly in President Muhammadu Buhari's campaign council should be speedily followed up and immediately too.

(3) The man who takes the laws for granted by removing the CJN without due process and subsequently swearing in an acting one after denying his knowledge of Justice Onnoghen's suspension through a Pastor Vice President must also face the law accordingly.

(4) We advice the Presidential campaign organization of the APC to shelve their planned campaign in Cross River pending when the CJN Versus Fed. Govt. issue at hand gain a relative level of calmness.

(5) The acting CJN as appointed by the President should be dropped and investigated as we hear very unpalatable stories about him particular his alleged ownership of billions of Naira undeclared.

Meanwhile, Chief Olisa Agbakoba (SAN) has dragged Justice Tanko before the NJC asking the judicial disciplinary body to punish the Supreme Court Justice for presenting himself to be sworn in by President Buhari as the acting CJN without being recommended by the NJC. Remember that in 2018,  March 14th to be precise, in Abia state, the NJC asked the acting Chief Judge, Obisike Orji  to retire for presenting himself to be sworn in by the governor who suspended the Chief Judge, Justice Uzokwe without the input of the NJC. The NJC declared the decision of the governor null and void. And Justice Tanko was on that panel.

Finally, the Federal government should understand that it is natural that if a child is pushed against the wall, he would push back.
Pushing back is not a sign of disrespect, it is self defense.

I am Odama Groovydee Abednigo,
Calabar, Cross River State.

Justice Tanko Muhammed, the illegally sworn in Chief Justice of Nigeria is revealed to have a bank balance of N2.7billion as at Friday the 25th January 2019."
"He has also not declared his assets in the last 4 years.

Majority of his over 30 Children schooled or schooling abroad.
Yet Justice Walter Onnoghen whose declaration certified met section 3 of CCB asset Declaration rules is been treated abysmally". - Hope For Nigeria

Ruminations: Start With What Is In Your Hand II.

29th January, 2019.

There is no formula to determine how many or if anyone came to terms with yesterday's ruminations.

But there was some feedback that is also becoming the "feedfront". They want more. I am inspired to write more. Because there is never a lack of any resources, including small business ideas. There is only a lack of will, as I have consistently maintained.

Those who have decided that whether there was capital or not, whether there was someone to help or not, took up the gauntlet and dived into the deep and the universe responded, causing the winds to blow in their direction and their stories stand to bolster our confidence that we can also break our own ribbons.

Today I will tell you the story of another strong man who towed that path. He is not my friend. He is my senior brother, Godwin Agba's friend. I know him very well. So many people that grew up in Kurmi Mashi, Kaduna know him. He is an educationist.

His name is Mr. Stephen but most people simply call him Mr. Steve. (I will still withold his 2nd name but you will sure get his telephone number as we progress).

Mr. Steve is from Benue state in North Central Nigeria. He is proudly Idoma but he spent most of his life in Kurmi Mashi and Sabon Layi in Kaduna state. He is now a Knight of Saint Mulumba KSM, at the St. Theresa Catholic Parish in Kurmi Mashi.

Like most of us reading this, Mr. Steve was battered sorely by poverty and was forced into carpentry; a trade he never learnt. He will construct what we used to call "cut-and-join" benches and hawk by himself to raise cash and keep things going.

It was a Herculean task raising 10k at the time.

So time passed and Mr. Steve decided to switch to home tutoring because that didnt really require any real capital to start.

His friend, says he only needed a few properly washed, well ironed shirts and trousers, with a good hair cut, so he will look nice while trekking from home to home to deliver his value to the kids.

He was disciplined not to take advantage of the kids he was supposed to be teaching. Their parents saw results. They started referring him to other homes. He couldn't cope alone again with the demand, he had to get a few friends to join him.

That was how Mr. Steve began from teaching kids at home until he raised money and rented a space around "up-Mashi", on your way from Sarki Avenue going to 44 Military hospital in Kaduna, to start his BrainTrust Tutorial center.

In less than two years, BrainTrust became something else. It became an approved WAEC and JAMB center. The crowds were bulging.

Mr. Steve later transformed from a tutorial center to a primary and secondary school. He bought over the uncompleted one storey building he rented and adjoining blocks, completed them and turned them to the school campus.

The crowd still overwhelmed the campus and he had to expand and open a second campus in Goni-Gora in Kaduna South.

Several of my brothers and sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews including Doris Ominu,  graduated from BrainTrust Tutorial and BrainTrust Comprehensive Secondary School.

Today Mr. Steve, who couldn't raise 10k, is not only a millionaire educationist, he is also giving so much back to the society and also getting his due recognition.

The school has trained people I know who are now Lieutenant Colonels in the Army, Navy Commander, Engineers etc.

He has also extended his fortune in scholarship to several students and the Catholic church has rightly recognized him with a befitting honor as a Knight of the Order of Saint Mulumba.

Mr. Steve is not elusive. He is alive and available to be reached. If you want for your wards, a school that wasn't built on capital but on value, a school with a legacy of resilience and doggedness, call BrainTrust Comprehensive School on: 08033582227 and do send your children there.

Finally, when I talk about starting with what you have in your hands, I am not asking you to do what others have not done before.

I am simply saying you should look around and ask yourself if you can be of any use to your immediate environment.

Identify that use. Turn it to value. Market the value. Someone who needs it will ask for it, pay for it and you will have some money.

This morning, you have another day and another chance to try your wits. Combine it with faith in God and count your blessings when you try.

Thank you again for your time.

Yours sincerely,
Citizen Agba Jalingo.

FIFTY NAIRA OR YOUR INTEGRITY

Sometime ago, a preacher from a distant town was transferred to a local Church.

Some weeks after his arrival, he had an appointment that made him to board a bus to another part of the town.

When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had mistakenly given him his balance in excess of 50 naira.

As he considered what to do, he thought within him,
'You'd  better give this money back. It would be wrong to keep it'.

Then another thought came,
"Oh, forget it, it's only 50 naira; who would worry about this little amount,
after all the bus company makes so much money on fares; they will never miss it.

Accept it  as 'a gift from God' and keep quiet.

When he was getting down from the bus, he paused momentarily at the door, and then handed the 50 naira to the driver and said,

'Take;
the balance you gave me was over'.

The driver, with a smile, replied,'

'Aren't you the new  preacher in town?'

'Yes I am'
he replied.'
I'd almost concluded that there are no Christians again and I will not go church again because of people's attitudes.
Thank God you passed this little test.
I have been thinking a lot lately about where to go to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I give you balance in excess.
I'll worship with you at the Church this Sunday.

When the preacher stepped off the bus, he grabbed a nearby pole, looked up and said,

'Oh God, I almost sold your  Son for 50 naira.'

Our lifestyles are the only Bible some people will ever read.

This is just a subtle example of how much people watch us as Christians, and will put us to test!

Always be on guard -- and remember --

You carry the name of Christ on your forehead and shoulders once you call yourself a Christian. '

'Watch your thoughts;they become words.'

'Watch your words; they become actions.'

'Watch your actions; they become habits.'

'Watch your habits; they become character.'

'Watch your character; it becomes your destiny'.

I'm glad a friend forwarded this to me as a reminder and I  chose to forward it to you.

If you don't pass this on to anybody, nothing bad will  happen to u;
but, if you do,
you would have ministered to someone today and God will bless you.

If you  must miss any place, don't miss *HEAVEN* .

*The end is no more NEAR, It's HERE.*

Pls send this to all those u'll like to see in heaven.

DON'T KEEP QUIET, SPEAK OUT...

29th January, 2019.

If Ken Saro Wiwa was quiet, the Ogoni people in Nigeria would have continued suffering in Nigeria as Shell continued stealing their resources and destroying their land making it harder for Ogoni people to farm and fish in surrounding land.

If Nelson Mandela had chosed to remain quiet, South African blacks would have remained slaves to White Supremacists.

If Mahatma Gandhi had been quiet, India would have remained slaves to Great Britain for a very long time.

If William Wallace had been quiet, Scotland would never had tested independence and freedom. They would have remained slaves to England.

If Martin Luther King had been quiet, the USA government wouldn't have made reforms to protect blacks in America.

If Martin Luther had been quiet, the Catholic Priest and the Aristocracts who controlled the world at the time would have continued enslaving poor people as they were doing 500 years ago. There wouldnt have been any other church except the Roman Catholic Church.

If Malcolm X had been quiet, black people would not have been free today in America to own certain things.

If Rosa Parks had been quiet, the black Americans would still have been standing on the buses while white people are seated.

Etc etc etc.

One day we shall be safe. The price of freedom is heavy but we must be willing to pay the price than to live in bondage, oppression and intimidation.

Those who don't want to fight for justice and righteousness for ALL but want to continue enslaving others and taking the crumbs from the master against the interest of their own people can do so. It is their choice but we will keep encouraging those willing to pay a price without shame.

ALL of us men of Goodwill will not keep quiet. We know we can be killed, but we will keep talking. God will be with us.

Sensitization program: GROUP GRANT SCHOLARSHIP TO STUDENTS

28/01/2019

Today been the fourth day of the first phase of Teenage sensitization program for secondary schools in Yala LGA took another dimension today as we went to two schools to pay school fees of two students with critical situations.

Onawu Samuel Okom whose parents; Mr. & Mrs Onawu from Wanihem, Ukelle, Yala LGA are critically down financially because of the health of their mother that caused the man to sell his shop to pay her medical bills, rendering him jobless till this moment. Their situation got worst when they lost one of their child due to lack of money to pay her medical bills sometime in December 2018. Raising 4,000 naira to pay Samuel and his sibling school fees has become challenging. This prompted our team to extend her hand to the family by paying Samuel's fees today in
Ferdy Memorial primary school.

Ipuole Blessing Owokonu's case was the second.
She is an Orphan who lost her both parents some years back, and her fees of 4,900 naira is been catered by her immediate elder sister that is struggling to sustain herself and her younger sister. Our attention was drawn and we also went  to Technical College Okpoma to pay Blessing's school fees.

We still hope to reach out to some children their Father got blind recently and life is unfair to them and some other children that are deeply in need.

Today was a success through the help of some incredible humanitarians who's lives are just dedicated to serving humanity; Dian Honesty and Nchor Julius Uti

Can't and stop thanking my incredible Team members, facilitators and you all.

We solicits for support to reach out to other children in need, especially those blind family who we wept with seeing them and their children but couldn't have enough to pay for them at the moment. Thanks and God bless you all

Military ‘Seizes Power’ in Gabon

Junior officers say they have seized power in oil-rich Gabon, where the ailing leader’s family has ruled for 50 years.
Soldiers in the west African country say they launched a coup “to restore democracy”.
They took control of the national radio station at 04:30 local time (03:30 GMT) to read a short statement announcing a “National Restoration Council”.
Tanks and armed vehicles can be seen on the streets of the capital Libreville.

Ali Bongo succeeded his father Omar Bongo as president in 2009. He narrowly won re-election in 2016 in a poll marred by violence and accusations of fraud.
Mr Bongo, who has been out of the country for two months, reportedly suffered a stroke in October and received treatment in Morocco.
He sought to put an end to the rumours about his health with a televised New Year message in which he said he was feeling fine.
Soldiers said they had been disappointed by the message, calling it “a pitiful sight” and a “relentless attempt to cling onto power.”
“It reinforced doubts about his ability to assume the responsibilities of his role as President of the Republic”, said Lt Kelly Ondo Obiang, the leader of the so-called Patriotic Movement of the Defence and Security Forces of Gabon.
He specifically appealed to young people to “take charge of their destiny”.
The insurgents called on soldiers to take control of the transport system, ammunition reserves and airports “in the interests of the nation”.
There is no word so far from the government.
President Trump has deployed soldiers to Gabon to protect US citizens amid fears of violent protests in the neighbouring Democratic Republic of Congo following its presidential election. (BBC)

Justice Onnoghen: Why Saraki should be declared President now – ADC

28/Jan/2019.

The National Chairman of African Democratic Congress, ADC, Chief Ralphs Nwosu, has called on the National Assembly to declare Senate President, Bukola Saraki president of Nigeria.
He said this should be done with immediate effect.
Nwosu made the call in a statement signed and issued, yesterday, by Yemi Kolapo, ADC National Publicity Secretary.

He said the action was necessary considering recent happenings, especially the alleged ridiculing of the constitution by President Muhammadu Buhari.
He said the President’s actions indicated that “he could no long continue to rule the nation.”
He said blunders against Nigeria’s fledgling democracy indicated that “the president and his vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, were no longer capable of staying in office.”
Accirding to him, “the Presidency had no right to remove or suspend the head of the Judiciary arm of government without due process.”
He added that “the president has committed a grave offence against the nation.”
Nwosu also pointed out that it would be less reckless for the legislature to take over power from this government without necessarily going through any impeachment procedure.
“The National Assembly should declare the Senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki, president,” Nwosu said.

Onnoghen: Osinbajo Jittery As He Comes Under Serious Attack, Asked To Resign And May Be Banned From The NBA!

Onnoghen: Osinbajo Jittery As He Comes Under Serious Attack, Asked To Resign And May Be Banned From The NBA!
dailyadvent.com Jan 26, 2019 11:26 AM

Nigerians have come after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in regards to the suspension of Chief Justice Walter Onnoghen by his principal, President Muhammadu Buhari.

Recall that just yesterday, Friday 25th, President Buhari had suspended CJN Onnoghen and immedialy installed Justice Tanko Mohammed as acting CJN.

Buhari had claimed he was acting on the order from the Code of Conduct Tribunal which had asked him to sack the Chief Justice.

The move has however sparked widespread criticism from various angles.

Most Nigerians have been critical of Osinbajo’s involvment in the whole issue as he ought to be a good adviser to his principal with the fact that he is both a SAN and a Pastor.

Here are some comments gathered:

@Adeyanjudeji “Osinbajo values principles or decency, he would resign today & no longer be part of this disgrace, but he is not different from the tyrant. Everything Buhari touches turns to ash, all the intellectuals around the President have been transformed to semi-literates.Tyrant Buhari.”

@Temphiz “Prof Osinbajo is a total disappointment. Expected more from a cerebral person like him. And don’t say his hands are tied though cos you won’t be truthful to yourself that way.”

@UcheBriggs “Listen. We can no longer absolve Prof Pastor Osinbajo. Whatever excuse we may have made for him before, it ends now.”

@Dolarpo “If Osibanjo still hasn’t resigned after this, what shall we say of these things? what shall it profit a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul? Sir, this is where I rest my case.”

@Timothy13818925 “I call on the National Judicial Council and Nigeria Bar Association to, as a matter of urgency, punish Osinbajo and withdraw all his qualifications and titles for his failure to guide president Buhari aright. He is a great disappointment to the judiciary and democracy of Nigeria.”

@Olurops “Wait, Osinbajo is a professor of law. Shame on him.Fake pastor.“

@Walexcul “Buhari is nothing but an enemy of democracy and Osinbajo is a disgrace to the law profession. Tyrant Buhari.”

@Musterwizzle “Osinbajo has the fear of God ni as the Pastor that he is, he should have resigned by now to protest all these illegalities.”

@Nwankpa_A “Atiku fought his boss over 3rd term. It was almost political harakiri, but he dived in head first. Where is Prof Osinbajo? Does he agree with this?

@Ovieo “Your darling VP, Prof. Osinbajo is fully complicit. Totally, absolutely, completely. History will judge your MCM as a tool in the hands of this tyrant you all call your president.”

@Harshtagseries “Osibanjo should honourably resign. All the appointment made has been reversed ranging from DSS boss to CJN.So sad.“

@nK “When Osinbajo declared his assets publicly, he said he had $900k and N94m in his bank accounts. His assets were valued at over $2m. Robert Clarke didn’t ask how a former Lagos state commissioner of justice is worth $2m.

@Switkem “Nigeria is *ucked, Buhari is a mistake, Osinbajo is a wolf in sheep clothing What a mistake!!!

@Atooki_Olayemi “I challenge the credibility of SAN of VP Osinbajo as to the level of legal advice he is giving the present administration if he can sit and watch his principal to turn the constitution of the country upside-down.”

@OtunbaSula “I am pretty sure Osinbajo is game with all these. He nodded in approval when Buhari stressed: “Rule of law is subject to National Interest” just months ago. By the way, he is in a good position to recommend amendments to the constitution that gives corruption a fighting chance.”

@KengKengati “Osinbajo is the greatest embarrassment in all of these. Senior Advocate of Nonsense.

Chief Angela rallies for PVC collection

January 28,2019

The saying that ‘your vote is your power’ is gaining grounds on the build up to the 2019 general election.

Politicians and volunteers have continued to urge eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Card,it was in that frame that the Senior special Assistant on Mobilization and enlightenment to the cross river state Government Mrs.Angela Ogeyi Odey Organised an enlightenment campaign in Okpoma the Yala Local Government headquarters.

During the enlightenment campaign , which was aimed at encouraging the voters to obtain their PVC, thousands of people converged for a walk round Okpoma town and its environs, sharing flyers and engaging on one-on-one discussions with eligible voters on the importance of getting the PVC.
The walk, which took off at Christ the king college through Okuku road,  with a brief stop at the local council premises.

In her remarks on the occasion, Angela said the walk was in continued efforts to ensure the success of 2019 election and for voters to vote for candidates that will take them to a greater height, which depends on the PVC.
She added: “Therefore we can not ignore the need to posses the PVC which is our political and economic power.
I cannot claim to be oblivious of the problems being encountered in the process of PVC collection, I want to encourage you to fight all the odds and disallow the challenges from disenfranchising you.”
“This rally and the efforts put into it will not worth the wile if eligible voters cannot collect their cards.

Your PVC, the time to do that is now, voting is not only a constitutional demand but also a natural imperative.
Our population, particularly in Yala is a huge potential and you know what that means if 90 Percent of eligible voters vote for their party/candidates and the consequent development arising there from,” she added.

The PDP stalwart, advised the youths to take the crusade as theirs, stressing that they are the leaders of not only the future, but now.
Angela advised voters to shun money politics, which she said has thwarted the growth of our nation, adding, “Do not sell your future on the platter of a well-oiled pottage.

This is the time to take your destiny in your hands, nobody will do it for you.
We all have the choice to take any decision as deemed appropriate, but we must be prepared to accept the consequences of our choice.”

She also tasked them to eschew violence in the coming electioneering and discourage campaign of calumny and fabrications against political contenders.
“We must as a people strive to herald a new political culture devoid of desperation and anarchy,” she declared.

CROSS RIVER YOUTH GIVE PRESIDENT BUHARI 24 HOURS ULTIMATUM TO REVOKE JUSTICE WALTER ONNEGHEN'S PURPORTED SUSPENSION OR FORGET COMING TO THE STATE TO CAMPAIGN FOR HIS RE-ELECTION

PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATION  ADDRESS:

PURPORTED SUSPENSION OF CHIEF JUSTICE OF NIGERIA, HON. JUSTICE WALTER NKANU ONNOGHEN BY PRESIDENT MOHAMMADU BUHARI

Distinguished youth leaders, fellow Cross Riverians, fellow Nigeriains/Compatriots and
Ladies and gentle men of the press,
Youths present at this very crucial meeting,

We are gathered here today not as members of PDP or APC but simply as Nigerians and as Cross Riverians, we are all aware of the constitutional crisis our nation has been thrown into by our president, president Mohammadu Buhari and his cabals' ill decision to suspend the Chief Justice of the Federation, Justice Walter Nkanu Onnoghen and replacing him with Alh. Justice Mohammed Tanko. We are deeply concerned as Cross Riverians hence our meetting here today speak against that illegal and unconstitutional suspension of one of ours. We as youths of this great State condemn the action of President Muhammadu Buhari and his cabals purporting to suspend the Chief Justice of Nigeria who is from our Cross River, in the South South and replacing him with an acting Chief Justice, Justice Mohammed Tanko from Bauchi, in the North east. This action of Mr. President and his cabals can best be described as an act of desperation taken too far. The action of the President is in violation of the Constitutional procedures for the removal of the Chief Justice of Nigeria as stipulated in section 292 of the Nigerian Constitution and represents a major threat to Nigeria’s democracy and a descent into Constitutional anarchy.

The Constitution of Nigeria is explicit in stating that the Chief Justice of Nigeria may only be removed from Office upon a motion supported by two-thirds of members of the Nigeria Senate on specified grounds. In purporting to remove the Chief Justice of Nigeria from Office, President Buhari has breached the Constitution and has acted with impunity and disdain for the rule of law, due process and constitutionality.

This act of tyrany, clearly is a declaration of war on the judiciary and must not be allowed to stand.

The idea of separating powers is one of the key differences between Democracy and the tyranny Buhari is promoting: We note that there are three arms of Govt - the Executive, the Legislature and the Judiciary.

Buhari by his action has clearly breached this doctrine.
No arm of Govt can solely remove the head of another arm of Govt - it has to be two arms against one.
the Legislature cannot remove Buhari as Head of the Executive without recourse to the Judiciary, what President Buhari is simply carrying out is a coup.
The doctrine of separation of powers is clear:
1.To remove the Executive, the Legislature and Judiciary must agree.

2.To remove the entire Legislature, the Judiciary and Executive must agree.

3.To remove the Judiciary, the Legislature and the Executive must agree.
In other words it must be two against one.

History has clearly shown that what Buhari has attempted is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria.
Never has any Head of the Executive so brazenly displayed a penchant for tyrannical behaviour as this.

The Code of Conduct Tribunal headed by Danladi Umar who is as much a lay man like us pretended to deliver justice but danced solely to the whims and caprice of the executive.  Most appalling is the fact that the Danladi Umar  himself has a case of corruption with EFCC and as such he is considered unworthy to adjudicate over any such matter. This means that our president ignores the case of corruption against Danladi Umar but uses him to perpetrate a coup against the judiciary.
We consider the experte order purpoted to have emannated from the Danladi Umar-headed CCT to the President as an illegal order that must be resisted.

Recall that there are several court orders including one from the Court of Appeal on this matter, preventing the CCT not only from making such reccomendations but from even trying the Chief Justice of Nigeria at all.

In essence, Buhari chosed to follow the tribunal rather than the law courts.
And the tribunal had no such powers in the first place;

President Buhari has suspended the Constitution thereby applying fascist rule. He has no power whatsoever under our democracy to unilaterally suspend CJN without the input of the National Assembly, especially the Senate.

This unconstitutional act of Mr. President has demonstrated that the government is pursuing an evil agenda against the judiciary. This is a dictatorship in the highest order. It means even the Nigerian Constitution has been suspended.

Nigerians accross the country, of all tribe and of all religions must rise up in unionism to defend our democracy. Buhari’s onslaught against democracy must be resisted by all men of goodwill. No doubt that Buhari has let loose full blown dictatorship where hard and fast rules have been introduced in place of our Constitution.

As Cross Riverians we consider this action as a direct assault on our collective aspirations to live in a united Nigeria. We shall resist this discriminatory action of the present government even with the last drop of our blood. Nigeria belongs to all of us therefore, we will no longer allow ourselves to be treated as second class beings.

Mr. President must review his action in the best interest of our corporate existence and revise the illegal suspension of the CJN with immediate effect.

WE THE YOUTH OF CROSS RIVER STATE HEREBY UNEQUIVOCALLY GIVE PRESIDENT BUHARI 24 HOURS ULTIMATUM TO REVOKE JUSTICE WALTER ONNEGHEN'S PURPORTED SUSPENSION OR FORGET COMING TO THE STATE TO CAMPAIGN FOR HIS RE-ELECTION

We therefore call on the Nigerian Bar Association, Civil Society Organisation, all political parties, Socio-political Organisations and indeed the international community to prevail on the Buhari-led government to back down on his divisive, highly discriminatory and unconstitutional actions before he sets the Country on fire. The destiny of our democracy is in shamble, the end of democracy in Nigeria is near and action must be taken quickly to right our wrongs, do justice and to save our future.
We call on all sons and daughters of our dear state to rise strongly with one voice against this action against one of ours.

God Bless the Youth!

God Bless Cross River State!!

God Bless Federal Republic of Nigeria!!!

GOD BLESS YOU ALL FOR COMING

Cross River APC scribe, 1000 others defect to PDP, campaign for Ayade

The mass exodus of members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River state continued at the weekend when the assistant secretary of the party, Mr. Sunday Omang, led  over one thousand of his supporters to defect to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) during Governor Ben Ayade's campaign rally in Bekwarra local government area of the state.
Until his defection, Omang was also a member of President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign organization in the state.
Addressing thousands of cheering PDP supporters at the rally, the erstwhile APC scribe, flanked by his co-defectors said no sensible Cross Riverian will remain in the APC after seeing Governor Ayade's massive industrialization drive and infrastructural development of the state just within three and half years in office.
Omang said:" my decision to join the PDP was never influenced in anyway by anybody. Rather, I took the decision alongside my supporters to join PDP because of the good works Governor Ayade is doing to transform Cross River."
According to him, “we are very impressed with development under Ayade, hence our decision to join the  PDP train in support of our northern brother to move the state forward. And l want to assure you that we would work for your victory and we appeal, we should be fully integrated and accepted in the party."
Also at the rally, the northern zone of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) declared their unalloyed support for the governor in his re-election bid.
They predicated their support for Ayade in office on his achievements including the ongoing dualization of the 147km mfom-okuku-Obudu dual carriage highway which cuts across the five local government areas of the north.
The Governor was also adopted by fifty thousand member strong okada riders association in Bekwarra who pledged their total support.
In his response, Governor Ayade said his government has already acquired machines to set up a groundnut shelling factories in four locations of the local government.
He also announced plans by his administration to set up a vegetable oil factory in Bekwarra. Ayade also told the cheering crowd that Bekwarra will be the biggest beneficiary of the ongoing 270 kilometers super highway when it is completed linking Cross River state with the northern part of the county.
Earlier, the Governor was overwhelmingly endorsed by the Paramount ruler, clan heads and all the chiefs of Bekwarra.
The Paramount ruler, HRM, Linus Ogbeche Odey, informed the Governor that Bekwarra has over seventy thousand voting strength, assuring the governor that 100 percent of the votes will be cast for him.
He thanked the Governor for the several appointment given to Bekwarra sons and daughters.

IGP ADAMU RETIRES ALL DIGS ~ Premium times

Inspector-General Muhammed Adamu has retired seven deputy inspectors-general of police who were his seniors, Premium Times has learnt from police sources.

The affected officers are Maigari Dikko, the DIG in charge of finance and administration and Habila Joshak, the DIG in charge of operations.

The remaining five DIGs are Emmanuel Inyang, information and communications technology; Agboola Oshodi-Glover, logistics and supply; Mohammed Katsina, research and planning; Sani Mohammed, training and development; and Peace Ibekwe-Abdallah, federal criminal investigation and intelligence.

Their retirement came Sunday evening, and it would be announced formally later, it was learnt. Police spokesperson, Frank Mba’s telephone was switched off at the time of this report.

The seven officers were amongst 15 senior officers PREMIUM TIMES reported were likely to be retired on January 17.

The seven DIGs and eight assistant inspectors-general were identified as having joined the police before Mr Adamu, who was appointed on January 15 after the former IG Ibrahim Idris was retired as he attained 60 years.

The seven police chiefs’ departure was in furtherance of the convention that recommends the retirement of senior police chiefs when an officer junior to them in service or lower in rank is appointed to lead the institution.

When Mr Idris was appointed IG in 2016, more than 20 DIGs and AIGs were compelled to retire from service to enable him constitute his management team.

Mr Adamu has now followed the tradition, which has been criticised as wasteful and demoralising because of huge resources the nation had spent on the vast knowledge the senior officers had acquired over the years.

.SARAKI, DOGARA, EKWEREMMADU, LASUN, MURRAY-BRUCE, MELAYE TO BE STOPPED FROM ACCESSING THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ON TUESDAY

.CALLS ON NIGERIANS TO RISE UP NOW, BE VIGILANT AND DEFEND OUR DEMOCRACY BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.

The CUPP is once again raising alarm having received incontrovertible facts over a fresh plot that has been hatched and which has received the go-ahead nod of President Muhammadu Buhari led APC  govt for a violent, undemocratic, unlawful, illegal and demonic takeover of the leadership of both Chambers of the National Assembly on Tuesday, 29th January, 2019. The APC led Federal government are of the firm belief that Tuesday is their best and last chance to effect the changes as their control of the judiciary will be put to use to ensure there is no reversal of justice for the present occupants. The Senate will reconvene on Tuesday to discuss the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The APC is ready to do whatever it takes to destroy the very fulcrum of our constitutional democracy on Tuesday and have vowed, it is tomorrow or never. The judicial coup which they believed was supposed to be more difficult went very easily beyond their imagination hence the need to complete the takeover of the National Assembly immediately so that the distraction of the election campaigns will be put to use. They have also resolved that the government will make some big positive announcements tomorrow being Monday, 28th January so as to deflect the minds of Nigerians. Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Chibuike Amechi and Babatunde Fashola have been saddled with the responsibility of choosing the issue for announcement by the government.

The plot will see the criminal announcement of Sen. Ahmmed Lawan as the Senate President, Sen. Hope Uzodimma as the Deputy Senate President and Sen. Godswill Akpabio as the Senate Leader. While in the House of Representatives, Hon Gbajabiamila will be announced as the Speaker of the House and Hon Abdulmimin Jibril will be announced as the Deputy Speaker. The decision on who will be the House leader will be resolved by the trio of Bola Tinubu, Adams Oshiomhole and Sen. Gorge Akume.

The arrowheads of this treasonable plot in the National Assembly include Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, Ali Ndume, George Akume and Kabiru Gaya. While the mebers of the House who are part of this plot to destroy democracy include Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, Hon. Abdulmimin Jubril and Hon. Agbonayima.

To ensure the plot goes successfully, the Federal Government has mapped out the sum of $70, 000 for each Senator and $40, 000 for each House member for what it called welfare since majority of them will be compelled to be in town suddenly. The money for the bribes have already been released to Senator Lawan and Hon. Gbajabiamila for onward distribution to their members as they return. The money amounting to $15million ($8million for the House and $7 million for the Senate) was sourced from NNPC, CBN, NDDC, NPA, NIMASA, a commercial bank and a company the owner of whom is a member of the cabal.

Nigerians are hereby put on notice that these coupists are plotting that Sen. Saraki, the Senate President, Sen Ike Ekweremmadu the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ben Bruce and Sen. Sen. Dino Melaye, Biodun Olujimi, Hon. Dogara, Kingsley Chinda, Nnena Ukeje among others would be stopped by security agents from gaining entrance into the National Assembly. Thugs have been mobilized from Plateau, Kwara and Kogi to mount protest at the gates of the National assembly and have the approval to attack and disperse any group that come to hold a counter rally.

Nigerians have been sleeping too much and not keeping vigilance. We hereby reiterate our call;
If you are sleeping- wake up!
If you are eating – stop!
If you are playing – stop!

The political barbarians are knocking on the last door of constitutional governance and democratic rule and are willing to knock it down if we do not resist them. This was how Hitler started! He burnt down the parliament and we all know the tyrant that was born afterwards.

Nigerians be vigilant, many citizens paid the supreme price to win our democracy which President Buhari APC and his Buccaneers want to destroy.

We shall stand shoulder to shoulder with all men of good will till we overcome.

They claim they have taken over the Media!
They claim they have taken over the judiciary!
They claim they have taken over the INEC!
They claim they are now taking over the Legislature!

But alas!!! They have not taken over the Nigerian people, our collective will and our renowned resilience to push back evil out of our land!

Freedom comes by struggle!

PRE-ELECTION VIOLENCE IN BOKI ~ Modlin

When you have no skill, no degree, no job, no family responsibility, no selfworth, nothing positive to fight for, when you haven't enjoyed the bliss in a little comfort or the respect from people or recognition from the society even your immediate family. When you haven't traveled wide to learn the depth of life, be sure that desperate people will exploit your ignorance and poverty especially during elections. This is not about APC, PDP, SDP or any other political party. This is about us, as young people.

Note seriously that they recognize these "human tools" only during elections which comes just once in four years afterwards, they vanish. They buy amunitions that are more expensive than the money they ordinarily should give to their preys for something positive and impactful and invoke fetish powers into the gullible ones. They all of a sudden, become "lords of doom". Such characters in our dear Boki land will fail any election and fail overwhelmingly. A person that is in charge doesn't need violence to prove it, all arguments should naturally fall in place.

Not everyone will read this, because some are in bushes, fortifying themselves, some are out there, looking for posters to destroy or supporters of their opponents to beat up while others may see this advisory piece but yet, not know what it means. However, it is better to die ones as a brave man than to live a thousand times as a coward.

Dear Boki youths, we know our leaders, we know who they are, beyond what they tell us they are. A man that gives you arms and charms is not your boss but your enemy. He will never consider you when opportunities to work in reasonable places comes because you've proven yourself a necessary nuisance fit only, for filthy assignments. He will never want you to grow beyond that level of thuggery and servitude. Let us shun violence. Go to school, learn a skill and create an identity for yourself.

CRS SDP YALA1 STATE CONSTITUENCY STATE, EMALUJI DEBUNK RUMOR OF ENDORSING JUDE NGAJI OF APC...

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, my attention has been drawn to a post in circulation from the camp of the APC as regards my endorsing its candidate for Ogoja/Yala Federal constituency, I want to state unequivocally that myself, Comr Michael Sunday Emaluji and the Social Democratic Party has nothing to do with Chief Jude Ngaji's candidacy and I have never by omission or commission endorsed him for the Ogoja/Yala Federal constituency seat.

SDP as a party will at the appropriate time issue a press statement as regards who he's endorsing for the Ogoja/Yala Federal constituency, we understand that they are trying to tarnish the good image in which we have built but their efforts are all in futility as we remain resolute as a party and the Realhope dream and mandate remains intact for the yala 1 state constituency. The purported endorsement is baseless and without foundation and I urge all our teeming supporters to disregard the report.

Given the temperament of the times and the implications of such innuendos, I am constrained to categorically state as follows that there's no iota of truth in the story and the purported report is therefore nothing but a poorly concocted piece of a malicious hatchet job and a pack of lies, and should be appropriately ignored.

Thank you and God bless

Signed
Comrade Emaluji, CRSHA, Yala 1 Constituency Hopeful.

GOV. BEN AYADE STORMS YALA AMIDST MAMMOTH CROWD

Office of the SSA to the Governor of Cross River State on Mobilization and Enlightenment

January 24, 2019

His Excellency, Governor Ben Ayade, on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 was received by the timbers and calibers of politicians in Yala Local Government in Cross River North.

He touched down at Wanokom, the ancestral home of Ukelle, to receive the great political iroko of Ukelle, Dr. Julius Okputu, who defected from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with thousands of supporters.

PDP big wigs who were drawn from the hills of Obanliku to the shores of Bakassi were in Ukelle land to witness what could be aptly described as "campaign flag up of the century".

For many 'Thomases' who doubted the return of the 'Jesus of Ukelle Land,' it was a big blow to see that the event of the campaign flag up climaxed in the defection of the political genius.

The Governor proceeded from the hospitable land of Ukelle to Okpoma in Yala 1 Constituency, where countless number of supporters eagerly waited to receive him.

In the previous night of the event, Chief Mrs Angela Ogeyi Odey, under the aegis of Oja-Ugu Supporters platform and Office of SSA to Governor Ayade on Mobilization and Enlightenment, had gone round Okpoma and environs, using her official hiluz with musical blast of Governor Ayade's campaign jingle, to sensitize the electorates on the triumphant entry of the supersonic Governor, Senator Ben Ayade.

Early morning on Tuesday, the political amazon of Yala, Chief Angela Odey, also went round with Oja-Ugu Supporters to remind the public that the big masquerade would show up at the playground to answer possible questions that that they have deemed to have defied answers.

In his speech, Governor Ben Ayade cleared the doubt from the minds of many that he wouldn't keep to his promises of completing the Mfom-Okpoma-Okuku-Bekwara Super Highway, asking those present who they think would complete the project if he (Governor Ben Ayade) is not re-elected.

He was emphatic of the fact that he is a full blooded Yala man, stressing that he is keen about making Yala sons and daughters millionaires.

The party flag was handed to all PDP flag bearers, who were cheered by the tumult crowd whose rhythm of victorious chant filled the air.

What the law says on removal of CJN

The controversial suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, by President Muhammadu Buhari has continued to elicit mixed reactions.

In removing Mr Onnoghen, Mr Buhari claimed he acted based on a Code of Conduct Tribunal order.

Many Nigerians, however, believe the president has no such powers to remove a CJN from office.

Section 292 of the Nigerian constitution deals with the removal of some public officials including the CJN. The section does not distinguish temporary removal (suspension) from a permanent removal (sack).

Below is the law as reproduced verbatim from the constitution

“A judicial officer shall not be removed from his office or appointment before his age of retirement except in the following circumstances

(a) in the case of –

“Chief Justice of Nigeria, President of the Court of Appeal, Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Chief Judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Grand Kadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and President, Customary Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, by the President acting on an address supported by two-thirds majority of the Senate.”

(ii) Chief Judge of a State, Grand Kadi of a Sharia Court of Appeal or President of a Customary Court of Appeal of a State, by the Governor acting on an address supported by two-thirds majority of the House of Assembly of the State,

Praying that he be so removed for his inability to discharge the functions of his office or appointment (whether arising from infirmity of mind or of body) or for misconduct or contravention of the Code of Conduct;

(b) in any case, other than those to which paragraph (a) of this subsection applies, by the President or, as the case may be, the Governor acting on the recommendation of the National Judicial Council that the judicial officer be so removed for his inability to discharge the functions of his office or appointment (whether arising from infirmity of mind or of body) or for misconduct or contravention of the Code of Conduct.

In other words, a sitting CJN can only be removed from office by the president after at least two-thirds majority members of the Senate support such a move. No such matter has been debated in the Senate.

COUP AGAINST THE NIGERIAN JUDICIARY AND SUSPENSION OF THE NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION

1. The news media has been awash this evening with the news of the purported suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Honorable Mr. Justice Walter S C Onnoghen, GCON by President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR and the swearing in of Hon Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria. We are told that this was pursuant to an Ex-Parte Order that was issued by the Code of Conduct Tribunal on Wednesday, 23 January 2019.

2. The Nigerian Bar Association unequivocally rejects and condemns this attempted coup against the Nigerian Judiciary and evident suspension of the Nigerian Constitution by the Executive arm of the Federal Government. The action of the Executive portends a slide into anarchy and complete deconstruction of the Rule of Law and due process. It amounts to an absolute breach of the Constitution and the usurpation of the powers of the Senate and the Nigerian Judicial Council.

3. It is unfortunate that the Executive Branch of Government purports to suspend the CJN on the basis of an alleged ex-parte order of the Code of Conduct Tribunal – the same Tribunal that, to the knowledge of the Executive, had, only the previous day, Tuesday, 22 January 2019 adjourned its proceedings to Monday, 28 January 2019 and has before it a Motion on Notice that is yet to be argued, seeking the same reliefs as were contained in the purported ex-parte application, to wit, the suspension of the CJN, amongst others.

4. We call on the Federal Government to avert the looming constitutional crisis precipitated by its ill-advised action. In particular, the Nigerian Bar Association demands the reversal of the purported suspension of Honorable Mr. Justice Walter S C Onnoghen, GCON. We also call on the National Assembly to assert its constitutional authority and powers and prevent this slide into chaos and erosion of the Rule of Law.

Paul Usoro, SAN President
