Tekno damages vocal box, taking time off music

Augustine Kelechi, popularly known by his stage name Tekno, is reported to have temporarily damaged his vocal box and has therefore taken time off music to overcome the set back.
Triple MG boss Ubi Franklin said that Tekno will be taking time off the music industry

Franklin unveiled the reason for Tekno’s long absence from the industry in a statement released on his Instagram where he confirmed that the singer had damaged his vocal box temporarily.

He wrote: @ubifranklintriplemg “His vocal box is temporarily damaged due to strain from overtime performances and cannot sing or perform for a while.”
Franklin explained that Tekno has been having tough times lately due to the ailment.

“These past few months have been trying times for your favorite boy Tekno Miles.
“He tried to downplay the severity of his ailment, but after several diagnoses doctors have advised that he takes time out to fully recover”.
Franklin appealed to Tekno’s fans to put him in prayers and send love and positivity his way considering the ‘Pana’ crooner is going through tough times.
The management reassured fans that despite Tekno’s absence, there will be some music released.
“He also wants to reassure his fans that they have nothing to worry about because he has put in so much work, so a lot of great music will be put out.”
Recalls that in April, 2017, Tekno was forced to cancel booked shows after he was admitted in an American hospital for acid reflux.
In 2018, Tekno released three non album singles including ‘Jogodo’, ‘Your love’, and ‘Choko’.
Tekno won the ‘Best New Act’ at the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2016 and was nominated for the ‘Best International Act Africa’ at the BET Award 2017.

STOP BLACKMAILING (CENSA) Modlin Odu warns APC Youths.

I have been reliably informed that two desperate characters from Boki and Obubra (names will be made known when necessary) in the All Progressive Congress are manipulating some Executive members of CENTRAL SENATORIAL STUDENTS ASSEMBLY OF CROSS RIVER STATE to cause unnecessary rancour in the association on account of the unrestrained access, respect, recognition and love shown to the group by Ntufam Dr Sandy Ojang Onor across party lines.

Recall that, Ntufam Dr Sandy Ojang Onor aside from being a Senatorial candidate, he is also a scholar, an intellectual, a lecturer, an Associate Professor in History and so, he is readily available to impact knowledge on students at any point in time. His display of humility,  uncommon competence and capacity can only make agents of backwardness to loose sleep. He loves Students and they have gone to get their PVCs to reciprocate this love. Tell your candidate to be humble and accessible. Leave CENSA students away from your gutter, petty politics.

On account of this, I call on Stakeholders of CENSA, and every well wisher of the association in the State to join me in advicing all students of the association to hold firm to their believe and unalloyed support for the Caterpillar Movement. No one should yield to intimidation, your vote is your right. Then for those who have made themselves ready tools in the hands of negative users, "put your conscience first before your throat". You have the right to support any candidate but let your support not be influenced by desperate people that will lead you to destruction.

With love always, Modlin Odu.

ALHAJI ATIKU ABUBAKAR WRITES PRESIDENT BUHARI ON ELECTORAL ACT AMENDMENT.

We Need Electoral Victory to Get Nigeria Working Again Remarks by Atiku Abubakar, GCON, former Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria and Presidential  Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at   the Inauguration of his Presidential Campaign Council, at the PDP Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja.

Thursday 29 November, 2018.

Protocol

I welcome all of you to this formal inauguration of my Presidential Campaign Council. This is the team that will work with me to lead our party, the PDP, to victory in the Presidential Election scheduled for February 2019.

I congratulate all of the members of this Council and I thank you immensely for agreeing to be part of this team. You have been selected because of your  immense stature,  talent, skills, experience and contributions to the success of our party and our candidates over the years.

We have tried to put in place a campaign structure that will ensure uniformity in our operations. Of course, states can set up structures that address local peculiarities. However there will be no parallel structures so we can avoid confusion in our activities and our messaging. We must run a disciplined campaign that stays on message all the time.

We are facing an APC government that is desperate to cling to power at all costs, which means that this will be a tough Presidential election. Therefore we must run a focused campaign that takes nothing for   granted. We must maintain eternal vigilance. It is no surprise that the government is running a campaign of personal attacks and innuendo. This is because it has failed to keep its promises to the Nigerian electorate. Having little to point to as its achievements in nearly four years in office it wants to distract the attention of our people by choosing personal attacks over issues.

A government that has been in power for nearly its full term should be campaigning on its achievements, its record, rather than personal attacks and fresh promises it obviously will not keep.

I made clear from the beginning of this journey that my campaign will be focused on issues rather than personal attacks. Therefore I enjoin you to ensure that our campaign is issue-based. Nigerians know that the APC government has failed woefully. We have to continue to remind our people of that and also tell them what we will do differently to get Nigeria working again.

I call on the leadership of our party, the PDP, to ensure that enlightened and well-trained menand women are hired as our agents at the polling stations and collation centres.  It should also ensure the establishment of a functional and effective Situation Room to monitor the campaigns and the electoral process itself until the last vote is counted and the results announced. It should also address any other issues that would ensure free, fair and credible elections. As members of the Campaign Council you have the responsibility of working with the party leadership to ensure that these are implemented in a timely manner.

Ladies and gentlemen, elections are governed by laws. While it is customary to ask politicians to conduct   themselves well, good laws are required to ensure   credible elections.  Such laws constrain the behaviour of all who are involved in the electoral process, including the candidates and their supporters, security agents and the electoral umpire (in this case the INEC). Therefore, I call on President Muhammadu Buhari to sign into law, without further delay, the Electoral Act amendment which is on his desk, if he is really interested in the conduct of free, fair and credible elections.

My dear friends, we have a lot of work to do. Let’s get to work. We’ve got to get Nigeria working again.

Once more thank you for being part of this team, and I thank you all for your attention.

Reno Omokri Come Hard In President Buhari, Says He’s A Faker (Read Details)

By Eje Peter,
President Buhari paid a visit on Wednesday, 28th of November 2018, to the wounded soldiers in Maiduguri, Borno state. Reno Omokri has however taken to social media to compare President Buhari’s visit to that of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan’s visit to wounded soldiers during his regime.

He shared pictures from both events as he revealed that one can fake a visit but can never fake compassion.

He wrote:

The difference between a ruler and a leader. @MBubari went to Maiduguri to see our troops in hospital and waved to them like a star.

@GEJonathan did the same 4 years ago and he touched the soldiers and felt their pain. You can fake a visit. You can’t fake compassion #RenosDarts

Jarigbe: A Lawmaker and his moment of glory.

#Team Jarigbe

November 27, 2018

He means different things to different people. To some, he is a workaholic. To others, he is the MP of the masses, a deeply passionate leader through whose arteries, the overall best interest of the people, flows just like blood.

Yet to some others, he is a purpose-driven, prudent manager of human and material resources committed to permanently changing the look and feel of Yala/Ogoja through his legislative mission.

But from whichever perspective he is viewed, one thing is however constant and that is the fact that Hon.Jarigbe Agom, the lawmaker representing the good people of Yala Ogoja Federal Constituency is one man who constantly shy away from accolades, awards and recognitions in spite of the fact that his achievements in office in the last three  years, easily recommend him for many of such.

“For me, awards and recognitions are best when they come after we must have left office and people access our efforts and achievements in office,” Jarigbe would say each time the subject matter is broached.

However, in spite of his near aversion for awards and recognitions, Hon.Jarigbe Agom, like a golden fish that his sterling performance in office has made him, has no hiding place. He is constantly, literally chased around with awards, accolades and recognitions for the unparallel record of achievement that he has garnered since he assumed office as the duly elected lawmaker  of Yala/Ogoja Federal Constituency  on May 29, 2015.

In a society where many are known to pay and literally solicit awards, Jarigbe has turned down several. It therefore came as a pleasant surprise when some of us, his aides were able to convince him to be physically present to receive the Niger  Delta youths lawmaker of the Year Award which he won in the Lawmaker of the Year category .

Beyond that however, it was also a well-deserved honour for a man who has done more than anyone before him to permanently change the fortunes of Yala/Ogoja and its people for good.

In achieving this feat, Jarigbe was deliberate and calculated. Indeed, Yala/Ogoja people are lucky to have had in him a leader whose emergence was not in any way accidental.

By 2015, the popular will of Yala Ogoja people was finally affirmed and  Hon.Jarigbe Agom was sworn into office as the servant leader of Yala/Ogoja Federal Constituency.

The first indication that he was prepared for the job showed in his numerous cardinal programmes he immediately rolled out as the focus of his administration. The programme was led by education. One was therefore not surprised when his administration quickly proceeded to press for the establishment of Ogoja Federal University  and ensure that no child is left behind on account of his/her economic background through his scholarship programs.

Every year Hon.Jarigbe offset tuition fees and all forms of levies of thousands of his constituents . In addition, the distribution of free textbooks to pupils of public primary and secondary schools by Hon.Jarigbe Agom administration also helped to ensure that education remains accessible for all.

Hon.Jarigbe did not only offset tuition fees of students, he also went further to consistently pay the (WAEC) fees for final-year students of public secondary schools in the Constituency since its inauguration in May, 2015.

All of these have been made possible partly because the Hon.Jarigbe is committed to changing the narratives of lawmaking.

It therefore did not come as a surprise that the leadership of Hon.Jarigbe Agom won the Youths Educational Foundation award, as the Lawmaker with the highest percentage of budgetary Constituency allowance to education.

These are however some of the  areas where the visionary in Hon.Jarigbe Agom easily shines through. As soon as he assumed office in 2015, he made these list critical component of his  programme in Yala/Ogoja Federal Constituency.

1. Electrification of Idum, Adum & Igbo in Wanihem ward. Yala LGA (Rural Electrification Agency)

A vote for him in 2019 General Elections will make him a ranking member of the Federal House Of Representatives and multiple achievements for the good people of Ogoja/Yala.

Now tell me, with all of these achievements, why wouldn’t Honourable Jarigbe be literally chased around with awards, accolades  and commendations?

BREAKING: Again, FG Fails To Reach Agreement With ASUU

BREAKING: Again, FG Fails To Reach Agreement With ASUU

By Eje Peter ,
The Federal Government has again failed to reach an agreement with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) over its ongoing nationwide strike.

This comes as the meeting between the government and union held on Monday behind closed doors at the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja ended without a resolution.

National President of ASUU, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, briefed reporters at the end of the meeting which lasted over three hours and presided over by the Minister of Education, Mr Adamu Adamu.

He said the meeting to resolve the over three weeks industrial action would continue at a later date.

Meanwhile, the House of Representatives said it was worried about the ongoing strike which has grounded activities in most universities across the country.

Chairman of the House Committee on Tertiary Education, Mr Aminu Suleiman, stated this when he led members of the committee on an oversight visit to the Ministry of Education.

He appealed to the government and ASUU to go beyond resolving the current industrial action and provide lasting solutions that would make strike in the education sector a thing of the past.

The government, in a statement from the ministry, also said it was committed to ending strikes in the sector despite the challenges of funding.

– A Total and Indefinite Strike –
ASUU commenced a total and indefinite industrial action on November 4 following a meeting of its national leadership at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, the Ondo State capital.

Professor Ogunyemi had told reporters after the meeting that they took the decision due to the poor funding of universities in the country.

A day after the union announced its decision, Professor Ogunyemi accused the government of making cheap promises, saying their members would not be swayed by such.

“We have concluded that promises from the government are very cheap. We are not bothered about what promises the government makes now,” he had said during his appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

Hours later, the government through the minister, appealed to the union to call off the ongoing strike.

Mr Adamu who addressed a news conference said, “As the Minister of Education, I feel your pain; I share your concern and I am willing to go to any mile so that together we can change the narrative of this country for the better.”

“I want to use this opportunity to appeal to ASUU to put off this strike in the name of the country, and in view of what the situation is. Come, let us continue the talk; it is something that we have already started.

“And I am optimistic that dialogue will produce better results. For us to negotiate under the pressure of strike, we will end up producing the kind of agreement we had in 2009, which almost all stakeholders have agreed is not easily implementable,” he added.

On November 15, the government met with the union but the meeting ended in a deadlock.

Jarigbe Agom: The Making Of Ogoja’s Political Leader.

November 26,2018

Team Jarigbe Agom.

It is no gainsaying that Rt. Hon.Jarigbe Agom is the dominant name in the sphere of politics in Cross river state.

In banners, posters and signposts, different faces of the Law maker straddle the township.

His acceptance as the leader of all political groups within the peoples Democratic party ( PDP )is unassailable. And many still strive to team up with him, even from outside the PDP enclave.

Daily, the quintessential politician receives droves of political faithfuls from other parties across the political divides in Cross river.

That the Law maker will be returned by the people of his constituency for another term, as their representative, is no longer the issue, as both his party and the entire populace are resolute on that; what with many benefits that have accrued to the community upon his ascending the law maker seat in the green Chamber.

The issue is maintaining our current status as a stakeholder in the affairs of our exemplary state, Cross river . This is because, for a long time, Northern senatorial district has lagged firmly behind in terms of physical and human development until the current ascendancy of Prof. Ben AYADE,Jarigbe and Dr.Rose Okoji Rose Okoji Oko

That his position has benefited us immensely is an understatement. Hardly has any other district benefitted so much from the position at any time in the history of Northern senatorial district .

The cornucopia of this position is felt by almost all inhabitants of the entire Northern senatorial district. And to add to all these is the enigmatic personality of the Lawmaker himself.

Affable, humble, attentive, focused, hardworking, intelligent, experienced, dynamic and above all, pious, Rt. Hon. Jarigbe Agom is a shining example to many aspiring youths in whatever vocation they find themselves.

Many are born into leadership, many work their ways to leadership while many grow up to attain leadership, in the case of Jarigbe. For those of us who have been with him right from the beginning of his political career, the man had been dogged in his pursuit of the apex of his career.

And it has not been easy, what with weathering of many political storms that fill the paths of Nigerian politicians who manage to clinch their choice positions.

As an astute politician, Jarigbe’s mind is recondite and impenetrable. Not given to too many words, the prayerful legislator operates with a fiery tenacity in the pursuit of his goals which he has achieved for himself and many of his followers who have benefited immensely from his political endeavours.

Initially wrongly perceived by many as arrogant, inattentive and unresponsive, many have now learned that he is actually humble, simple and easy to work with if only you recognise his forthright, truthful and upright dispositions.

He has been benevolent to many who needed assistance not only within Northern senatorial district but all over the state, but he won’t make noise about it.

These assertions are verifiable by anyone in doubt as the law maker operates an open door policy .

Another important aspect of the Jarigbe narrative is the glamour, charm, candour and prestige that his personality has attracted to the seat. By operating with panache, grace and amity among his colleagues at the house, the state governor Senator Benedict AYADE and our great leader, Dr.Rose Oko, he has been able to gain their confidence and friendship much to the chagrin of his detractors.

Without mincing words, it would be difficult for his successors to fill his shoes upon leaving office. His popularity across the entire nation is unprecedented and this should be a source of glory and pride to us back home in Northern senatorial district.

As a versatile, ebullient and proficient Law maker, Rt. Hon. Jarigbe Agom has led us to a productive Democratic representation.

Indeed, by the landmark achievements that the Law maker has recorded in his first term, we are rest assured that his second term would be more eventful and equally scandal free. This is because Jarigbe has learnt the ropes and garnered requisite experiences over the years.

It gladdens our hearts that we’re speaking with one voice again after so much rancour, resentments and bitterness elicited by selfish interest.

All along, the Law maker, as we were aware then, was all for peaceful resolution of the issues that were generated back then, but some misconstrued his intentions for attempt at domination and all hell broke loose.

Now, almost everyone is coming back to their senses: the hen is coming home to roost.

We must at this juncture commend the Rt. Honourable for taking it upon himself to settle all scores and balancing the political equations within his jurisdiction so that together, we may move forward.

We must realise the need to speak with one voice, spoken through the Law maker, whom the Almighty has ordained to represent us in the green Chamber.

We thank all those who understood our plight and listened to our wisdom and followed the moving train.

We urge the fractional minority still nursing one animosity or the other to come with us under the umbrella of Jarigbe leadership. As he himself has said, there’s enough to go round.

#Team Jarigbe Agom

STOP BEING SORRY By Prince Andrew.

The biggest enemy of progress is to keep being sorry for your mistakes instead of taking correction and moving on.

Growing up and knowing what being sorry can do and what it can't, also from reading so many stories and learning personalities profile... I must tell you to stop being sorry because you are in that situation,  and just feeling sorry for yourself won't help.

Just stop being sorry and embrace the pains, channel it for better.

Listening to my pastor saying feeling sorry for  yourself because of your background instead of letting go, get back and hit the ground for success to have a story to tell later, I decided within myself that I have to stop being  sorry and rather embrace the pains for positivity.
Political classes, and religious leaders we have today have stopped being sorry and have embrace the pains before they got  to where there are today .
LITTLE ANALYSIS,
Let me start with my pastor David Ibiyeome, one of the great man of God in the world today was nothing before he gave his life to Christ, he follows the teachings of his father and Today he is one of the lead voice in Christendom in the world.
What did he do, He stopped feeling sorry for his past and all the wasted years and followed instructions on how to lead, he embraced the pains of leading  when he had nothing, today the story is not the same.

Former Vice president of Nigeria and PDP presidential candidate Atiku Ababukar. A multi billionaire  was once a street hustler to a point where he stop being sorry for himself, then he got himself out of poverty and built a house for his mother at age 17. All these happened because he got a revelation and stopped being sorry for where he is, rather was excited about  where he would be going to. Today he is in a place where nobody feels sorry for him anymore.

What about the just dedicated 100,000 seaters Church auditorium?, the presiding pastor was not at his best from the beginning, he was a Sunday school teacher in someone else's ministry. Today he has dedicated a multi-billion church auditorium, but the ministry He was before doesn't have as much I guess, if they have we would have known.

He stopped feeling sorry for his starting point and was excited about the future today and today he is a happy man.
STOP BEING SORRY

What about our former President Goodluck. He went to school without shoes but he was sorry for himself because he had no shoes, but then he stopped and kept on...and today he is the face of modern democracy in the whole world.

OBJ, well, one of the  most relevant Nigeria politician. Go and read his story, I'm sure from his time in prison he wasn't sorry for himself rather he embraced the pain, then he became....
I could go on but I think I've made my point but for emphasis lets bring it home, our very own DG DUE PROCESS. He ran for office but something happened, he however didn't let it keep him down for too long. He bounced  back, continue life and today he is in government of the day ...

Those that feel sorry for themselves don't go far..

Is that relationship not woking hey! Don't feel sorry rather smile at it and embrace the pains, I assure you , you will get the best out of it.

Is that marriage about to end . don't feel sorry, instead do what you can but relax and be positive about it, it will play out well.

Is it about that contract not coming as planned, give it a time, go back and see how it will play out.

... that journey, proposal, keep mentioning. Don't give in, don't feel sorry about the result and  rather focus.

Consider these below to gear you up:

1. Stop being sorry,
2. Embrace the pains
3. Stop comparing
4. Get excited

Doing these, life struggles will find its way out of your system, family, company etc.

JAMB 2019: Ten Tips To Passing Outstandingly

JAMB 2019: Ten Tips To Passing Outstandingly

By Eje Peter,
Are you preparing to sit for jamb this year? Or even better are you planning on writing it for the first and the Last time, or you want this to be your last after several failed attempt. If yes then, you are at the right place as this post is designed to help you achieve your goal, which is to obtain your desired score in jamb (am guessing 400)

Over the years, many has wasted years at home after failing to secure a good score in jamb while many have settled for an institution or course which they would not have had they score (quote) sufficiently enough to secure them their course of choice. Realizing the importance of this exam has spur candidates out in search of tips to help them pass excellently. Well, the good news is, search no more as I bring you glad tidings.

Tips around to help in this pursuit, but I have shortlisted top ten that will surely help you.

1. SUFFICIENT PREPARATION IS THE KEY
If you really want to achieve that dream score, the impact of sufficient preparation cannot be over-emphasized. Preparation as it is, is having a goal and getting ready by planning, studying, and training to achieve the goal.

To get the best out of your preparation, you can adopt a method that has helped for many, have an active study routine where you schedule subjects to be treated for each study session, before the start of each session, you might find it helpful to write down what you wish to have achieve at the end of your study session and then work through your session having them at the back of your mind, but mind you though, make them realistic

2. THE POWER OF DETERMINATION
While preparation will attempt to get you ready, determination will ensure you are ready. The level of your determination will reflect on your preparation as per how much time you put into it. It can be seen as the willpower or energy that drives you, so how much of it you have will determine how far you get.

3. LEVERAGE ON RECOMMENDED TEXTS
Annually jamb update their syllabus, which has a list of all recommended textbooks and subjects. You’ll therefore do yourself a whole lot of good by endeavoring to get this texts and incorporate the subject found in jamb syllabus in your study routine.

Some of the questions are taken from these texts, so that will give you a head start in the hall having solved the questions before the exam

4. LEVERAGE ON PAST QUESTIONS
Am guessing you are not surprised seeing this. Its now a renown fact that these corporate exam bodies repeat question from previous exams, which usually covers a reasonable percentage from the overall questions.

As you prepare make sure you dedicate part of your study sessions to solving past questions. You’ll find this helpful than you might yet realize. So don’t waste your time, go to any bookshop near you and purchase one, or if you want the soft copy, you can search in Google and follow their search results

5.POLISH YOUR ICT SKILLS
Since the start of jamb full CBT exam few years back, it has become imperative that candidate, are pro-efficient in their use of computer, or at least enough to get them through. I have heard experience of candidate who entered the exam hall with no ICT training only to waste their limited time trying to find their way around the computer.

So if you don’t know how to use the computer, its time to enroll in a training of some sort to get you acquainted with it.

6. ACKNOWLEDGE YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES
This is perhaps the best advice I’ll give, understand your strength and weakness. Like someone I know would say, you only know what you know, and don’t know what you don’t know. Conduct some evaluation, know the topics you cannot readily answer questions from, topics that hearing their name alone would sent shivers down your spine, then take steps to better understand the topics, because as it stands only what you get correctly would count in the exam hall.

Therefore acknowledging your strengths and weaknesses now and dealing with it would put you on an edge in the exam.

7. SOURCE FOR HELP
The preceding tip has subtly introduced this, sometimes individual effort is not enough to get the desired result, and in positions like this you definitely need all the help you can get.

As many has, you will find the experience and knowledge of a trained tutor helpful, as you prepare for jamb 2019, so why not enroll in a reputable jamb lesson in your neighborhood or you can employ the service of a personal tutor.

8. HAVE A POSITIVE MINDSET
Maybe you’ve heard stories about people that has written jamb up to five or more times and that frightens you, you get overwhelmed and start thinking jamb is one hell of an exam, so you cant make it, don’t be afraid, many has done it and so can you. However, if you’ll make it, then you need be prepared emotionally, wear the mindset of a victor. Always assure yourself that you can do this, and most importantly, let your actions do with your preparation.

9. SET A TARGET
Do you have a target? Like a particular score you want to attain? Why is that even necessary you might ask. To better understand this, let assume someone wants to score zero, what is required of him? Nothing, just walk into the hall with zero preparation and walk out, but what if the person wanted to score 300+ then that calls for a lot of work on his part, he obviously has tons of preparation to do.

It can said therefore that the target you set would predict the accompany preparation. So I’ll advice you to set a reasonable target for yourself and make that your goal, while you put in sufficient work to achieve it.

10. PUT GOD FIRST
Now on a final note, just as this is true for everything else, putting God first in all we do is very important, don’t cut him out of this endeavor, have his support and guidance and watch jamb 2019 be a success.

At this very point, I wish all prospective candidates good luck in this forthcoming jamb

Association of Imams, Scholars in Cross River disowns Alhaji Adamu Yakubu's statement on Ayade

Leaders and members of the entire Muslim community in Cross River State, disassociated themselves from the self-seeking position of one Alhaji Adamu Yakubu as regards the 2019 governorship elections in the state.

In a press release/rejoinder signed by the Secretary of the Association of Imams and Scholars,  Cross River State, Ustaz  Abdulahmed  Zikrullah, dated Monday, November 19, 2018, the body with office at 146 Battalion Army Central Mosque,  Calabar, Cross River State, completely disassociated itself from the alleged Alhaji Yakubu's  position that the Muslim community in Cross River have chosen Senator John Owan Enoh as their governorship candidate for 2019.

"The leadership and entire Muslim community in Cross River State completely disassociate themselves from the self-seeking and self appointed one Alhaji Adamu Yakubu who parades himself as the leader of the Muslim community in Cross River State and had paid courtesy call on John Owan Eno to declare his so-called leadership support and that of the Muslim community in the state to Eno's governorship ambition.

Let it be known to the Cross River State government and the entire good citizens of Cross River State that Adamu's visit to John Owan Eno is purely self seeking and personal and does not represent the Muslim community in Cross River State.

We appreciate fully the monumental developmental efforts ongoing under the leadership of the digital governor, Senator professor Ben Ayade."

Going further to assert the position of the association and its members in an unambiguous terms,  the press release/rejoinder stated: "We equally want to categorically state our unalloyed support to governor Ayade and that he is our candidate for the 2019 gubernatorial election in order for him to complete his good works and people oriented projects across the state.

Again, Cross River State was or is not loss or in trouble to warrant rescue as claimed by Adamu and his cohorts.

Similarly, the Muslim community in Cross River State respect the zoning arrangement right from 1999 through 2015 which saw Donald Duke from the south administered the state for eight years and Liyel Imoke from the central for another eight years.
It is therefore natural and based on divine law of justice, equity and fairplay that the Northern senatorial districts should equally have it's eight years by allowing Ayade to complete his eight years as others before him."

The association went further to reemphasised its unflinching commitment and total support to the administration of senator professor Ben Ayade and his well deserved constitutional right to contest the 2819 election and complete the eight years of the northern senatorial district just as the south and the central had done between 1999-2015.

"Once again we want to restate our total support to governor Ben Ayade led administration in the state and our total commitment to work individually and Collectively for the reelection of Ayade in 2019.

His Excellency and the good people of Cross River State should therefore disregard Adamu and his cohorts claim and consider that as one of the antics of the devil to cause disaffection between the Muslim community in the state, and the government and people of Cross River State and as well distract the government to achieve a selfish motive."

The release /rejoinder from the association of Imams and Scholars,  Cross River State, concluded by maintaining thus : "#CrossRiverState MuslimCommunity Stand for AYADE,
#Ayade For 2019. #Ayade Till 2023."

END.

BREAKING NEWS!! ASUU Rejects FG Negotiation Team, Says Strike Continues (Full Story)

BREAKING NEWS!! ASUU Rejects FG Negotiation Team, Says Strike Continues (Full Story)

By Eje Peter,
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has said that the ongoing strike by the union will continue until the federal government resolve all the issues in contention.

It also said it has rejected Babalakin who led the FG negotiation team.

This stance is coming as the Union maintained that the first meeting held with the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Dr Chris Ngige has yet to go into substantive issues which led to the strike.

While speaking to newsmen after the Congress of the Union, chairman ASUU, University of Ibadan, Dr Deji Omole said ASUU members will not allow the ruling elite to destroy the heritage of the poor which is qualitative public varsity education.

According to Omole, Wale Babalakin who is the leader of Federal Government team is being rejected by the Union because he is an interested party pursuing a private university license and will do everything to jeopardize public education funding.

Omole noted that a situation whereby two members in the FG team are pursuing their private university licenses indicate they will not favour funding of public education.

The ASUU boss maintained that the three-week old ASUU strike is borne out of genuine and patriotic commitment to ensure a better future for children of the masses and that of Nigeria.

He therefore dismissed the allegation being bandied by the government that the strike was political.

“How can our strike be political when there are matters that you as government signed into and you failed to fulfill your promises? To us, it is the Federal government that is being political with the truth by becoming untrustworthy.

“How can the President and his Vice be asking Nigerian universities to become one of the leading universities of the world without making the same commitments responsive and responsible governments in the world are making to Education? Our leadership have shown consistent disrespect for agreements and this is why they can no longer be trusted by our Union.”

ASUU had declared total, indefinite and comprehensive strike over failure of the Buhari-led federal government to fulfill the content of the Memorandum of Action it signed with the Union in 2017 bothering on revitalisation and funding of universities, unpaid accumulated earned academic allowances, release of University staff pension company license among other issues.

Yala /Ogoja 2019: PDP Youths Pledge To Work For Jarigbe Agom’s Victory and other PDP candidates.

November 13, 2018.

Youth leaders across Yala /Ogoja federal constituency have pledged to support the re-election aspiration of Hon.Jarigbe Agom and other PDP candidates.

Speaking on behalf of the youth groups, Chief Mrs.Angela Ogeyi Odey stated that they have resolved to back Jarigbe to win the election next year.

Madam Angela described Jarigbe as a heavyweight politician whose aspiration is causing the All Progressives Congress (APC) sleepless nights.

“Only a man of verifiable performance and integrity like Hon.Jarigbe can be guaranteed of our support .

This has posed a big threat to other-candidates who see his return to the green chamber as a set back to their ambitions.

But to us , Hon.Jarigbe is a valuable asset that we can not afford to play with. As it is now, PDP cannot afford to risk any position in the 2019 election.

“What we need now is a much experienced legislator who is loaded with new ideas and innovative concepts and Hon.Jarigbe is the only way out in 2019 especially with his proven achievement,” she said.

The political leader noted that Jarigbe has touched every sector in the constituency particularly in education.

“He has influenced the construction of classroom blocks for schools, many communities are now enjoying electricity through his intervention and provision of transformers, many communities now enjoy road projects, skill acquisition through SDG has been influenced for constituents amongst others,” he added.

Chief Mrs.Angela Ogeyi Odey said,Jarigbe has institutionalised good legislative representation and therefore should be appreciated with another four years to enable him continue and complete all his on-going legislative impact on Yala/Ogoja.

“We the youth have studied the political situation in Cross river and noted that there is a need for Jarigbe to continue the good work he is doing for his people.

Though we are aware of some sycophants who are silently working against his re-election, we know it is out of fear of the weight of the ‘Big political personality’.

They are no match with Jarigbe. Lots of them have been trusted in different capacities and we have know their strength and limitations. We have nothing against anybody’s aspiration, but PDP will not toy with such a sensitive seat as the lawmaker of our constituency.

“As at today,Jarigbe has the highest number of Bills and motions in the history of green chamber. Presently, he sponsored two (2) out of the bills that the president have assented to and out of the bills awaiting presidential assent, he has another two.

What else do we need from a legislator?

“Jarigbe has attracted very high federal presence to Yala/Ogoja in the last 3 years and we want him to do more.”

THREE YEARS OF JARIGBE'S EXEMPLARY LEADERSHIP

November 22,2018.

By Team Jarigbe.

The rebirth of civil rule in Nigeria in 1999 was laden with various expectations from both the citizenry and the international community based on her chequered history as a country endowed with great human, material and natural resources but without commensurate developments in all ramifications of her national life.

Following the foregoing is the predominant illusionment and disenchantment by the citizenry, especially the younger generation who over the years had felt let down by successive leaders both military and civilians, hence the agitation for a paradigm shift in the governance of the region.

With the election of Hon.Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe as the lawmaker representing the good people of Yala/Ogoja in the green chamber , a renewed hope for the agitated paradigm shift was hung on the political and governmental horizon of the region.

The young Jarigbe did not only serve as a beacon of optimism and regeneration for an otherwise bleak future for the country's teeming youths, he equally opened a floodgate of fresh, dynamic and visionary ideas that have become greatly beneficial to human development and purposeful governance.
Schooled in the finest tradition of intellectualism and developmental politics, Jarigbe has for the three years in the saddle demonstrated brilliance, erudition, humanism, effectiveness, and humility.

From time Hon.Jarigbe has since deployed his exposure, wide contacts and intelligence in the discharge of his constitutional duties to the nation and its people through effective legislation and purposeful oversight functions. Not only has the Ogoja, Cross river State born Jarigbe brought honour, panache and finesse to the office of the federal house of representative, his leadership acumen has considerably made the house one organic, harmonious entity in spite of some insignificant and parochial interests and controversies sponsored by columnists.

His understanding of politics as a conflict resolution mechanism is highly commendable and responsible for the peaceful and governmental co-existence between the people and their leaders.
This attest to why stakeholders from Yala/Ogoja made it imperative to gainfully involve Jarigbe in peace talks between Crisis region of the state and other communities.

The benefits of stakeholder's action at the time were enormous in terms of economic and political benefits to the state in general. A case in point, however, was the peace agreements signed between Cross river and Ebonyi .
Also, based on his perceived brilliance and informed analysis and opinions on important issues affecting human developments and governance, Jarigbe rose above Nigeria's local politics to garnered international reputation.
By creating a platform for community base Issues, Jarigbe will always be celebrated in the annals of modern Nigeria's political history as the one who institutionalized a communication synergy between the country's political leadership, using the House as a model, and the teeming Nigerians in their constituencies , thereby giving them a sense of belonging and brotherhood.

In addition, Hon.Jarigbe also created the grassroot Change initiative and empowerment Agent Committees, among others. The benefits of these new platform created by the lawmaker have shown their timeliness in catching up with internationally-recognized best practices in governance and grass root political networking.

Jarigbe's astute leadership and incorruptible disposition engendered a radical departure from the past, especially in the ways and manners representatives communicate with their constituents. To show that it was no longer business as usual, Jarigbe whose slender frame and signature smile beguiles his disdain and intolerance for corruption and corrupt tendencies launched a scrutiny in the books of leadership with mind-boggling revelations creeping out of the Pandora box.

In his efforts at ensuring that politics engender the greatest goods for the greatest number of the citizenry and impacting positive governance to the citizenry, Hon.Jarigbe Agom ensured that constituency projects are not only increased from two/three to about fifteen. This was made possible by his struggle and insistence that constituencies' projects be tied to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and included in the budget for implementation by the MDAs.

As a man who is attuned to his people and the need to be alive to their yearnings and complaints, Jarigbe set up the Constituency Outreach Committee to ensure that representatives always return to their communities to feel the people's pulse.
While the political train of the present administration gradually grinds to a halt next year, there is no doubt that the commendable and impressive leadership style of this model of honour and success (Jarigbe) will serve as a radar for the younger generations involvement in politics and governance and the constituency will definitely be better for it.

Ayade donate 500,000 free uniforms to public schools

…mulls shoe setting up factory

Cross River State Governor, Prof. Ben Ayade has donated over 500,000 free uniforms to public schools across the state under the Ayade School Uniform Programme.
This was even as he disclosed plans by the state government to set up shoe manufacturing factory.
The governor made the presentation shortly after declaring open the 56th Annual Meeting of the Nigeria National Committee of West Africa Examinations Council held at the Transcorp Hotel, Calabar, yesterday.
According to Ayade, the gesture was in fulfillment of his earlier promise to the pupils two years ago during one of his outings with them.
In his words, “Let me announce to you that this is a product of the Cross River State garment factory. 500,000 uniforms donated for free to pupils in cross River State public schools and I have also directed that private schools should be given 10 percent of these uniforms.”
The governor who said he was focusing on primary schools pupils, hinted: “We are focusing on the young pupil and that is why I thought it wise to do this presentation today. We intend to dress them properly and let me inform you that our shoe factory is coming up soon where we also intend to produce school sandals and present same free to them to build their confidence and make them see themselves as equals to those in the private schools.”
While urging WAEC to proffer solutions to the fallen standard of education in the country, Ayade reasoned: “Society has moved so fast and education cannot catch up at the speed because of wrong educational structure and so, WAEC has to restructure it syllabus especially in line with current realities.”
The governor enjoined the examination body to realize that there is need  for a paradigm shift from the conventional question setting for knowledge testing to practical implementation of knowledge, adding that practical exposure is the key to the future Nigeria now desires.
According to the governor, “Values, ethics Kantianism, integrity, character of a man which has always been the foundation of our primary education that laid the foundation for the prosperity of a future Nigeria has changed and must be corrected and fast too.”
“I challenge this committee to restructure our curriculum to reflect the quality of our youths because if we must get it right, it must start at that level,” the governor emphasized.
Chairman, Nigeria National Council of the West Africa Examination Council, Dr. (Mrs.) Lami Amodu commended Governor Ben Ayade for the rapid developmental strides that has placed Cross River as one of the fastest industrialising states in the country, noted that the state had a long history with education and therefore, was considered very elitist in Nigeria.
While thanking the state government for the support to the examination body over the years, the WAEC boss reasoned that with the quantum of investments the state has made in educational sector so far, as well as the governor’s personal interest in the sector, Cross River State will soon be placed top on the global education map.
Her words: “Your Excellency, let me state here that your warmth and demonstrated passion to education is highly infectious. I wish to thank you for the approval you gave for the donation of two pick up vans to WAEC office,  Calabar to assist the council in serving the state better."

Be honest with yourself

Emotions have a way of clouding one’s vision of a certain situation. Now that you have feelings for your friend; you need to ask yourself genuinely what do you want.

Take a risk

If you have come to the decision that you want to have a romantic relationship with your friend then the next step is to take a risk. Two scenarios will play out:

Your friend may reject your feelings which may affect your friendship negatively overtime
Your friend may reciprocate your feelings which could strengthen your friendship.

Let go

After being honest, if you decide you can’t risk your friendship then you have to let go of your feelings. Feelings need time to heal or resolve so you have to be patient with yourself. You can’t unlike a person fast especially if the person is a close pal.

Meet other people

Try to mingle with other people and enjoy other relationship. This helps to reduce the sting especially when you have decided to let your feelings go.

Don’t stay offended
