metamorphosis of Ayade's performance and why they don't want him.

The metamorphosis of Ayade's performance and why they don't want him.

By Egbara Emmanuel Ikaba.

October 22,2018.

Ever since the attentive world rose to its feet to applaud Governor Ayade ’ s virtuoso performance in three years in office , the dogs of war seem to have been let loose and they are baying for his innocent blood for a taste through propaganda and politics of bitterness.

Ayade , his beautiful wife and members of his cabinet have become the punching bag of miscreants on social media whose mercantile instincts mark out as cannon fodder in the hands of aggrieved and out of -favour politicians and social Media bugs.

Every day , they concoct lies and tasteless falsehoods to nibble away at his soaring popularity and achievements among the long suffering people of Cross river State who are beginning to finally see that indeed , Cross river can be better through purposeful leadership.

From all indications , the mission of the people who are sponsoring the endless calumny campaign against Ayade , his wife and members of his cabinet on social media is quite simple – to distract him from actualising his dream of a new and better Cross river State and whittle down his rising profile as a promising leader of the Northern senatorial district.

They figured that with his squeaky clean business background and soar away performance in over three years in office , he would dwarf so many wanna- be leaders if no muck was cast on him sooner than later.

But what in concrete terms has Ayade done to earn their fear? Close observers of Ayade’s over three year ’ s administration can attest to the fact that for the first time in a long while,Cross river State is witnessing a structured approach to governance,a governance of a long term purpose and all inclusive approach, currently Cross river state is no longer a civil service state but a destination of industries .

Ayade ’ s philosophy of governance is inclusive and open one which attracts everybody and everything good.

Bringing his years in the commanding height of the private sector to bear on governance, Ayade had outlined his vision and mission in the government house from the outset .

Right from the election campaign days, years back I may say , Ayade had told Cross riverians that his vision was for the State to become the 1st Choice Investment Destination and a hub for industrialisation and commercial activities while his mission was to create a socially stable, business friendly environment that will attract both indigenes and foreigners to seek wealth creating opportunities in the state.

So , he knew where he was going and how to get there .
Again, it may not be certain but it would seem that Ayade is probably the first governor of Cross river State to articulate a vision and mission statement that would guide him in office .

At the moment , Ayade has done a good job of keeping his eyes on the prize of purpose . And that is why they are talking . Again, in full appreciation of the infrastructural nightmare that had bedeviled Cross river State through the years, Ayade had divined that his leadership goals had no chance in hell if he failed to tackle the infrastructural challenges in the state, are they are aware of the Calipharm, the Rice mill, the garment factory, the Cocoa processing mill, the Rice Mill, the turn around in the state health sector, the SUBEB achievements, the water board Magic, the rural road network, the Cotton farm ,The regular payment of salary,The calabar industrial Rice farm and many more, they will not tell you these because these are the sins of AYADE and his Cabinet.

The political jobbers are angry because he went after investors ,political thinkers who can make Cross river State inhabitable with world class projects that is now visible to even the blind.

And what exactly did he do ? Quite simple – he spent money on providing infrastructures for the state; something that some past leaders either kept for themselves or shared with their godfathers .

The people have seen a consummate consensus builder who truly loves his people . And that is why they are talking.

The final reason why they won ’ t stop talking of Ayade is because they had told people that Ogoja,Ikom and other towns in the state were beyond redemption; that Northern indigenes were anti -progress and had always stood in the way of plans to turn the town into a befitting and industrious city of Nigeria ’ s most attractive state. But now that four to five Indus tries, including Cocoa processing mill, the cotton mill, the Rice Mill are springing up at the same time and changing the landscape, they have come out talking , kicking and punching,if good governance is a crime,if performance is a sin all we want is AYADE.
