Cross River State Governor, Prof Ben Ayade, along with Senator representing Cross River North, Dr Rose Okoji Oko, Member representing Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, Hon Jarigbe Agom, and others are set to launch Santuscom Agro Park and Ogoja Rice tomorrow, December 23, 2018.

The 50kg bag of Ogoja rice, which is one of the numerous products for launch will sell for a subsidised cost of N15,000.

This was disclosed by the Managing Director, Santuscom Agro Hub, Ofana Paul Paul Santus, at a media briefing ahead of the launch in Abuja, while explaining essence of establishing the park.

The park is located at the Okuku, Igoli bypass in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The event will be chaired by the former military administrator of the old Rivers State and a successful businessman, Gen Anthony Ukpo (rtd). Others expected at the event include, the CEO of Loaded Global Nig Limited, Prince Akwaji Offiono (aka Akwasse), High Chief Peter Higgins, former state security adviser to Cross River State Government and APC House of Reps candidate for Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, Chief Jude Ogbeche Ngaji amongst others.

According to Paul the agro park by his company is to address youth unemployment and also to make Nigeria a leading agribusiness country in Africa through massive exportation of varieties of agricultural commodities, which he also made known that countries in West and Central Africa are demanding rice and other commodities from Nigeria, particularly from Santuscom Agro Hub.

Some of the products to be produced in the park include Ogoja, pure groundnut oil, Ogoja rice, Ogoja plantain flour, Ogoja palm oil, Ogoja tomato, Ogoja bean flour, Ogoja yam flour, and Ogoja potato.

The company is an indigenous farming, food processing and packaging firm established over two years ago and is based in Ogoja, Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State.

He said: “We have capacity due to the huge investment on ground, which we have established a massive Santuscom Agro Park with private investment, and this park will commence food processing, production, packing and marketing. We also will train young agropreneurs.

“The Governor of Cross River State, Prof Ben Ayade will commission the park on December 23, 2018, in Okuku, Yala Cross River State, along with the Senator representing Cross River North Senatorial District, Dr Rose Oko and Member representing Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, Hon Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, and other top government functionaries including investors will be there. Governor Ayade has already order 5, 000 bags of 50 kgs of Ogoja rice.

“The 50kg Ogoja rice we are launching through our partners we are subsidizing for N15, 000 per bag making affordable for Nigerians nationwide. We have chain of distributors, which we have agreed with our distributors to sell at N15, 000 per 50kg bag, N7, 500 for 25kg bag, N3, 000 for 10kg, and N2, 000 for 5kg, and we will also review the price in the future. We already have demands from other West African countries for our rice.

“Our mill is 50 metric tonnes installed capacity with private sector investment, we have not accessed any loans and grants from government, but we strongly believe that what we have on ground could attract government’s attention.

“We also have basic infrastructure on the ground with our investment, and with our collaboration to stop importation and export we can feed the whole of West Africa. This rice is locally cultivated, processed, produced and packaged”.

According to him they have a 150 hectare of rice farm running all year round with irrigation facility with enough paddy to support production, and also expressed optimism that with what they have will be able to meet up the production capacity including support of government that which will enable them to export rice to other parts of West Africa. He also added that all raw materials are sourced locally.

Meanwhile, he stated that the park after the launch will provide jobs for 5, 000 young people, where they will also be trained in their chosen area of agribusiness, which a hectare of land will be given to youths who are ready for agribusiness. He added that all investments will be insured under federal government’s agric insurance scheme.

A grass root politician,a mobilizer and the  senior special Assistant on Mobilization and enlightment,Chief Mrs.Angela Ogeyi odey has called on the people of Cross River  State to embrace the policy and spirit of continuity in the issue of governance and other political activities in the state, particularly in electing the governor of the state.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen in,Ogoja local Government, headquarters, Chief Angela said: “without embracing the policy of continuity and imbibing the spirit, the state will not achieve much in its developmental goals.”

She said, “good governance, security, infrastructural development, civil service welfare and agricultural development will not be achieved if the policy and spirit of continuity are not imbibed by the people of Cross river State.

"Governor  Benedict Ayade need to be voted into office for second tenure for the democratic dividends which his administration has achieved to be well rooted in the state, voting in a fresh candidate will draw the state backward, because most of the things he has put in structure will either be abandoned or dismantled, and such does not bring sustainable development.

"My slogan is continuity 2019, Governor Ayade has provided good governance, security, infrastructural development, ensures good civil service welfare, agricultural development, and therefore, he needs to be allowed to continue in office for the second tenure in the spirit and policy of continuity and to ensure sustainable development.

“For me there is no vacancy in the seat of the Governor of Cross river state, Ayade is a burning fire, and nobody can stop him.”

The intervention on the Akreha(River Okpōku) bridge is successfully completed and is been commended by all the road users and passersby, as the people keep pouring encomium on His Excellency Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade and his son Dr. Steve Odey for demonstrating goodwill/virtues, thereby putting the interest of the people first.

Service leadership is, first and foremost, about putting aside personal concerns to prioritize the needs of others, this has always been the believe of the Executive Chairman,  Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board(SUBEB) who also doubles as the D.G PDP. Campaign Council Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency for Hon. Jarigbe Agom.

The bridge is now safe and secure for all users who are predominantly business men and women as well as the rural dwellers who are predominantly farmers, by this kind gesture, farmers can now easily take their farm produce to the markets to improve their rural economy.

Once again we join our hearts to pray God bless and uplift Barrister Stephen Odey Ph.D for his good and well conceived sacrifices and above all the people appreciated His Excellency Governor Benedict Ayade further for the approval to construct a new Akreha bridge as a permanent solution.

Offset’s father blasts Cardi B, says she “screwed” his “whole family over”

Offset’s father went on a Facebook group to blast Cardi B for being the cause of troubles in his son’s life and in their family. He also made some revelations about the drama going on behind the scenes in their relationship.


Michael Woodward, who is Offset’s stepfather, is a member of a Facebook group for fraternity and sorority Alpha Phi Alpha and Alpha Kappa Alpha. In the group, he is believed to go by the name Tony Pla.



Over the weekend, Michael reportedly wrote a lengthy post about how Cardi B has been trouble for his son and has tried to sabotage the release of Offset’s album and cause chaos and confusion for their family.

He added that Cardi B being on the same financial level as Offset, or possibly richer than him, has been a recipe for disaster. He added that Cardi released the photo of Kulture after their breakup to take away the surprise factor because Offset was planning to unveil the baby’s face on his album.

Peter Obi Obi has been greeted with outright criticism from some Nigerians, who claimed that most of the statistical data he reeled out during the debate were not correct and overblown in most cases. Obi’s Media Adviser, Mr. Valentine Obienyem, in a statement yesterday, called on Nigerians to disregard those going about debunking, as incorrect, the data used by the former Governor of Anambra State to support his points during the 2018 Vice Presidential debate. Obienyem said that engaging in what he called “statistical fallacy” was a mark of persons without honour and insisted that Obi did not do so during the debate as, “the sources of all the facts and statistics he put forward could easily be verified.”
In the statement made available to journalists, Obienyem itemised all the points that Obi made during the debate and gave the source of Obi’s data, which he challenged those doubting their authenticity to verify. The Cross River State Director general for Price intelligence bureau,Hon.Barrister­ Alphonsus Ogar Eba has recorded another landmark achievements by restoring electricity to Imaje and Ekprinyi communities in Yala Local government Area of Cross river State after nine months of total blackout.

The gesture was part of Eba's contributions to further make lives more bearable for the people.

According to him, "the installation of the new electrical equipments would promote businesses and address some other challenges facing the people.

He also mentioned that the development would enhance socio-economy of the communities, urging them to continue their prayers and support the PDP led government.

The DG pledged that his political leadership would continue to provide all the necessary avenue for every one to participate meaningfully in the political space, and to draw more development for the people.

He, then, thanked the people of the Communities for their massive supports, also solicited for more cooperation from the people

He stated that, the well-being of the entire people is the major concern by the virtue of his position in the State.

It would be recalled that the DG donated the new electrical equipments to the people because the old one provided to them in the past was no longer working.

What the vice president to be Mr Peter Obi said at the debate was just  a fragment of what PDP through the leadership of Alhaji Atiku is set to do for Nigeria and Nigerians, he said.

“We are restructuring for better government in 2019. The present ruling Party in power has failed all of us and PDP is coming to rescue the Nigerian state.

The party in power now is a 'Failure' the rebranded PDP will rescue the country from the bondage of the APC. We remain committed to the Nigerian project,” Jarigbe said.
