Hon. Jarigbe Agom & Dr. Stephen Odey's Tag Team: Wisdom Building Her House.

"Who said it could not be done? And what great victories has he to his credit which qualify him to judge others accurately?" -Napoleon Hill.

The key success 'Word' to the tag team  of Hon. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe and Dr. Stephen Odey, is 'INITIATIVE.'

Leadership is essential for attainment of success, and initiative is the very foundation upon which this necessary quality of leadership is built. Initiative is as essential to success as the eyes to the human body.

It is therefore, that exceedingly rare quality that prompts, nay, impels a person to do that which ought to be done without being told to do it.

Albert Hubbard expressed in simple words when he said, "The world bestows its big prizes, both in money and honors, for one thing, and that is initiative."

What is initiative? Hill said, "It is doing the right thing without being told. And next to doing the right thing without being told is to do it when you are told once."

It is therefore, not surprising that Hon. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe will appoint Dr. Stephen Odey as His Campaign Director General. For the saying goes, "Men  of the same abilities, walk  together."

Dr. Stephen Odey  is an administrator per excellent, giving his great initiative impacts in turning around the State Universal Basic Education (SUBEB),  as Chairman. This  great initiative and commitment to see things done right for the good of all, took him on a 'rescue mission' to  the State Water Board as acting General Manager (GM).

Hon. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, is a first time Federal  House of Representative member representing Ogoja/ Yala federal constituency. His great antecedents has made him a household name not only in his immediate constituency but beyond.

These two men build on their initiatives and have value for the people. They give not because they have enough but because they care enough.

It is natural wisdom therefore, for anyone who thought and initiated these two to  work together, as their names are synonymous to success.

Labour Suspends Planned Nationwide Strike

Labour Suspends Planned Nationwide Strike

By Eje Peter,
NLC leadership holds a press briefing in Abuja (file)

Organised labour has suspended its planned nationwide strike.

The strike had been scheduled to commence on Tuesday to ensure that the Federal Government meets the demand of workers for a new national minimum wage.

However, the National Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, announced the suspension at the end of the meeting of the tripartite committee set up to come up with the new minimum wage late on Monday.

According to Wabba, the decision to suspend the strike was taken after agreements were reached and documents signed.

The Chairman of the tripartite committee said it would present its report to President Buhari on Tuesday.

The committee, however, failed to reach consensus over new minimum wage proposals as the Federal government insisted on N24,000 and Labour N30, 000.

Unilorin Refuses To Join ASUU Strike

Unilorin Refuses To Join ASUU Strike

By Eje Peter,
Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, the University of Ilorin chapter have refused to join the industrial action called by the national body.

A visit to the university shows some students who are on campus getting set for registration with the surroundings empty of activities.

The branch chairman of ASUU, Uthman Abdulraheem, says the institution did not join the strike as they were not officially communicated to by the union which has been happening for years.

According to Abdulraheem, the inability to resolve the alleged sacking of 41 lecturers by the university years ago was responsible for not joining the industrial action called by the national body.

HON. JARIGBE, DR.(BARR.) STEVE, WITH THE GREAT PDP CAMPAIGN COUNCIL AND THE GOOD PEOPLE OF OGOJA/YALA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY:

MOURNS THE PASSING UNTO GLORY OF OUR ICONIC LEADER, STATESMAN AND NATIONALIST- LATE HON. CHIEF JOHN ODEY(Former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria).

Williams Shakespeare in his Epic Play_Julius Cæsar (1599) Said: "When beggars die, there are no comets seen;
The heavens themselves blaze forth the death of princes.

Cowards die many times before their deaths;
The valiant never taste of death but once.
Of all the wonders that I yet have heard,
It seems to me most strange that men should fear;
Seeing that death, a necessary end,
Will come when it will come.

That we shall die we know; 'tis but the time
And drawing days out, that men stand upon."

The imprints Late Chief John Odey created and left in our hearts have become eternal and we are poised by his lecacy for the unity, love and progress of our people... We will miss your exemplary and fatherly role you lived and this too will continually be alive with us.

We pray the Almighty God to grant the immediate family and all the friends and associates the fortitude to bear this great loss, indeed this is a national loss, we all mourn this irreparable/irreplaceable loss.

REST IN PEACE OUR FIELDMASHALL.

WOMEN IN LEADERSHIP: YOUR SUCCESS IS IN YOUR ATTITUDE (DR. ROSE OKO PhD)

By prince Andrew

The magic success factor for women in leadership
We Nigerian, Youth, Adult  have this uncanny ability to hold a lot of false information  to ourselves, we see the big picture and the details simultaneously, and we want to effectively empower our teams and motivate our teams through inspiration and passion, rather than through domination and control. All of this create thriving successful that bring in generous profit. Whew! That is a lot to hold. Weldon critic we making it easier for her to do more
It’s really not so much about a gender debate of a thing  here but a reality of one  women in person of DR. MRS ROSE OKO PHD.
let me educate critic a little bit Effectiveness leadership comes from being able to access reality and use them authentically, when they are needed most.
When looking at our female leaders e.g DR. ROSE, she is  taking the lead.
Studies Have Shown That Successful Women In Leadership Find These Seven Factors For Creating Lasting Success:
Mental Attitude – Having a positive outlook, and turning your fears into your teachers, your weaknesses into your strengths.
Emotional Intelligence / Social Intelligence – Having the ability to feel your emotions and communicate them in a healthy way, when needed.
Flexibility – Having the ability to dance with the inevitable changes that business of the day and life bring, while staying connected to the vision of your goal.
Leadership Skills – Having effective tools and skills to manage things such as time, energy, money, and communication.
Perseverance – Staying the course even through hard times. Having the ability to remain committed and believe in yourself and your business of the day, regardless of the circumstances.
Relationship Building – Giving up doing it all alone. Having the ability to create alliances that will mentor, support and grow your dreams.
Taking Control of Your Life – Having the willingness to do the personal growth work. Identifying your strengths, weaknesses and being personally responsible for your life.
All  this i see in DR. ROSE OKO. Once again Weldon critics....

21-year-old boy strangles mother to death, makes love to her corpse in Edo

21-year-old boy strangles mother to death, makes love to her corpse in Edo

By Eje Peter
In a bid to get rich, a 21-year-old boy has reportedly killed his mother and had multiple sex with her corpse in Edo State.

The bizarre incident occurred in their rented apartment at 8B Market road, Ologbo in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State on Monday, October 29, this year.

The suspect, Samuel Emobor Oghenekporboro, allegedly strangled his 58-year-old mother, Mrs Christiana Ighoyivwi, and had sex with her lifeless body with the expectation that money would gush out in the process.

The victim’s mother, Mrs Maria Gabriel, reportedly discovered the ugly incident when she went to her daughter’s residence about 6 a.m. to invite her to a nearby church for morning prayer, Sun reports.

The old woman was said to have knocked repeatedly on her daughter’s door without getting any response.

This prompted her to peep through an opening in the window when she saw the lifeless body of her daughter and raised the alarm.

Consequently, the son, Samuel, was said to have swiftly opened the door and attempted to escape but was held by neighbours who handed him over to the police at Ologbo.

Police investigators recovered semen-stained pants belonging to the suspect and his late mother from the room as exhibits.

Confirming the incident, spokesman for the Edo State Police Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), said investigation was ongoing, adding that the suspect would be arraigned soon.

Cross River Garment Factory Unveils New Range Of Wears

In line with its cardinal vision to produce clothing that can compete with the best designs in the world, the Cross River State government owned garment factory in partnership with Blue Ocean of India, recently unveiled a new range of wears which included T-shirts, boxers, polo, shirts and trousers.

Speaking while inspecting the products at the Calabar Garment Factory, the governor, Prof Ben Ayade said he was proud of the quality of the wears from the factory, which he said will be launched during the 2018 Calabar Carnival.
While disclosing that the wears from the factory will go by the brand name, Callyphina, Ayade said it was the dream of his administration that the factory will dominate the T-shirt market in the country.

Displaying the products to journalists, the elated governor remarked: "If you look at the finishing and the detailed lining, you will see precision and expertise at work and if you look at the hemming and the final knitting, it just could be a Versace or Gucci or Dolce and Gabbana," pointing out that "it is exactly the quality we aim to achieve and our hope is to exceed this."

He said the quality of finishing stood at 70 percent, but assured of more work to be done to get the factory to produce quality for export, maintaining that, "by the time Blue Ocean is ready and we are ready for the export, our quality and brand will be among the best in the entire world."

Lending his voice to the vision of the garment factory to produce high quality wears for international market, Managing Consultant, Blue Ocean of India, Atul Kakkar, explained that the job specification handled in his two weeks of stay in Calabar was in line with the governor's vision to create a world class Garment Factory.

Kakkar disclosed that "the samples you are seeing are made by our people here in Calabar, so I am proud to say nothing was done by the Indian team, we were just giving directions. Our people are totally capable and I think they can compete in the fashion industry."

On when the products will hit the market, the consultant disclosed that the wears will soon be produced in commercial quantity, especially as this year's biggest street party, Carnival Calabar approaches.

He further added: "We have started approaching government departments, private sector and corporate bodies and they have signified interest to give us their orders. I assure you that this factory has the capacity and capability to become a world class in a year's time."

Cross Riverians building confidence in Governor Ayade amidst Criticism.

Governor Ayade in a function earlier in His administration did asked Cross Riverians not to trust him but rather believe in Him for He will earn their trust.

True to that request, the people never trusted Him as criticism, doubts, and all sorts of propaganda followed every of his great idea and dream for the state.

It is said that  a man may become a walking encyclopedia of knowledge without possessing any power of value. This knowledge becomes power only to the extent that it is organized, classified and put into action.

Governor Ayade was truly a walking encyclopedia of growth and developmental knowledge that needed to be organised, classified and put into action. At the onset, every wise man know that  translating ideas, into actions,  creates a new era and world which ushers in  changes that will meet with some resistance, given the human fearful nature.

To Ayade, these criticisms became inspirational tonic as He never was satisfied with just one success. At some point he kept the people more  confused with the Names and descriptions of His  industrialization projects. Even His Budget were not left out in the styles of names, "The Budget of Infinite Transposition etc."

I call it "Governance with dynamism, participationalism, inclusionalism and involvement."

With all  the attacks, He  held on strong to the principle that states, "Criticism would do you no damage or defeat your purpose once you know what you want." Ayade had a definite aim to transform the  state  Economically rather than repositioning her politically.

He knew first hand that the Superhighway, Deep Sea Port, Garment Factory, Calapharm, Rice City, Rice Mill, Cocoa processing factory etc. Are all what the people  want. But who has the ideas and will to translate same into action was the  picture Ayade stood for and painted of himself before the people.

Yet, He told them not to trust him but rather believe in Him for He will earn their trust as a natural principle.

Today, true to His desires and deep convictions and trust in himself and all He has in place for the people, Governor Ayade is earning the trust of the people as most of His ideas are translating into economic viable and sustainable ventures.

ATIKU SET TO ARRIVE NIGERIA WITH THE GREATEST PRESIDENTIAL BLUEPRINT.

Atiku Set To Arrive Nigeria With The Greatest Presidential Blueprint Of All Time, Plans A Complete Take Over Campaign

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, plans to adopt an “aggressive” Ward-to-Ward Campaign against the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2019 elections, it was learnt, on Wednesday night.

The PDP agreed that taking the battle to the grassroots, is the “best political weapon to defeat the APC” in the presidential campaign that begins on November 18.

Also, there are strong indications that Atiku and his team have finalised the list of members of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council.

Atiku, who is expected back from Dubai, at the weekend, is likely to release the list immediately after his return.

He has been meeting with his running mate, Peter Obi; the PDP National Chairman, Uche Secondus; Director-General/Chairman of the Presidential Campaign Council, Bukola Saraki; former Director-General of the Atiku Campaign Organisation, Gbenga Daniel; and some Zonal Coordinators.

It was learnt that the meetings centred only on the strategy to defeat President Muhammadu Buhari, in 2019.

A source, who spoke in confidence said: “The essence of the Dubai meeting is how to take the battle to APC’s doorsteps, and win the 2019 poll.

“One of the options agreed upon is the aggressive campaign from Ward to Ward, to carry the masses along. They chose this option, because Buhari has ‘mob’ appeal at the grassroots, especially in the North.

“So, this Ward-to-Ward PDP Campaign, will involve all members of the party, instead of recourse to jamboree. The battle will be fought in the print media, television and radio stations, and on the internet, based on facts and figures.”

The source added: “In the next few days, the PDP Candidate or the party, will unveil members of the Presidential Campaign Council. The list has been finalised.

“Barring any last minute change of mind, Atiku is expected back, this weekend. The PDP will soon release the #LetsGetNigeriaWorkingAgain document, which will be a bombshell. All the members of the Strategy Team have been working round the clock, to come up with a blueprint which is different from what APC has offered in the last three and half years.”

Elsewhere, a source in the APC said: “Whether the PDP Candidate and Chieftains have gone to Dubai, is not an issue. What we want to do is to give feedback to Nigerians on the mandate given to us, three years ago.

“We need to go back to the electorates for the renewal of the mandate. So, we are not really contesting with PDP; we have business with Nigerians.”
