Kevin Hart steps down as 2019 Oscar’s host, gives reason

Popular Comedian, Kevin Hart has stepped down as host of the 2019 Oscars.

This is coming two days after he announced he was hosting the 2019 Academy Awards on his Instagran page.

On why he stepped down, Hart claimed he was pressured by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to apologize for past homophobic comments.

On his Twitter page, he wrote: “I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s. This is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists.

“I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past. I’m sorry that I hurt people. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.”

After Hart was announced as the host for the Oscars, multiple celebrities and other critics noted some of his past, including tweets, such as, “Yo if my son comes home and tries to play with my daughters doll house I’m going to break it over his head and say in my voice ‘stop that’s gay.’”

It was a moment of surprise and joy where One of Nigerian finest Gospel Minister (Adonai crooner) Samworship got the centre stage as he proposed to this pretty damsel Oma during a church service taking the audience on a surprise. Notable present at the occasion among congregation were Apostle Tsax and Pst. Shedrack at Glorious House worship centre kabala west kaduna state, The eagles voice blog gathered.

Samworship is a Gospel minister, with origin from Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel international. He hails from Ogoja Local Government Area of Cross River State. Samworship has touched and converted several souls to God via his Music.

According to God he who finds a wife find a good thing and obtaineth favour from the Lord Prov 18:22. Sam worship has found and we join the host of others to wish him a happy days ahead.

2018 would be my best year, Ras Kimono says before death

A few days ago, the cold hands of death snatched one of Nigeria’s legendary reggae singers, Ras Kimono, to the shock of Nigerians. It was reported that the late musician died after a brief illness.

In the last chat he had with Saturday Beats few weeks to his death, the reggae star had high hopes for this year unknown to him that God had other plans for him.

“This year has been a very wonderful year for me and I know it would be a lovely year for me. Last year was a bit tough but this year would be the best year I have ever had. Last year, I released two songs, ‘Senseless Killing’ and ‘Blessed Africa’ but if you do not shoot a video, people would not know that you have new music on the airwaves. I plan to shoot the video. People also believe that compact disc does not sell again but I am from the old school and I believe that it would sell. My major concern for the music industry is still what I have been shouting about for a long while and it is the condition of artistes in this country. The government is not giving us our due recognition.”

Speaking about the reason reggae music is not what it used to be in the 90s, the late reggae maestro explained that youths prefer to sing about the ills in the society in order to make money. “Reggae music is too hot for the youths to handle because we speak the truth and we speak about the ills in the society. The youths are afraid to sing about the truth because the government would make sure that the song is banned, the police would hunt the person and politicians would shun them. Everybody wants to live in highbrow areas like Lekki and Banana Island and if you speak the truth, you would not live in mansions because you would not have enough money to live there. So, you have to sing about bum bum, gangsterism, sex and all the negativity in the society. That is why people feel reggae is not making an impact; reggae deals with truth and the rights of the people. I always tell people I am the last man standing. I can face any government and say whatever I have to say because I do not fear anyone except God. Besides, most people who are ruling today are my age mates. That was why Fela could abuse Obasanjo, Buhari and the like. Apart from Buhari, I am either the same age or older than the other politicians, so when they do evil, I can speak about it and tongue lash them very well. They cannot kill me. I do not regret sticking to reggae music,” he said.

Breaking news: Diamond Platnumz arrested for sharing indecent content on social media

Popular Musicians Nasib Abdul alias Diamond Platinumz is under police custody for posting indecent video clips on social media, the Parliament heard.
Minister of Information, Arts culture and Sports Dr Harrison Mwakyembe revealed this on Tuesday April 17.
Dr Mwakyembe also instructed the authorities to arrest a female Musician, Nandi after posting indecent videos on social media last week.
He was responding to a supplementary question from Ulanga Member of Parliament, Goodluck Mlinga, who sought to know, what the government was doing against people, who are misusing social media platforms.
“We haven’t remain idle as you remember we passed Electronic and Postal Communication Act (EPOCA) regulations recently and for your information we have arrested a popular musician, Diamond, for posting indecent content on social media,” he told the Parliament.
