Yesterday, news broke out that the Federal Government have banned one of the biggest Privately owned television station in Nigeria African Independent Television AIT, from covering anything that concerns the President and the Chief Of Staff of Nigeria, President Mohammed Buhari. Contrary to many peoples expectations, many Nigerians seem to be very happy and excited about the news.
A tweeter user:
"May not be right but AIT has not been fair to this govt. They have carried more fake than true stories about the govt. Your team and station has been opposition and opposition mouth piece"
@NosaOmede:
"Any media that chooses not to abide by their professional ethics but rather promote ethnicity, regionalism, religiousity, diviciveness, party politics and hate deserve to be banned"
@OnyebuchiChigbu:
"Superb decision!!! The station has lost everything that stood it out as a professional media outfit. They can cover @atiku and his hordes of scavengers."
@Olushollex1277
"So???.. Is it now that @NigeriaGov or @NGRPresident should ban them?, when they should av been banned from covering Aso Rock's affairs before this time?..They are known for their biased broadcast & lack of professionalism. Mitscheew. @channelstv is NEXT!"
