FFS: Jarigbe Appeals for firetrucks for Ogoja fire department.

The member representing Ogoja/Yala federal constituency Rt. Hon Jarigbe Agom, in a close door meeting with the Zonal commander, Zone E, of the federal fire service, made a passionate appeal  that firetrucks be made available to the fire department, Ogoja.

 Recall that within the space of 3 weeks, 2 fire outbreaks occur in Ogoja, destroying properties worth millions of Naira. This ugly incident left many wondering if the Fire department in Ogoja is not longer functional. According to inspectors' report, the fire department in Ogoja that covers almost the 5 LGAs of the northern Cross River State lacks operational facilities including fire trucks, to discharge their duties effectively and promptly.

The appeal from Hon. Jarigbe is a timely one as if met will help forestall future occurrences of fire outbreaks within the region.

We join Hon Jarigbe in appealing that firetruck and other necessary facilities be made available to the fire department, Ogoja for easy and effective discharge of their duties.
