C'River Council poll brouhaha: Sunny Omagu dumps PDP after centuries of loyalty

One of the Chairmanship aspirants in Yala Local Government Area, Cross River State, Ambassador Sunny Omagu has taken to his Facebook account to declare his resignation from the people's Democratic Party PDP, the party he has faithfully paid loyalty to for years.

Amb. Omagu's decision to quit the biggest party in West Africa isn't far from the uproar that emanated from the consensus decision of the party's Chairmanship and councillorship flag bearers across the 18 LGAs in the state.

In earlier Lamentations, Omagu and other aspirants and their supporters has been complaining bitterly against the party's  choice of flag bearers specifically in Yala LGA. According to them, level playing ground was not given to all.

Omagu posted his resignation notice on Facebook and informed his supporters and friends that despite party affiliation they could still bond.

See Omagu's notice below..

"NOTICE:
WHY I CAN NO LONGER BE A MEMBER OF PDP;
A political party is a place to process and prepare "all" aspirants towards a clear primary election for the general election, to win and represent the general public.
But it is not so in cross river state PDP. Never a free and fair primary election process.

You "must" be known, connected or related to the incumbent governor(except gov Duke) before you can run elective positions under PDP in cross river state. This is discrimination within the party.
It is a party where political wrong decision is never considered as wrong due to loyalty.

I on this 18th day of February 2020 remain A NON PDP MEMBER.
To all those that believe in me, let us continue to believe in ourselves irrespective of our party affiliation.
Let's believe in one another than party.
Thanks and may God bless us all".
