The wife of the Cross River State Governor Dr Linda Ayade marked her 2019 birthday on 31st December 2019 with the vulnerable, aged, and less privilege at the Pope John Paul II Good Samaritan Home for the poor and needy, Calabar. What was organized by a well known support group called Team Linda, a support group of Her Excellency and hundreds of others came out massively on December 23rd to honor/felicitate with the Governors wife on her birthday.
Expressing satisfaction, Dr Linda Ayade applauded the "Team Linda" and all the beautiful women of Cross River State for their massive show of support as she insisted that love and care for the poor and needy is universal and only but a few truly cares for others probably for what they stand to gain and others care truly from their hearts of heart. She promised them love, compassion, security and care on a regular basis. She noted that getting old is indeed natural and a rare privilege. Her words; "We all will get old some day as its a natural phenomenon. It is a rare privilege so for every single opportunity we have, we must reach out to people of this category with love, care, affection and in all sincerity in no small measure".
She splashed gifts items ranging from wrappers, food items, a brand new Toyota Accent car to ease mobility, etc and went ahead to carry out a free medical health outreach, health education, free eye check up with corrective glasses and other health related activities. Amongst those who were with her was the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs Esu, new Commissioner for Health, Hon Dr Betta Edu who after thanking God for adding a year to Her Excellency went ahead to appreciate Dr Linda for her humble, charitable and philanthropy nature as she couldn't help but liken her to the iconic and legendary Lady Theresa the mother of all.
Dr Linda further thanked the leadership of the Pope John Paul II Good Samaritan Home for doing a good job as she went further to felicitate with the vulnerable and the aged by letting them know how much they mean to her and how she'll continue to do everything within her reach to always give them the life which they've always prayed for. She reassured them of regular support, benevolence, love and care letting them know that being old is indeed a rare privilege and as such must be celebrated.
The event which started with a thanksgiving mass at the Home chapel as she returned smiles of hope and joy back to the old, feeble and in most cases the abandoned. It was graced by the Wife of the deputy Governor H.E Mrs Ivara Esu, wife of speaker Mrs Imabong Eteng , wife of the party Chairman, Females in EXCO and Wives of EXCO members CROWEI etc
