Cross River State Governor Professor Ben Ayade, Wednesday expressed his administration's unwavering commitment to the provision of social Housing scheme for the people of the state.
Ayade made this assertion during a meeting with a delegation from a Chinese construction firm, Ansteel Group Corporations, Ltd at the Governor's Conference Hall, Governor's office, Calabar.
The Governor who said the decision to embark on mass affordable housing for the middle and low class Citizens in the state was part of his campaign promise made to the people of Cross River State,assuring that quality but affordable housing will be built across the three Senatorial districts.
He commended the Chinese investors for choosing Cross River to invest in housing projects,saying that any investment in Cross River is safe, saying that both parties will benefit from.
Ayade urged the firm to ensure that the proposed housing units conform with the African housing model, putting the people's socio- cultural setting of an Africa society in mind.
The houses are to come in three categories: two, three and four bedroom bungalows.
"Cross River prides herself as the safest state in Nigeria and particularly in the Niger Delta Region and our green and clean environment speaks volumes of what we stand for.
"The housing project you are bringing to the state is part of our promise made to the people. This will be given full political will,” Ayade assures.
Speaking earlier, the Managing Director of Ansteep Construction Group, Mr Yas Jingfeng, said the officials were in the state to present a proposal for the construction of affordable 1500 Housing units for the people of Cross River.
He said the company settled for Cross River State given the conducive environment and the policy of the Government on housing projects.
