Cross River State Governor, Senator (Prof) Ben Ayade has assured Health Partners and relevant Stakeholders that Cross River State is floating an industrial revolution in area of agriculture which is agro economy the fastest growing economy in the world as a tool to eradicate poverty which is one of the strongest factor to fight against HIV and AIDS endemic in our communities.
He said this through his Chief of Staff, Hon Martins Orim at the 2019 World HIV & AIDS Day Road Walk and Sensitization in Calabar. According to him, Cross River State Government will continue to give support to eradication of HIV and AIDS from our society and create a more healthy living among the people living in the communities.
Ayade went further to state that in 2020 budget there is a provision to ensure completion of the three referral hospitals in the three senatorial district of the State to tackle health issues which the State Executive Council on Friday approved the award of contracts to General Electric.
Speaking earlier, Michel Puchercos the Group Managing Director/CEO of Lafarge Africa said HIV and AIDS scourge had become a threat to human existence thus in Lafarge, Health and Safety remain a top priority among the company values and as such have formulated work place policy on addressing HIV and AIDS discrimination, stigmatization, prevention, sensitization and treatment to our communities.
Lafarge Africa PLC in the past years have continued to play a key role in eradicating HIV and AIDS from Cross River State by partnering with the state, the Office of the Wife of Governor, and her NGO, Mediatrix Development Foundation.
