There were chaotic traffic scenes yesterday at the Etta Agbor/Mary Slessor roads intersection leading to the University of Calabar.
Motorists going in and out of the University through the Main Gate and others passing along that axis to other destinations were held up for hours due to the heavy traffic caused by the ongoing reconstruction of Ayandele Boulevard, the main trunk A highway that leads to the UniCal.
It would be recalled that the Vice Chancellor,Prof Zana Akpagu had earlier approved the rehabilitation of existing roads and opening up new roads to ease access in and out of the University.
Capturing the tireless efforts of the VC, Fearless reporters took account of 'Operation Zero Porthole' being embarked on roads in the campus.
Akpagu who has carved a niche for himself in terms of massive infrastructural development amongst others in the University has vowed that Unical roads will be as smooth as anything before the end of the month.
Commuters who are going through the pains of vehicular traffic however applauded professor Zana for showing clear stewardship as its administrator.
