CRUTECH Alumni 2019 Presidential Election: Whom The Cap Fits.

As the race for the soul of the National President of CRUTECH Alumni Association gets tougher as the Association braces up for her 2019 national elections, a lot of permutations have been going on among members as to who may emerge as the next President of the association come December 7th, 2019.

While most members believe that the current president failed to deliver on the expectations of members, especially with respect to adherence to the constitution, hence does not deserve a second term, others have expressed concern over the degree of commitment of other presidential candidates to their manifestoes.


However, one presidential candidate  whom many have tipped as a possible winner in the next election going by the contents of his blueprint is Comrade Bartholomew Edom (Aka Bardom).

Mr. Edom also hails from
Katchuan Irruan, under the present Boki Local Government Area of Cross River State. He graduated    from the department of Accounting in 2006 and today has assumed the height of his profession as the Deputy Manager in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) .

Over the years Mr. Edom has received professional trainings in various subject areas such as accounting, audit, finance, budgeting, strategic management, etc, which have sharpened his professional, leadership, and administrative skills and competences making him a round peck in a round hole and strategically positioned to pilot the affairs of CRUTECH Alumni Association as National President.

While he was in the University, Bardom held a number of positions including Councillor, Justice wing, hall 2, secretary hall 2 constitution drafting committee,  Secretary General, National Association of Boki Students (NABS), President, ERA Clique Club and Financial Secretary , Nigerian Universities  Accountancy Students Association  (NUASA).

His reputable personality, wealth of experience, demonstrated integrity and professional standing among others put him in an indisputable position carry out his responsibilities effectively and efficiently if voted in as the president on the 7th of December 2019.

 It was gathered that the venue of the elections is tentatively fixed for Ugep by the National Executive Council (NEC)  of CRUTECH Alumni Association, but constitutionally subject to consultation with the Central Working Committee  (CWC), which is the highest decision making organ of the Alumni Association, comprising the NEC, BOT and Chapters Chairmen and Secretaries.   However, at the time of this report, the NEC is said not to have officially consulted with  the CWC in selecting the  proposed venue. This is said to be contrary to the advise given by the Alumni Stakeholders for the NEC to comply with relevant sections of the constitution in fixing a venue for the National Convention during one of its meetings held on Saturday August 31st, 2019 at Schollet Hotel, Calabar.  Sources closed to the CWC revealed that until this constitutional requirement is fulfilled in line with article four section 50e (ii) of the CRUTECH Alumni constitution, Ugep venue will remain a mere proposal.

While waiting for the NEC to consult the CWC in determining the venue for the 2019 CRUTECH Alumni Elections, I wish to call on well meaning members of the Association to support a man with credibility,  integrity and impeccable character. 

A vote for Bardom is a vote for:

*Operationalization of the Rule of Law and more.
