In a bid to encourage sporting activities in schools, the Cross River State Universal Basic Education Board (CR-SUBEB) is set to distribute nine hundred and ninety five sports equipment to primary schools in the state.
The sporting equipment which include; soccer goal post and net , soccer boots, basket balls and nets, athletic batons, hand ball goal post , discuss missai, and shot put missai were purchased under the 2018 UBE intervention fund.
The Executive Chairman SUBEB, Dr Stephen Odey, stated that it was important for pupils to engage in extracurricular activities such as sports in other to ensure all round development.
He commended the state government and UBEC for their support towards developing basic education in Cross River State and strengthening sporting activities at the basic education level.
