Cross River State leadership of Rice Farmer's Association of Nigeria,(RIFAN) has lauded Prof Ben Ayade agricultural revolution with great effort at rice cocoa and other agro allies initiative.
The association's commendation came on the hills of a special project management committee meeting made up of state exco of RIFAN and 18 chairmen and secretary of the local govt council during their strategic planning for the 2019 planting season, in calabar.
The association believed that through his pivotal role in digital agricultural farming the state is now the prefer destination for seedling cultivation with other accruing benefits and giving the state rice farmers great opportunity to improve their yield and income.
Speaking the Vice President Rice farmers association of Nigeria south south, Mr Emmanual Anoh, explained that the meeting was designed to strengthen and enthrone effective coordination of rice farmers to do the needful by producing enough rice paddy to feed the ogoja rice mill.
The meeting attended by stakeholders including CBN, ministry of agriculture, agric insurance firms, Bank of agric and other partners discuss a number of issues and how to recover the 2018 agric loan to farmers by way of input as well as their welfare.
To ensure an efficient, successful 2019 planting season, the association therefore has established a strategy evaluation and monetary committee, that would ensure the success of the RIFAN programme in the state amongst others.
The head of development finance officer central Bank of Nigeria, calabar branch, Dr Aniefiok Akpan expressed delight at the meeting which seeks to prepare them and strategies on how to ensure efficient loan recovering of 2018 as well as how guarantee effective input distribution for 2019 farming season.
