Is Wilfried Zaha on his way to Chelsea?

That’s the view of football comedian and pundit Kevin Hunter Day.
Crystal Palace have been battling to keep hold of talisman Zaha all summer by setting his price tag at £80m.
Arsenal were put off by the fee and tabled a bid of £40m earlier this month which was swiftly rejected.

Last week, reports suggested Chelsea had entered the race to sign the Ivorian attacker despite being under a transfer ban - the Blues can still sign players to play for the 2020/21 season.

That deal could make sense for Palace if it means they can keep hold of the 26-year-old for another season.
And Day, who is an avid Palace fan, feels Michy Batshuayi could also be involved in a swap deal after the Belgian spent the latter half of last season on loan with the Eagles.
“I think they’ll be some kind of deal backstage with Chelsea that he’ll go there and he’ll be their next season,” Day said on talkSPORT.
“Possibly Batshuayi will be involved at some stage either this season or next.”

Arsenal were left frustrated in their attempts to lure Zaha away and instead turned their attention to Lille’s Nicolas Pepe.

The 24-year-old, a team-mate of Zaha’s at this month’s Africa Cup of Nations, is set to join the Gunners for £72m, albeit Arsenal will only pay £20m upfront.
And Day feels Palace were let angered by Arsenal’s derisory early offers for their star man that eventually prompted the north London side to look elsewhere.
“It’s been really interesting to find out the relationships clubs have with other clubs,” he added.

“It’s like Arsenal, apparently going back to the Ian Wright transfer, we don’t have much of a relationship with Arsenal.
“I’m not surprised if they spend a whole summer saying ‘we really want Zaha, he really wants to come’ to the extent as one tabloid said he’ll go on strike if he doesn’t go to Arsenal but as you know we’ve only got £45m.
“You can have £40m of that, we’ll keep £5m in case a left back from Celtic comes up and thats it.
“And then low and behold this morning they’ve got £75m to spend on a similar player.”
Arsenal could announce the signing of Pepe today after he underwent his medical in London yesterday
