UEFA RANKING: See the clubs who top the chat this season



The European football governing body UEFA has released the ranking of football clubs after the conclusion of the last season, according to report in Marca.

Former European Champions Real Madrid top the rank for the fifth time in a row, the Los Merengues have amassed 146,000 points, ahead of Barcelona (138,000), Bayern Munich (128,000), Atletico Madrid (127,000), Juventus (124,000), Manchester City (106,000), Sevilla (104,000), Paris Saint-Germain (103,000), Arsenal (101,000) and Porto (93,000).


Real Madrid only added 19,000 points following a poor season under Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari respectively, the defending Champion was eliminated in the round of 16 last season, while Barcelona added 30,000 thanks to their semi-final exploits.

The coefficient rankings are based on a side's results in the Champions League and Europa League over the last five seasons.

Atletico occupy the fourth spot, with Madrid and Barcelona being first and second, in what is further evidence of Spanish football's dominance over the rest of Europe, despite a down year this year.

In terms of the respective football associations, Spain lead this category by a large distance with 103,569 points. England is second with 85,462 while Italy is third with 73,725.
