Repositioning Of Cross River State Media: Chief Press Secretary and Deputy Chief Press Secretary.

By Prince Charles Ekanem

From my position on repositioning of Cross River State Media, two young media personality got my attention for the position of Chief Press Secretary and the Deputy  Chief Press Secretary. Without sentiment and biasness I feel the position of the Chief Press Secretary should be man by a professional and as such disqualify my good friends, Simon Utsu ( A very good writer) , Olayi Emmanuel Eugene Upah and Great Philosopher  Efio-Ita Nyok. One could wonder why I haven't mentioned Agba Jalingo in any of my projection. Well I really feel we need him more in the opposite side of the government as voice of the voiceless. I just can't imagine Femi Falana accepting a federal appointment and same here with Agba Jalingo accepting a state government appointment.

If not for tribal sentiment I would have rooted for Rasheed Olanrewaju Zubair of AIT or Judex Okoro of Sun Newspaper who in the past have shown maturity and experience in journalism.

Well notwithstanding, Imani Odey MumZoe (IMANI BLESSING ODEY ) a Senior Channels TV Correspondent will be a real deal for the Chief Press Secretary and the first female to man that position in Nigeria. Her wealth of community journalism is second to none.  Imani will be bold enough to advise the Governor on not just how to lobby communication firms to carry News stories coming from the State but also some community issues affecting the State like livelihood, healthcare, crisis and other social vices. She's calm, jovial and available to the public for scrutiny and advise unlike some of her contemporaries.

The Deputy Chief Press Secretary is another vital office for someone with wealth of experience who will not just act in absence or disposal of the Chief Press Secretary but will cover any leakages coming from the exalted CPS office. What the CPS cannot do, the Deputy CPS should be able to do it with the glory going to the State. That position should go to Mr George Odok Jnr  of  News Agency of Nigeria.

Mr George Odok has distinguish himself among young Cross Riverians in the media sector. He is courageable, astute, intelligent  and very smart to cover whatsoever leakage is coming from that reputable office.

One of his community breakthrough story was the attention he drew  Federal Government to a failed portion of road and gully erosion in Calabar Axis of Calabar-Itu Federal Highway.

This two pair will make Cross River State media sector great, sweet and interesting.
