MEET THE NEW EMIR OF SABO

HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT IT?

THE NEW EMIR OF SABO

"Do unto others what you will expect them do unto you",  is this quote Biblical? Theologians will have to help us out. Whether it is or not, this is the reality of life, the fact that we must be conscious of the things we do to others, we must guard our activities and atitude towards others and expect to reap same as they say, "Karma is real". For if you do good, you will reap good and if you do evil, you will reap evil, no matter how long it tarries.

You may never have heard about SABO and her Emir, a new kingdom created through the balkanization of the defunct, famous Kano Emirate. The balkanization led to the creation of four more new Emirates and four new first class Emirs. The SABO Emir is, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, former Emir of Kano and now Emir of SABO. In his reign as Emir of Kano, he controlled and was in charge of the entire 44 local governments area in Kano State and financially had 5% of each of the 44 local government allocations as running cost of his Kingdom. 5% of each of the 44 local governments allocation is a lot of money. Now as the Emir of Sabo, he is just to control 8 local governments area and there is a new twist to it, it has just been remembered that as Emir, he is just to be reporting to local government chairmen and not even to the governor of the state.

The defunct Kano Emirate and it's Emir is a first class traditional stool in Nigeria and is ranked in the grade of  Sultan of Sokoto, the Oni of Ife,  Obong of Calabar, Oba  of Benin and Shehu of Borno. In fact, this kings and kingdoms mentioned, formed the National Council of Traditional Rulers.

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and in history, the most powerful CBN governor who had powers to ditch out money at will to his girl friends, colleagues and institutions he liked at will and will call it corporate social responsibility CSR, became the Emir of Kano at a critical period in the history of Nigeria. A period the then opposition political party and now ruling party, the APC  had applied all known and unknown tactics to grab power from the then ruling party, the PDP. The tactics which included the use of extreme blackmail and propaganda against the then President Goodluck Jonathan, saw Sanusi Lamido Sanusi become almost the mouth piece of the opposition against the government he was serving under. Whether Sanusi' s actions were in support of his religion or ethnic group is a story for another day, but one certain thing then was that he never wanted Goodluck Jonathan re-elected and used his privileged office as CBN governor to vilify Jonathan and achieved his plans to the favor of APC including GOV. Ganduje of Kano State. To those that supported Sanusi then, it was "Speaking truth to Power". Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was immediately rewarded for his good works and appointed Emir of Kano where he reigned supreme.

Knowing fully well that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is a potent danger when it comes to the act of blackmail, the Kano State government and governor Ganduje of Kano who are all beneficiaries of Sanusi blackmail against Jonathan were no more ready to receive from Sanusi what they used Sanusi for against Jonathan,
and when they survived him after the 2019 elections , had to use the sledge hammer on him, reducing him from Emir of Kano to Emir of Sabo and from the control of 44 local government areas to the control of 8 and he is also to be reporting to local government area chairmen who are his supervisors now.

DO NOT FIGHT A MAN WITH GRACE, FOR HIS GRACE WILL DISGRACE YOU. ANY LESSON TO LEARN?
