Cross River State Government/Security Adviser North Didn't Sack Ebonyi Indigenes

The Cross River State government via her State Security Adviser North has denied reports that about 2,000 Izzi indigenes of Ebonyi State, resident in Ekajuk, Ogoja Local Government Area were sacked.

The State Security adviser in charge of the Northern Cross River State where ogoja is under, Mr Leo Inyambe, described the report as false and uncalled for.

According to him, what happened was that Izzi people allegedly killed two Ekajuk men who went to mill rice in Ebonyi State. This angered the Ekajuk people, who destroyed some property of the Izzi people. No one was killed.

Inyambe said when he got the information, he moved to the area with security Team, gathered 30 Izzi indigenes and took them to Ogoja for their safety; while tension calmed down.

He said the people have not been transported to Ebonyi State as alleges and are still in safe hands in ogoja.
