WIKE’S VICOTRY IS A TRIUMPH OF DEMOCRACY OVER IMPOSITION – ANGELA

Office of the SSA to Governor Ayade on Mobilization and Enlightenment
April 4, 2019
Against all odds, democracy and the will of the people of River State in particular and Nigerians at large is said to have prevailed over every antics aimed at thwarting the advancement of democracy, yesterday as Governor Nyesom Wike, the incumbent Governor has reportedly won the gubernatorial poll.

Nigeria and River State is agog in utilization as the biblical allusion that “when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice, but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn (Prov. 29:2)” greatly played out. This is corroborated by the wide margin of votes that has returned, Wike who was described as the “Fearless Lion of the South South.”

Expressing her joy over, what she described as “sweeping victory,” the SSA to Governor Ben Ayade on Mobilization and Enlightenment said: “Today, history has been made in Rivers State, as the will of the indigenous people – the electorates, has prevailed over every attempt and antics by Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, to scuttle it. The Fearless Lion of the South South has retained the barton of power. I congratulate Governor Nyesom Wike, I congratulate PDP, I congratulate the good people of River State and I congratulate Nigerians. What has happened in River State is a testimonial to the fact that democracy has prevailed over the scheme of imposition.”

She added that Nigerians can no longer be cajoled by political propaganda; neither will politicians be cowed by the façade of intimidation to allow an unpopular candidate to lead the people. “Nigerians are wiser than one can imagine. There are broad spectrum platforms to gain political education now.

Nigerians are getting more politically enlightened by the day – they read you like the bible and know your intentions before casting their votes.” She therefore advised politicians to trade with caution in order to save their image, if they must sustain their political life and have prospect.

Speaking on the margin with which the incumbent Governor has won the poll, she admonished the opposition party, to accept the defeat in good faith, stating that politics is not actually a win-win situation; it is a win-loss situation. “Politicians should always have that in mind before venturing in the game,” she said.
