Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has welcomed the appointment of Pep Guardiola as a possible replacement following Juve’s consideration of sacking their manager.
Massimiliano Allegri has been at the helm of the Serie A giants since July 2014, winning four Italian Super Cups and five Scudettos during that time.
The former AC Milan boss could be sacked due to an “irreplaceable rift between Allegri and Juve’s management”.
Following the Bianconeri’s first-leg round of 16 loss to Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League.
While the 51-year-old ended up staying at the helm of the Italian giants, his future at the club once again appears uncertain.
Juventus are once again assessing Allegri’s situation following their quarter-final UCL elimination at the hands of Ajax Amsterdam.
Ronaldo’s arrival at Juventus in July 2018 was supposed to help deliver the European crown, which has eluded the club since 1996, with Allegri suffering defeats in two UCL finals in the space of three years.
As a result, Juve could part ways with Allegri and look to replace him with two-time Champions League winner Guardiola, a move the five-time Ballon d’Or winner would reportedly welcome
