Chief Mrs Ezama |

As Christians all over the world rise in unison to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, Chief Mrs.Theresa Ezama has observed that no society can experience real progress without sacrifice.
In an Easter Message released on Good Friday in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, Chief Ezama reasoned that the celebration of Easter amplifies the significance of sacrifice to human progress.
According to her, “no time is humanity more vividly reminded of the significance of SACRIFICE to human progress and advancement on all facets of life than the Easter period. Every Easter, the entire Christendom is forced to recall that our SALVATION is a product of priceless SACRIFICE!”
The Child protection boss argued that “our struggle to rescue our Children and communities from the vicious grip of Societal factors demands a measure of sacrifice from every Cross Riverians.”
Chief Ezama therefore urged Cross Riverians to devote a little time this Easter period “to reflect on your relationship with your neighbours and the personal sacrifices that we must all make to create a better society for ourselves and our children yet unborn.”
The Chairperson also explained that since she assumed office as the Child protection Commission Chairperson, she had made deliberate efforts to draw the attention of the people to the challenges of building a better society and the sacrifices that everyone should make to create a prosperous and happy society for the children.
Said she; “while we re-join our loved ones and friends for the joys and happiness of Easter, we must remember not to lose our vigilance.
Experience has shown that the enemies of our happiness have always seized on the laxity of people during festive periods to wreak havoc on the innocent. We cannot afford to concede an inch of ground to these enemies of the state in the on-going fight to reclaim our freedom from people who have turned against us.”
Ezama advised the people to stay alert and report any suspicious movement around their neighbourhoods and communities to security agents as the task of securing lives and properties can only be effective with the active participation of the people.
Describing Easter as a season for sober reflection and renewal of covenants with God and strengthening of ties with families and friends, Ezama prayed that the joys of Easter and the Blessings of Christ’s infinite grace for mankind would fill every home and every community in Cross River State this Season and always.
