Barely 6 months old in China, a Cross Riverian who has won several awards due to his contributions to humanitarian and community development and a University of Calabar lecturer in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Comrade Thomas Odey Magu, emerged as the President of All Nigeria Students in China, Beijing municipality.


In an election contested by two persons for the prestigious position, Thomas Odey Magu pulled a total of 24 votes to emerge as the 7th president of the International Association, while his opponent Raymond Ifechukwu garnered just four votes, the election was the 7th edition conducted by the association and it was chaired by Chiamaka Obiye

Thomas Odey Magu is a hardworking young man who has published more than 30 articles in both national and international peer-review journals and has attended conferences within and outside the country through the help of his MSc supervisor Prof. Benedict Ita and collaboration with some of his colleagues like Louis Hitler etc.

He is a PhD research scholar at the Institute of Chemistry, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and also a Lecturer in the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, University of Calabar, he holds an MSc degree in Physical Chemistry and is currently a PhD research scholar in China.
