The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate for the 2019 polls, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed the petition by the All Progressives Congress (APC) contesting his citizenship as “idiotic”.
Atiku, who spoke by way of his media aide, Paul Ibe, advised Saturday Sun, yesterday, that it’s an insult to Nigerians and the workplace of Vice President, which he occupied for eight years, for the APC to allege that he’s not a Nigerian.
He mentioned all the things should not be about politics. Ac- cording to him, “ that’s idiotic. It is idiotic. And it’s ridiculous. Atiku Abubakar is a former Vice President of Nigeria. Are they telling us {that a} former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will not be a Nigerian? That is disrespectful to Nigerians and for the workplace he has held, which different people will maintain and can proceed to carry. Everything should not be on the alter of politics. “
Efforts to get the response of the PDP management to the event, as on the time of submitting this report, was unsuccessful because the op- place celebration’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, didn’t reply to repeated calls to his cell line.
