Akpabio Threatens to Expose Buhari Over Refusal of Appointment

The Senator representing Akwa Ibom North West (Ikot Ekpene) Senatorial District, Chief Godswill Akpabio has threatened to expose the atrocities committed by President Muhammadu Buhari in the making of his second term re-election.
This is coming on the heels of his inability to access the Presidential villa when he last visited, and the President’s alleged shunning of the Senator.

A confidential source from Aso Rock revealed that Akpabio was heard saying that he will make known some scary facts about the President’s shady deals regarding the elections to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, if he (President) does not appoint him the Minister of Power.

According to our source, Akpabio had heard that his name was yet to be included in the list of Ministers for the President’s second term cabinet and therefore, sought an audience with the President. But he was denied access to him.

“The President’s Chief of staff denied him access to the President when he sought audience with him (President)”.

“Buhari has confidence in Senator Ita Enang and the Minister for Budget and National Planning, Udo Udoma for the slot of the Minister of Power. But its likely that the latter will not be part of the President’s second term cabinet so, it’s either Don Etiebet or another person, not necessarily Akpabio”, our source said.

“Feeling disappointed and frustrated about his seeming abandonment by the President after they lured him out and made him decamp from the PDP to the APC where he was defeated, Akpabio sees this as a plot to make him politically irrelevant. Hence, his threats to expose the President” our source revealed.

Senator Ita Enang who seem uncomfortable with these developments has averred that “once Akpabio is appointed Minister of Power, his (Ita Enang) chances for the same position would become narrow”. “Ita Enang seems to be on the favour side of the President’s wife, Aisha Buhari, while Akpabio gets his from the APC Party leader, Adams Oshiomhole”, our source said.

Meanwhile, the Akwa Ibom APC is not at ease with the choice of Senator Akpabio for a ministerial slot.

A source who pleaded anonymity disclosed to
Platinum.ng that the Party has asked the President to shop for a fresh member of the Party for the slot instead of giving it to Akpabio.u never chi chum chin
