The Civil Society In Cross River State celebrated the 2019 World NGO Day with style.




The global program with theme: Celebrate, Commemorate and Collaborate featured a symposium on Self Help Group Integration, Linkages and Community Development, Presentation of Awards to selected NGOs  and Signing of Green Jobs Green Economy framework in Cross River State.

Speaking on the Occasion,  the Special Adviser to the Governor on Civil Society and Nongovernmental organizations, Mr Emmanuel Anoh, commended NGOs for their dedicated service to humanity, especially efforts in building stronger linkages of CBOs, NGO networks with Development Partners for increased activity. He equally enjoined NGOs to continue to collaborate with Government in efforts to achieving sustainable Development.

The NGO Community expressed deep appreciation to the Leadership of His Excellency Senator Professor Ben Ayade for his visionary leadership and strategic policy direction of government in meeting with the needs of the citinzenry. CSOs assured government of  qualitative support for the realization of sustainable Development.

The Program Director of United Purpose ( formerly Concerned Universal, expressed the desire of their organization to collaborate with government of Sen. Prof Ben Ayade for the realization of complete anti open defecation in Cross River State. CUSO International expressed their desire for continuous collaboration for enhanced activity. FHI 360 appreciated the conducive environment  created by Cross River State government in Development work and announced an extension intervention program in Cross River State for another 5 years.

 Recipients of the awards include amongst others; United Purpose, CUSO International,  BTAN, JDPC, and Prof. Bene Madunagu.

The Occasion which took place in Gumays Plaza Hotel,  was graced by Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries and community leaders.
